Hollywood Loves Marxist Dictators
Does anyone have an explanation as to why people in Hollywood who have so greatly benefited from America's freedom and capitalist system are enamored with socialist dictators like Chavez and Castro while disdaining America? Oliver Stone has made a film celebrating hugo chavez and attended an Italian film festival with him. It made me nauseous watching them laugh and smile together. Not only has chavez established authoritarian rule over his own countrymen, but he is a virulent anti-Semite who has embraced and formed a partnership with Iran's genocidal dictator. I'm surprised Stone didn't invite ahmadinejad to attend the festival with him as well. The leftist elite throughout the west is in love with tyrants. Of course they aren't the ones who have to live under them. I will never understand what is in the psychological makeup of people who live in mansions in Beverly Hills and Bel Air, drive around in luxury cars, but who nevertheless publicly bash capitalism and glorify socialism and socialist dictatorships. I would like to see Americans boycott Oliver Stone since he supports our enemies.

Hi! I'm writing you from Venezuela. Your article is short and concise. Thanks for helping us to open other people eyes about Stone's and some others ironic attitude regarding democracy and dictatorships.
It's the same thing with people who adore Fidel Castro but none of them lives in Cuba.
I'm from Venezuela. All the people from the governing party are infatuated with Fidel. They call you people from the United States an "evil empire" that wants to invade us, but they adore Fidel and everything Cuba, when Cuba has been the only country that ACTUALLY tried to invade Venezuela in the 60s and was suspended from the OAS for that!
I am a Venezuelan. We are sick and tired of the way chavez and his chulos are taking our money.

Very simple answer they are capitalist so they enjoy using money from the most corrupt people on earth thinking he who steals from a robber .....gets 100 years of forgiveness..
Sean Penn and Stone should come and live a couple of years as regular citizens of Cuba and Venezuela no privilege to see what they would say...by the way they should give me back my tax money they are stealing from me....

At the end, most of the sources of these kind of problems is "people". Those who follows and vote for leaders like Chavez who said "Ser rico es malo" (being rich is bad) but lives as a king, or those who enjoy movies from people like Stone, ignoring the lack of ethics on their lives.

I am very glad that an American says the true about Oliver Stone. This movie made me feel sick. I am from Venezuela, and I have living here in USA for four years. I am writing from Houston. I have to leave my country because Chavez fired 22,000 of Engineers of Petroleum of Venezuela in 2004 and banned that all of them could find another job in the country. All of them wanted to protect the company from his oil revolution. Today, he his sending free oil to his communist friends and paying guys like Stone to make movies like this. Meanwhile people in Venezuela don’t have enough food to eat, don’t have good hospitals to go, and don't have security. Many Venezuelans people die every day on Caracas’s streets due to the delinquency that kills people just for a pair of shoes. It’s a big pity.
The answer is very simple... "Money talks"...The questions should be, "How much money did Oliver Stone receive to do this so called movie?" because in Venezuela everyone knows that chavez gives away money to those who praise him and his 'socialism'.
It is not a secret as well, that Oliver Stone would make a movie with whoever is against the US capitalism, showing how big of a hypocrit he is.
The money, the money go to chavez to find money.

This short article has said it all. If he believes he's the greatest leader, why doesn't he move to Venezuela and lives like any other Venezuelan without any privilege and money like he has?... why doesn't he move to Catia and wakes up at 4am and walks down the stairs from any "Barrio" and take the bus like anyone else, and comes back crossing his fingers that noone robs "or kills" him before he gets safe home, or if his salary helps him to go around the world meeting all kind of bastards and weirdos with a sack full of lies and oppression for their people?
Noone capable to take a message or movie like this one to the masses should be respected. I believe we should act against him with tools to reach to everyone and stop watching this garbage, selling a grotesque sack of lies to the world, and the image of a man hungry and thirsty of power and ego.

I am Venezuelan and I feel happy because of blogs, pages and sites abroad where people from other countries can see and read about this criminal dictator who is buying willingness and sympathywith of opportunistic bloodsuckers such as the mentioned above.

Hospital has no medicines or basic medical equipments...not ambulances for the people but of course to other "friendly" countries...not vans to collect the bodies left by the crime on the streets...

It is indeed absurd that someone, or should I say anyone, who has lived in a Democratic/Capitalist system goes out there rooting for socialism or communism, the very same system they criticize gave them the opportunity to educate and have a different opinion, so if they dislike our system so much, why don't they give up their citizenship and move to Cuba or Venezuela or China.. Do you Know Who paid for that film? Where did the funds come from? From Oliver´s own pocket? Of Course not! Chavez did pay for that, he took money from venezuelan´s pockets to pay Oliver several million dollars for that film. But that´s not new, Chavez has done that before, he has paid millions of dollars to some other Hollywood Actors including Sean Penn, Naomi Campbell and the falling actor Danny Glover. No Mas Chavez!
