CAIR to Distribute Korans to Public Officials

The hamas front group CAIR plans to distribute 100,000 korans to leaders across the country. I hope at least some of these leaders tell CAIR where they can shove their korans or at least pretend to politely accept them and then tear them up right in front of their faces. But just like politicians they will behave like the dhimmis they are and cravenly accept the korans with a smile and a thank you. After all, we can't offend the fragile sensibilities of muslims. Isn't this a violation of the separation of religion and state? Wouldn't liberals be screaming if Christians were handing out bibles to public officials?

More Da’wa: CAIR to distribute 100,000 Qurans to state and local leaders

CAIR issued a news release launching a new initiative in its 2010 Strategic plan: distribution of 100,000 Qurans to US state and local officials. In the news release CAIR said it was prompted to conduct Da’wa (preaching) by President Obama’s Cairo speech:

"In the multi-year initiative, American Muslims will sponsor Qurans for distribution to governors, state attorneys general, educators, law enforcement officials, state and national legislators, local elected and public officials, media professionals and other local or national leaders who shape public opinion or determine policy," the statement said.
According to the press release from CAIR, the "Share the Quran" educational campaign "was prompted by President Obama's recent address to Muslims worldwide in which he quoted from that holy text."

CAIR Chairman and North Carolina Democratic State senator, Larry Shaw noted:

"Through this ground-breaking outreach initiative, we hope not only to educate policy-makers and opinion leaders about Islam, but also to provide an opportunity for American Muslims to reach out to their fellow citizens of other faiths."
The "Share the Quran" initiative, according to the CAIR statement, is part of the celebration of the council's 15th anniversary.

Jewish Rights in Judea and Samaria

Yisrael Medad defends the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria. It’s great that this article was given space in a mainstream publication. The overwhelming majority of people have not heard this side of the story. All they hear incessantly are lies about how Jewish settlements are “illegal” and that Israel illegally occupies palestinian land. So I’m pleasantly surprised that the LA Times would give a voice to Yisrael Medad explaining that Jews have absolutely every right to live in Judea and Samaria. These communities are perfectly legal and just.

In defense of 'settlements'
Jews belong in Judea and Samaria as much as Palestinians who stayed in Israel.

No one, including a president of the United States of America, can presume to tell me, a Jew, that I cannot live in the area of my national homeland. That's one of the main reasons my wife and I chose in 1981 to move to Shiloh, a so-called settlement less than 30 miles north of Jerusalem.

After Shiloh was founded in 1978, then-President Carter demanded of Prime Minister Menachem Begin that the village of eight families be removed. Carter, from his first meeting with Begin, pressed him to "freeze" the activity of Jews rebuilding a presence in their historic home. As his former information aide, Shmuel Katz, related, Begin said: "You, Mr. President, have in the United States a number of places with names like Bethlehem, Shiloh and Hebron, and you haven't the right to tell prospective residents in those places that they are forbidden to live there. Just like you, I have no such right in my country. Every Jew is entitled to reside wherever he pleases."

We now fast-forward to President Obama, who declared on June 15 in remarks at a news conference with Italy's prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, that Jewish communities beyond the Green Line "in past agreements have been categorized as illegal."

I believe the president has been misled. There can be nothing illegal about a Jew living where Judaism was born. To suggest that residency be permitted or prohibited based on race, religion or ethnic background is dangerously close to employing racist terminology.

Suppose someone suggested that Palestinian villages and towns in pre-1967 Israel were to be called "settlements" and that, to achieve a true peace, Arabs should be removed from their homes. Of course, separation or transfer of Arabs is intolerable, but why is it quite acceptable to demand that Jews be ethnically cleansed from the area? Do not Jews belong in Judea and Samaria as much as Palestinians who stayed in the state of Israel?

Some have questioned why Jews should be allowed to resettle areas in which they didn't live in the years preceding the 1967 war, areas that were almost empty of Jews before 1948 as well. But why didn't Jews live in the area at that time? Quite simple: They had been the victims of a three-decades-long ethnic cleansing project that started in 1920, when an Arab attack wiped out a small Jewish farm at Tel Hai in Upper Galilee and was followed by attacks in Jerusalem and, in 1921, in Jaffa and Jerusalem.

In 1929, Hebron's centuries-old Jewish population was expelled as a result of an Arab pogrom that killed almost 70 Jews. Jews that year removed themselves from Gaza, Nablus and Jenin. The return of my family to Shiloh -- and of other Jews to more than 150 other communities over the Green Line since 1967 -- is not solely a throwback to claimed biblical rights. Nor is it solely to assert our right to return to areas that were Jewish-populated in the 20th century until Arab violence drove them away. We have returned under a clear fulfillment of international law. There can be no doubt as to the legality of the act of my residency in Shiloh.

Obama Admin, EU to Legitimize hamas

The powers that be have decided that hamas should be included in the latest fraudulent "peace" process. This reprehensible decision was made in talks which excluded Israel. The hussein obama administration and the EU not only disregard the sovereign rights and security of Israel but have shown outright contempt for it.

