Warning America About the Islamist Threat

Another excellent monologue on the islamic threat to the west by Pat Condell, who warns Americans to hold onto our constitution and not let sharia creep in as is occurring in Europe.

A word about Pat Condell however. As good and constructive as he is regarding the jihadist threat to the west, Condell is no friend of Israel, as I hear that in one of his videos he insists Israel give up Judea and Samaria. This doesn’t surprise me. Since I found out he is an atheist opposed to all religions, it occurred to me that he probably is anti-Israel. It stands to reason. However since the greatest threat to the free world is specifically islam, even though he is an atheist he ought to support Israel being that it is the only free country in the Middle East and shares the same enemies as the west. But his narrow minded atheism and dismissal of all religions as oppressive won’t allow him to support the Jewish state. Saying that Israel should surrender its land to the same jihadist forces threatening the west is hypocritical in the extreme. While he rightfully urges the west to fight the intrusion of islam into its societies, he urges Israel to give in to their demands. What’s right for the west isn’t right for Israel according to Pat Condell. I do not believe you can have one set of standards for the west and another for Israel, which is a stand taken by even some of those like Condell who are aware of the islamist threat. If Pat cannot distinquish between islam and Judiasm or Christianity, then he lacks moral clarity and thus cannot be counted on as a true ally in this fight. Whatever admiration and respect I had for him previously has diminished a great deal. As good as he is when it comes to speaking out against islam, I cannot consider him an ally since he opposes Israel. And you can be rest assured that given his atheism, he wouldn't consider the destruction of Israel as a loss. I'm sure in his eyes Israel is a theocracy no different than the islamist states surrounding it rather than as a free western style democracy which should be supported by westerners. I don’t begrudge his atheism, I have no problem with it. I do have a problem with his being anti-Israel, assuming he is. I also have a problem in that he does not distinquish between islam and other religions which he all lumps together as oppressive. Islam is distinct from other religions in its violence and oppression. I would hope Pat understands this.
