A judge ordered that Rifqa Bary, a muslim convert to Christianity who ran away because she believes her parents will murder her for being an apostate, is to be returned to her parents on the grounds that she could not prove her life was endangered. How the hell is she supposed to prove this if her parents merely made verbal threats to her privately? On the Greta Van Susteran show, there was a debate between two defense attorneys. The creep defending her parents argued that the burden of proof is on Rifqa. I guess when she winds up dead, then that will be sufficient proof. The funny thing is that he acknowledged that "radical" muslims do perpetrate honor killings but that we don't know these people and its unfair to compare them to the "radicals", as if there is a peaceful islam and the radicals represent a separate fringe. But it is precisely because we don't know these people, why we must ere on the side of Rifqa. Disappointingly the usually sensible host filling in for Greta also argued to the lawyer taking Rifqa's side, that it was unfair to judge her parents as being a threat just because they are muslim. So, this bitch is more concerned with being fair to muslims then protecting the life of this young girl. I suspect Greta would have been on the side of Rifqa, but who knows.
In a society where authorities have ripped children away from their parents, accusing them of engaging in child porn because the parents had innocent photos of their kids taking a bath, won't even protect a teenager who's muslim parents might kill her for converting. But it is precisely because they are muslims that the authorities will not lift a finger to protect this child. Politics, political correctness and concern over the fragile sensitivities of the muslim community all take precedence over Rifqa's life.
They won't kill her immediately, but someday when all of this dies down and the media spotlight is off of this case, it may be six months or a year from now, we might be reading about Rifqa Bary having gone "missing". The story won't appear in the mainstream media however.