It is impossible to make peace because hamas does not want peaceful coexistence with Israel, it wants the obliteration of Israel and the genocide of its Jewish population. Why don’t these has-beens baker, carter and scowcroft crawl back under the rocks from which they emerged. Who the fuck left them in charge of Israel or America for that matter? And fuck hussein obama as well.

U.S., EU seek to include Hamas in peace process

by Avika Eldar, Ha’aretz, June 28, 2009

The American government and the European Union are making efforts to include Hamas in a broader diplomatic effort that would include a long-term cease-fire with Israel, reconciliation among Palestinian factions and support for renewed negotiations with Israel on the basis of the Arab peace initiative.

A deal is reportedly being formulated for the transfer of abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit to Egypt, under the assumption that this would encourage Israel to agree to a deal with Hamas that would include the release of Palestinian prisoners and opening border crossings. A European diplomatic source told Haaretz yesterday that talks about manifesting the deal were held secretly until late last week, and only four persons were privy to the details of the talks. Israel was not a party to the effort.

Last week Israeli sources denied knowledge of any developments or plans to transfer Shalit to Egypt, a matter that Arab, and particularly Palestinian sources, gave much attention to in their reports. Israel has downplayed reports of a pending breakthrough in the Shalit case, and Israeli officials urged caution and noted that Shalit’s release has been undermined in the past by too many public statements.

According to the Saudi Arabian newspaper Al-Hayat reporting from Damascus, a U.S. official visiting Syria two weeks ago said that “the Hamas leadership has recently made important and interesting statements.” The official added that the U.S. is following the Hamas stance and hopes that the group will alter its views and adopt a two-state solution.

Meanwhile, four senior Republican and Democratic figures, including former president Jimmy Carter and former secretary of state James Baker, called on President Barack Obama to initiate a dialogue with Hamas without delay. Speaking during interviews organized by the Foundation for Middle East Peace, Baker said that just like the U.S. found a way to begin dialogue with the PLO, it must do so with Hamas. Baker noted that it is impossible to make peace with people if you are unwilling to talk with them.

Obama's Obsession With Settlements

Why is the term “occupied” and "settlements" thrown around so easily? Who’s territory exactly is being occupied? Before Israel was in control, Jordan occupied Judea and Samaria between 1948 and 1967. Only two countries, England and Pakistan recognized Jordan’s occupation. In 1967 Jordan along with other Arab nations initiated a war against Israel and Israel gained Judea and Samaria along with Gaza, the Golan Heights, eastern Jerusalem and the Sinai which has since been given back to Egypt. So how does gaining territory in a war of self-defense constitute an “occupation” of that territory and considering the territory was never a sovereign entity to begin with? Again I ask who’s territory is being occupied here? And why is it that Jews returning to live in areas in which they were ethnically cleansed by Jordan between 1948 and 1967 after having lived there for generations, are now considered "settlers"?

No Meddling With Iran … But Oh, Those Settlements!

White House pressure on Israel shows none of the deference to sovereignty he shows Tehran.

Page 1 of 2 Next ->

This week President Obama got tougher with the mullahs — but not by much. He spoke of being “appalled and outraged” by their brutality, but also of “respect[ing] the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran and … not interfering with Iran’s affairs.”

Yet, concurrently, Obama’s administration kept up its tough confrontation with Israel over the settlements issue. A meeting in Paris between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and George Mitchell, the Obama administration’s Middle East envoy, got postponed, apparently because of too much unresolved tension over settlements. Instead, Defense Minister Ehud Barak is heading to Washington to perhaps work out the issue in meetings with Mitchell and other officials.

Netanyahu, in his June 14 speech at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, seemingly made major concessions to Obama. He reversed his lifelong opposition to a Palestinian state alongside Israel — saying it would have to be demilitarized, a situation known from the historical record to break down easily. And on settlements he said — and has since clarified — that Israel would build no more new ones nor set aside any further land, and would only allow natural growth within the boundaries of already-existing settlements.

But it’s still not enough for the administration, which keeps calling for a complete construction freeze in the settlements. With attention now focusing on the fine points of this drama (Does the administration mean no more kindergartens in the settlements? That families will have to live cramped or send some of their kids to dwell elsewhere?) what is often forgotten is how much Israel has already conceded on this issue, and how biased towards the Palestinian side the issue has already become.

The West Bank, or Judea and Samaria, has an official status as disputed — not occupied — territory whose ultimate disposition is supposed to be decided in negotiations. UN Security Council Resolution 242, adopted months after the 1967 Six Day War, calls for “withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict” — not from “the” or “all” the territories, and nowhere does it refer to settlements.

Indeed, Eugene Rostow, the late U.S. legal scholar and diplomat who played the leading U.S. role in negotiating 242, wrote in 1991 that:

[T]he Jewish right of settlement in Palestine west of the Jordan River, that is, in Israel, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip … has never been terminated and cannot be terminated except by a recognized peace between Israel and its neighbors … the Jews have the same right to settle [in the West Bank] as they have to settle in Haifa.

Christians Rights Denied in Dearborn

Local law enforcement and a judge took the side of the islamosupremacists in Dearborn, Michigan. At the city's annual Arab international street festival, the constitutional right to freedom of religion was denied to Arab Christians who were prevented from handing out Christian material as they courageously do every year.

Law enforcement has begun to cave to Islamic demands of supremacism in breach of our inalienable rights guaranteed to us in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

Dearborn, Michigan, features the most highly concentrated population of Muslims in the nation. Arabic Christian Perspective (ACP), and Pastor George Saieg attend the annual Arab International street festival there every year handing out Christian material to Muslims. They do this along the public sidewalks that run along the street, where the festival is conducted. It is open to the public and admission is free. Business establishments along the street remain open during the festival.

It is a bold thing to do, but in the five years ACP has been going there, it has never encountered any problems.

Now, the Dearborn Police Department has asked ACP to stand on a single corner, where they will be unable to freely mingle with festival gatherers and unable to reach their intended audience. This is a violation of its First Amendment rights.

Bill Becker has filed a lawsuit and the Thomas More Law Center, based in Ann Arbor, is assisting in this matter. A copy of the complaint, which they filed today is attached.

Becker said
The relevance of our lawsuit is based on the idea that in Iran, we applaud what the people are doing to express their objection to the election, but in the U.S., police officials are restraining my clients' rights to practice its free speech liberty.

Dhimmitude in Virginia

What the fuck is wrong with Americans, in the south no less, that we invite in and embrace our enemies? These politicians who receive saudi money and cave in to the demands of islamists are outright traitors and should be imprisoned. We are headed down the same destructive path as Europe. Americans need to be awaken from their stupor and made aware of what is taking place in Europe and how we are witnessing the beginnings of the same process here. They need to toss these bastards out of office on their asses who do not care about this country, only in maintaining their own positions of power even if that means selling themselves to the saudi wahabbists and other enemies of America.

VAST fights Official Dhimmitude in Wahhabi Alley Virginia

Fairfax County, Virginia has been the locus of a battle by concerned local citizens against Saudi-sponsored and funded Wahhabi and Muslim Brotherhood extremism. Whether it is the swirl of controversy surrounding the Dar Al-Hiijah Mosque in Falls Church , or the International Institute of Islamic Thought in Herndon funded by Muslim Brotherhood funds or the Saudi Embassy sponsored and funded , Islamic Saudi Academy, the area has assumed the label of Wahhabi Alley. My colleagues in Fairfax Count were heavily involved in last year’s protests of the ISA’s hate texts at the Alexandria campus. The hate texts were identified by studies of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, and were the subject of northern Virginia Congressman Frank Wolf’s insistent inquiries of our State Department, see here. Lead by Jim Lafferty, my colleagues have aggressively taken on the expansion of the ISA’s Pope Head campus recently unanimously approved by Fairfax County Planning Commission. Now they are combating outright Dhimmitude by County officials in sending email invitations to citizens to attend a taqiyya fest justifying their decision on the ISA expansion and promoting Islam.

Jim Lafferty, a leader in the ISA protests has led the formation a new coalition, Virginians Against Sharia Task Force or VAST. VAST is now combating Fairfax County bureaucrats on aiding and abetting Sharia and pushing propaganda on behalf of the ISA.

Muslims in Poland

You would think the Poles, having lived behind the iron curtain and experiencing the oppression of communist rule, would resist the demands of islamosupremacists and their attempts to dominate the country. But instead, some Polish politicians want to grant recognition to muslim marriages and holidays. Now on the surface this may seem to be a reasonable request for equal rights. However as experience shows with muslims throughout the west, once you give an inch, they will take a mile. And unlike other religions, islam is not merely a personal faith but a totalitarian political ideology which seeks domination over non-believers.

WARSAW — Muslims in overwhelmingly Catholic Poland are pressing for an overhaul of a longtime interwar law that denies the minority many legitimate rights, including the recognition of Islamic marriage and religious holidays.

"In the light of the current law, Muslims in Poland are discriminated against," Pawel Borecki, a professor in the University of Warsaw's Religious Law Faculty, told the Polish Radio on Wednesday, June 17.

Muslims want to amend a 1936 law that regulates relations between the state and the country’s Muslim Religious Association and defines the legal status of Muslims in Poland.

The legislation does not recognize Islamic marriage contracts, which means Muslims must tie the knot through civil marriage.

"A Muslim religious wedding still doesn't have civil effects," notes Borecki.

The law also obliges Muslims to pray for the state, the president, the government and the army during the weekly Friday prayer.

"Followers of Islam also still do not have a guaranteed right to celebrate their holidays," stressed Borecki.

Bibi Caves to Obama

Is there any Israeli leader with the moral courage to stand up for his country’s rights and start behaving like the leader of a sovereign nation? Why couldn’t Bibi simply tell the muslim sympathizer occupying the White House where he can shove his demands? That pusillanimous hypocrite won’t dare confront those isamo-nazi mullahs in Iran because he doesn’t want to interfere in their internal affairs and says he respects the sovereignty of Iran. Yet where is the respect for Israel’s sovereignty? Why is Israel the only country where its alright to meddle in their internal affairs? Why won’t this president get tough with dictatorships in Iran, Syria and North Korea, but instead reserves his display of toughness with an ally, Israel?

As to the liberal American Jews who urge putting pressure on Bibi and say they are losing patience with Israel, they certainly do not speak for me. My patience is wearing thin with the Obama administration, not with Israel. Israel has sacrificed enough and has made enough concessions while getting NOTHING in return. Not even the minimum of an end to terrorism and incitement and accepting the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state. These liberal Jews in America are not on the front lines as are Israeli Jews and therefore are not going to suffer the consequences of what they advocate Israel to do. I’ve had enough of them as much as I have of obama.

Netanyahu folds under US pressure for pulling out of West Bank towns before peace talks

DEBKAfile Special Analysis

Despite his pledge to keep security considerations uppermost in his dealings with the Palestinians, Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu is buckling under pressure from the US administration aimed at softening Israel up ahead of Middle East peace talks.

This pressure turned Netanyahu’s first official visits to Rome and Paris sour.

He had hoped to outmaneuver the Obama administration’s insistence on a total settlement freeze by winning the support of friendly Silvio Berlusconi and Nicolas Sarkozy for a compromise formula, which would be presented as a European-Israel deal.

To achieve this, he promised the Italian and French leaders that Israeli forces would soon be pulled out of West Bank Palestinian towns. But he failed to anticipate that the Obama administration would outflank him and get there first. So his arrival in Rome and Paris was preceded by Italian and French officials parroting the Washington line on a settlement freeze, including East Jerusalem

When he met Berlusconi Monday, June 22, the Israeli prime minister saw that he had already talked to Obama on the phone and promised that the Italian boot would toe the American line.

In Paris, he found the same trap had been laid at the Elysee.

In these circumstances, Netanyahu should never have gone through with his visits to Italy and France. And defense minister Ehud Barak should call off his trip to Washington Monday for the interview with US Middle East envoy George Mitchell which the prime minister postponed. He has little hope of persuading the administration to change its tune or head off the impending clash between his administration and the Obama White House.

Netanyahu’s promise to the Italian and French leaders to pull the IDF out of the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jericho and Qalqilya, has meanwhile gone on record, for no gain in Rome in Paris. But he can no longer capitalize on this major concession for a quid pro quo from the Palestinians. The IDF has also been ordered to reduce to the number of checkpoints on the West Bank to 10 active facilities to allow the Palestinians to travel from town to town free of holdups for searches – another concession to US demands.

These concessions are tantamount to the handover of the main West Bank towns to Palestinian security control.

It is the most sweeping redeployment of Israeli security forces since their unilateral withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and northern Samaria four years ago as part of Ariel Sharon’s disengagement policy.

To make the gesture palatable to the Israeli public - who have not forgottenthat years of Palestinian suicide bombing attacks from the West Bank were finally stemmed by the IDF presence in terrorist city strongholds - Netanyahu told the army spokesman to announce Thursday, June 25, that the measures were being given a one-week trial run before being finalized.

However, once in place, these measures will be practically impossible to withdraw.

The Obama administration has thus cornered the Netanyahu government into giving away valuable assets to the Palestinians before negotiations have even begun. This diplomatic dexterity has not been displayed in Washington’s dealings with Iran.

Opening of Boston Mosque

The greatest obstacle we have in the fight against the islamic jihadists is the dhimmis and political whores we have to contend with from within. What the islamists are unable to gain through violence, they will through cultural jihad thanks to willing accomplices in high places. The governor of Massachusetts and the mayor of Boston are scheduled to appear at the opening of an islamic society of Boston mosque, built on government owned land. The ISB's founder is serving a 23 year prison sentence on terrorism charges. The ISB is run by other individuals with links to groups involved with terrorism. It's "spiritual" leader is yusef qaradawi, former London mayor "Red" Ken Livingstone's buddy. Qaradawi is a proponent of suicide attacks on Israeli Jews and he has also advocated violence against women, homosexuals, Americans and Jews.

Governor Patrick and Mayor Menino to appear at controversial Boston Mosque opening

Tomorrow, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Menino will appear at the official opening of the Islamic Society of Boston's (ISB) controversial Mosque built on city-owned land adjacent to Roxbury Community College (RCC). The ISB had initiated a massive defamation legal action in 2005 against the David project , the Boston Herald American and and FoxNews affiliate WFTX for revelatons about the terror financier connections and sources of funding from Saudi Arabian and Gulf Emirates. The plaintiffs and others, including a Trustee of the RCC had raised questions about the alleged insider dealings at the Boston Redevelopment Agency (BRA) in the conveyance of the land on which the 22,000 Square foot Mosque was built. The ISB abandoned the defamation matter in 2007. However, the matter of the BRA land conveyance is still outstanding.

We have followed the torturous tale of the ISB litigation over the past nearly four years in articles , here , here , here and here.. The Boston Phoenix published a major investigative piece, "Menino's Mosque" providing the details.

Americans for Peace and Tolerance issued the following press release today drawing attention to the extremist Muslim Brotherhood sponsors of the ISB, questioning why Massachusetts state and local officials are attending the official opening of the Grand Mosque with its extremist leadership.

The following is the text of the APT news release issued today.

ACLU Fights Transfer of Terrorist to Indiana Prison

The ACLU, always committed to the well-being of the most dangerous criminals and terrorists ahead of the safety of innocent people, is now fighting the transfer of a terrorist prisoner to a facility in Terre Haute, Indiana. It wasn't enough for them to have succeeded in getting Gitmo closed, now even this prison is apparently too harsh to place a terrorist because he will have only one 15-minute phone call a week and two 2-hour visits a month. But not to worry, the poor mistreated jihadist will still have access to computers, a library, a basketball court and a religious library where he can read that hate book the koran and no doubt other hateful and violent islamic material. Unbelievable.

ACLU to fight prisoner’s transfer to Terre Haute facility
Dean Kuipers Los Angeles Times

Civil rights activists plan to file a lawsuit Thursday contesting the transfer of a Tunisian-American prisoner to a federal prison facility in Indiana that some inmates have dubbed “Little Guantanamo.”

The suit by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of Sabri Benkahla could be the first of many challenging the secretive units, which drastically restrict outside contact.

Benkahla was transferred to the Communications Management Unit in Terre Haute in 2007, eight months after his conviction on perjury and obstruction of justice charges in a terrorism case.

Prosecutors contended that he lied to a grand jury about his contact with an alleged al-Qaida fundraiser and other terrorism suspects.

The Terre Haute unit was opened in 2006. Another CMU began operations last year at the federal prison in Marion, Ill.

The suit charges that the federal Bureau of Prisons violated Benkahla’s right to due process by pulling him out the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center with no transfer paperwork, no hearing, and no opportunity to contest his transfer beforehand. It also questions the legality of the CMUs.

Similar suits are being prepared by the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York and by attorneys representing other CMU inmates, calling the specialized units an unwarranted expansion of the war on terror.

Inmates housed in the CMUs are allowed only one 15-minute phone call a week and two 2-hour visits a month. While the CMU rules are more restrictive than those of most federal prisons, they are not as strict as the “supermax” facility in Florence, Colo., which houses terrorists such as unibomber Theodore Kaczynski. Inmates at the CMUs have access to computers, a library, a basketball court and a religious library.

Obama Renews Ties with Syria

Is there an enemy of America and Israel that Hussein Obama won’t embrace? Just when the Bush doctrine was beginning to bear fruit, this amateur hour administration is reversing those policies. Are Americans going to finally realize this man is every bit the radical we warned about during the campaign?

I think the democracy movements in Lebanon and Iran are the result of the Bush doctrine, most especially the invasion of Iraq. I think Obama’s coddling of the Syrian and Iranian regimes will reverse what gains may have been made. So we may never know how the Bush doctrine would have played out in the long run. The Bush doctrine was demonized because it wasn’t immediately successful and therefore wasn’t given a chance to play out. Of course there are those who didn’t want it to be successful, such as the Democrats who needed to convince the American public that it was a failure in order for them to gain back power.

Obama Flexes Muscles in Mideast, Resumes Ties with Damascus

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu, Arutz Sheva-INN, June 24, 2009

U.S. President Barack Obama is resuming diplomatic ties with Syria after a four-year hiatus as he aims for a regional peace in the Middle East. Syrian President Bashar Assad has conditioned peace with Israel on its regaining sovereignty of the strategic Golan Heights. Slightly more than half of the population on the Golan comprises Jews, and most of the remainder are Druze.

Israeli Foreign Minister spokesman Andy David told Israel National News Wednesday morning that the move by the U.S. is part of President Obama’s policies of “talking with the enemy” and that the issue of the Golan Heights is not a top American priority.

He noted that the return of an envoy does not necessarily mean an improvement in relations, and that the U.S. wants to have a more direct influence on the issues of the inquiry into the murder of former anti-Syrian Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri, the struggling economy in Syria and its support of Iraq rebels.

Imad Mustafa, Syria’s ambassador in Washington, welcomed the news of the return of an American counterpart to Damascus. The U.S. recalled its envoy from Syria four years ago, following the mammoth bomb attack that killed Hariri. Syria has been suspected of being behind the assassination.

“It’s in our interests to have an ambassador in Syria,” a senior Obama administration official told CNN. “We’ve been having more and more discussions, and we need to have someone there to engage,” he said. The government has not made an official announcement, and no one has yet been named to serve in the post.

Syria remains on the American list of states that support terror, but relations between the two countries have been closer since President Obama took office in January.

Iranian islamo-nazi Regime's Genocidal Incitement Against Israel

I believe its better their intentions are out in the open. Demanding the Iranian islamo-nazi rulers merely end their public calls for genocide of Jews does not mean they have ceased that as their ultimate goal. It’s far better to have these crazies in power who state their agenda openly, then to have the public face of Iranian leadership be those who are more politically sophisticated and keep quiet their intentions while still embarking on the path toward annihilating Israel.
Tehran’s Genocidal Incitement Against Israel
June 22, 2009, 4:17 pm

by Elihu D. Richter and Alex Barnea*

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made international headlines when on October 27, 2005, he declared in Persian that Iran would “wipe Israel off the map.” Some commentators in the United States, most notably University of Michigan professor Juan Cole, argued that the phrase was a mistranslation and that Ahmadinejad did not have genocidal intent.[1] But, the Islamic Republic’s official English translation rendered the phrase “Israel must be wiped off the map,” [2] and the regime reiterated its English translation on billboards and murals.[3]

Iranian statements demonizing Jews are not new and, indeed, have long been part of Iranian political and religious culture,[4] but they have acquired new significance in the light of Iran’s pursuit of nuclear enrichment technology, its development of missile delivery systems, and its support of terror proxies. Tel Aviv University professor Meir Litvak has extensively chronicled official Iranian anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial.[5]

Carter on hamas

What is Jimmy Carter smoking or has he become senile? Not only did he advocate that hamas be taken off the US list of terrorist groups, but he also made this comment which I had missed last week:

"Hamas leaders want peace and they want to have reconciliation not only with their Fatah brothers but also eventually with Israelis to live side by side, with two nations, both sovereign nations recognized by each other and living in peace".

hamas is a terrorist gang who's charter calls for the complete destruction of Israel and the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel. There is no middle ground between existing and not existing. There's nothing to negotiate with hamas since their dispute with Israel is not simply about its territorial borders but rather its very existence. It is their ideological, theological belief that a sovereign Jewish state does not have the right to exist on what they consider islamic land. Why is this obvious point, stated openly by hamas, so hard for liberals to grasp?

Human Rights Community Silent on Gilad Shalit

Elena Bonner castigates her colleagues in the human rights community for their silence on Gilad Shalit. As far as the so-called "human rights" community is concerned, the human rights of Israeli soldiers don't count. Only the well-being of terrorists are their concern. The truth is that to their way of thinking Shalit is getting what he deserves simply for being an Israeli soldier, a fighter for the hated "Zionist regime". And also from their point of view the terrorists are "resistance" or "freedom fighters".

AND ANOTHER question that has been a thorn for me for a long time. It's a question for my human rights colleagues. Why doesn't the fate of the Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit trouble you in the same way as does the fate of the Guantanamo prisoners?

You fought for and won the opportunity for the International Committee of the Red Cross, journalists and lawyers to visit Guantanamo. You know prison conditions, the prisoners' everyday routine, their food. You have met with prisoners subjected to torture. The result of your efforts has been a ban on torture and a law to close this prison. President Obama signed it in the first days of his coming to the White House. And although he, just like president Bush before him, does not know what to do with the Guantanamo prisoners, there is hope that the new administration will think up something.

But during the two years Schalit has been held by terrorists, the world human rights community has done nothing for his release. Why? He is a wounded soldier, and fully falls under the protection of the Geneva Conventions. The conventions say clearly that hostage-taking is prohibited, that representatives of the Red Cross must be allowed to see prisoners of war, especially wounded prisoners, and there is much else written in the Geneva Conventions about Schalit's rights. The fact that representatives of the Quartet conduct negotiations with the people who are holding Schalit in an unknown location, in unknown conditions, vividly demonstrates their scorn of international rights documents and their total legal nihilism. Do human rights activists also fail to recall the fundamental international rights documents?

And yet I still think (and some will find this naive) that the first tiny, but real step toward peace must become the release of Schalit. Release, and not his exchange for 1,000 or 1,500 prisoners who are in Israeli prisons serving court sentences for real crimes.

Returning to my question of why human rights activists are silent, I can find no answer except that Schalit is an Israeli soldier, Schalit is a Jew. So again, it is conscious or unconscious anti-Semitism. Again, it is fascism.

Senator Defends Israel's Rights

New Jersey Democratic Senator Robert Menendez shows moral clarity by making a strong speech on the senate floor in defense of Israel and has to explain to the president that Israel's founding was not based on the holocaust, but because of the Jewish people's 3,500 year history in the land of Israel. I'm glad to see at least some Democrats are breaking with Obama over his Israel policy including Harry Reid.

We should be supporting Israel, not be an "honest broker" between a free, democratic nation and a terrorist entity. The two simply do not have the same moral standing, therefore they should not be treated equally. This liberal idea that we ought to be evenhanded between Israel and her enemies is morally repugnant. These are the same people who believe that since Israel has nukes Iran should be able to as well. They just don't get it because liberals truly are unable to make moral distinctions because they have no moral compass.

The palestinians are the ones who rejected a two-state solution and have done so repeatedly. They "deserve" nothing so long as they do not recognize Israel and end terrorism and incitement. Yet they refuse to comply with these minimalist demands. Why do people expect Israel to just hand them statehood on a silver platter without Israel's own security needs being guaranteed? Let them earn statehood.

There will not be peace until western liberals stop indulging the palestinians in their victimhood and consistently making excuses for their intrasigence and start applying as much pressure on them as they do Israel and demanding the palestinians take responsibility for themselves and comply with agreements, end terrorism and incitement.

Unfortunately we have a president more interested in placating muslims, sparing them hurt feelings and avoiding confrontation with them at all costs, even to the point of spewing a pack of lies in his Cairo speech. Muslim sensibilities, after all, are very fragile. On the other hand, its safe to bully Israel.

“Last Wednesday, just a few blocks down the street, a neo-Nazi opened fire at the Holocaust Museum. He murdered a security guard and terrorized the museum's visitors, including school children, who had come to learn, to express sympathy, to pray. That evil act was the work of a killer who had made his hatred of other religions and ethnic groups well known. And it was a reminder that intolerance, ignorance and anti-Semitism have not yet been defeated in our world.

“This tragedy reminds us of the need for sound understanding of one of the darkest episodes in the history of the world. Far too many misrepresent the significance of the Holocaust, especially in regards to the State of Israel and her people. And far too many deny it happened altogether…

[Though] the Shoah has a central role in Israel's identity, it is not the reason behind its founding and it is not the main justification for its existence. The extreme characterization of this mistaken view is the following: the Western powers established Israel in 1948 based on their own guilt, at the expense of the Arab peoples who lived there. Therefore, the current state is illegitimate and should all be wiped off the face of the map. This flawed argument is not only in defiance of basic human dignity but in plain defiance of history. It is in defiance of ancient history, as told in Biblical texts and through archeological evidence. And it ignores the history of the last several centuries.

…There has been a continuity of Jewish presence in the Holy Land for thousands of years… Jews were repeatedly massacred and expelled, and the departure of so many from the land they had always called home developed into an unparalleled Diaspora. From the 16th century until the early 20th century, the land that is now Israel was under the control of a distant Ottoman caliphate based in Istanbul-and during this time, as earlier, many Jews returned to their ancestral homeland. The Ottoman Empire collapsed after World War I, and the treaty they signed with the Allied Powers granted Great Britain a mandate over the area then known as Palestine.

The League of Nations endorsed and clarified this mandate in 1922, requiring Britain to reconstitute a Jewish national home within the territory they controlled, in accordance with a declaration made by British Foreign Secretary Balfour in 1917, making the restoration of Jewish communities in that area a matter of international law.

By the time World War II had ended, there were more than 600,000 Jews living in the British Mandate of Palestine. In 1947 the United Nations approved a plan to partition the territory into Arab and Jewish states. The Jewish Agency accepted the plan. The Arabs did not.

On May 14, 1948, the State of Israel declared its independence. On May 15, five Arab nations declared war. Despite being surrounded on all sides, Israel prevailed and expanded its borders, providing a small additional measure of security against attacks which were certain to come-and did.

So, to be clear, the more than 700,000 Palestinians who left Israel were refugees of a war instigated by Arab governments, bent on seizing more land for themselves.

This Week's Haveil Havalim

Edition #222 of the Jewish blog carnival Haveil Havalim is being hosted by The Real Shliach.

Iran

For those who continue to make excuses for Obama’s lack of leadership regarding Iran and think we have no business meddling in that country's internal affairs, first of all you have no moral compass. You refuse to support those struggling for freedom while you are enjoying freedom. Secondly we can’t avoid being involved in foreign affairs, what happens abroad directly effects us here at home. The more freedom in the muslim world, the less likely we have to worry about terrorism. The behavior of the islamic regime in Iran has an impact on our own security. If this regime acquires nuclear weapons, then that threatens us, they can either launch an EMP attack or give muslim terrorists nukes who will sneak them into the US. We have an interest in seeing that regime snuffed out and the islamic revolution reversed. The situation in Iran is not something we can simply “stay out” of. This situation has evolved into far more than this single election. Let's hope Iran has a civil war and we finally see an end to that country's islamic theocracy.

American Freedoms Under Siege

Americans had better wake the hell up out of their slumber before one day they find they have lost their country. Between this administration and the hordes of muslim invaders along with feckless political and business leaders eager to give in to their every demand, our freedom and way of life are under seige as never before. We need to heed the warning signs coming out of Europe in order to avoid a similar fate for our own future.

Florida Security Council sues Marriott Corporation over Wilders Free Speech Summit

by Jerry Gordon, The Iconoclast, June 18, 2009

Tom Trento, executive director of the Florida Security Council (FSC) and Rebecca Bynum, New English Review (NER) editor were interviewed by 1330AMWEBY “Your Turn” host Mike Bates and Jerry Gordon, contributing editor of the NER on the eve of the FSC filing its suit against Marriott Corporation for breach of contract. The suit arose as a result of the Marriott Delray Beach operators, Island Properties, Ltd. ejecting the Free Speech Summit in late April that FSC organized honoring Dutch politician and anti-Islamist advocate, Geert Wilders, leader of the PVV (Freedom Party). As we noted in a post this week, the FSC Marriott matter was preceded by an attack against Florida House Majority Leader Rep. Adam Hasner by CAIR and United Voices for America founder, former Tampa CAIR chapter leader, Ahmed Bedier, a one time spokesperson for convicted terror financier, former USF Professor Sami al-Arian. They had the chutzpah to request that Florida Governor Charles Crist ‘fire’ Hasner because of his association with Wilders, the Free Speech Summit and the March 10th rebuttal to Muslim Day at the State Capitol in Tallahassee.

The FSC ejection is analogous to one that the New English Review experienced in late May in Nashville, when the Loews Vanderbilt hotel general manager, Thomas Negri gave notice that it was cancelling a long term contract for the symposium, “Understanding Jihad in Israel, Europe and America”, in part because of a video featuring Wilders remarks extended to attendees. The alleged reason for the Nashvile NER symposium event cancellation by Negri, was to protect the ‘health and safety of its employees and guests”. This breach by Loews is being reviewed for possible action by the New English Review and its parent board, the World Encounter Institute, a 501 c3 tax exempt organization.

This NewsMax.com report, “Counterterrorism Group Sues Marriott Over Wilders Event,”provides background on the FSC suit against Marriott and its implications vis a vis the similar breach by Loews for the NER Nashville symposium.

Israelis Don't Trust Obama

Obviously Israeli Jews, unlike their American Jewish counterparts, have their eyes wide open about Barrack Hussein Obama. Only 6% of Israeli Jews believe Obama is pro-Israel while in America, Jews remain blindly loyal to the Democratic party and the current president regardless of his Mideast policies. Israel happens to be the only country Obama thinks it is ok to meddle in the internal affairs of.

Only 6 percent of Jewish Israelis consider the views of American President Barack Obama's administration pro-Israel, according to a new Jerusalem Post-sponsored Smith Research poll.

The poll, which has a margin of error of 4.5%, was conducted among a representative sample of 500 Israeli Jewish adults this week, following Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's speech in which he expressed his support for a demilitarized Palestinian state.

Another 50% of those sampled consider the policies of Obama's administration more pro-Palestinian than pro-Israeli, and 36% said the policies were neutral. The remaining 8% did not express an opinion.

The numbers were a stark contrast to the last poll published May 17, on the eve of the meeting between Netanyahu and Obama at the White House. In that poll, 31% labeled the Obama administration pro-Israel, 14% considered it pro-Palestinian and 40% said it was neutral. The other 15% declined to give an opinion.

Israelis' views of Obama's predecessor in the White House, George W. Bush, are nearly the opposite. According to last month's poll, 88% of Israelis considered his administration pro-Israel, 7% said Bush was neutral and just 2% labeled him pro-Palestinian.

Geert Wilders Defends Israel

Israel's best friend in Europe Geert Wilders, tries to explain to the clueless Europeans why its necessary for them to stand with Israel, as it is the west's first line of defense.

Israel will be a major part of Geert Wilders’ next film on Islam, the rightist Dutch legislator said last week in an interview for Haaretz. He praised Avigdor Lieberman, observing “similarities” between Yisrael Beiteinu and the Party for Freedom - a small movement which has grown to become Holland’s second most popular.

Wilders, a controversial anti-immigration politician, rose to international fame last year when he released a 14-minute film entitled Fitna, which attempts to portray what he considers as Islam’s “violent nature.” The film, which has been viewed by millions online, provoked mass protests throughout the Muslim world.

It isn’t simply that HE, Wilders, considers islam to be violent in nature, it IS violent in nature, according to what is written in the koran and hadiths.

In April Wilders announced he was working on a sequel. Just as Fitna focused on genocidal anti-Semitism in the Muslim world, Wilders said that the sequel - which focuses on “Islamization in the West” - will show “how the forces of Islamization are specifically targeting Israel in a fight against all free societies.”

He added: “The film will demonstrate that the fight against Israel is not territorial, and hence Israel is only the first line of defense for the West. Now it’s Israel but we are next. That’s why beyond solidarity, it is in Europe’s interest to stand by Israel.”

Wilders is facing criminal charges for allegedly inciting hate by comparing the Koran to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf in the original Fitna film. His party’s dark horse achievement in the European Parliament elections earlier this month, he said, is connected to the judicial system’s decision to prosecute him.

The Party for Freedom - which has only nine seats in Dutch parliament - won five seats in the June 4 European elections, making it the second largest of all Dutch parties in Brussels. A recent poll shows that if elections were held now, the Party would become the country’s largest or second largest.

Described by some as "fascist" and "ultra-nationalist," other Dutch parties have shunned the Party for Freedom, treating it as a pariah movement. However, as its political power climbs, leading centrist politicians are advocating an alliance with Wilders, touching off a heated debate in their parties' ranks.
Read the whole thing
It’s absurd and ironic that those who want to prosecute Wilders for simply speaking critically of islam, refer to his Dutch Freedom Party as fascist. In reality, it is the leftist parties who are fascist.

hamas and hezbollah Brought in to Crush Iranian Revolt

Hamas and hezbollah terrorist thugs are being used as regime enforcers in Iran to quell the uprising. The average Iranian despises the palestinians for being aligned with the islamist regime and beating Iranian citizens on their own streets fighting to bring freedom and genuine democracy to their country.

Yesterday, there were suggestions that Hezbollah forces were being brought into Iran to help put down the revolt against the regime. Today, as reports seep out of the brutality being meted out to the protesters – the anonymous post here at 6.03 pm is particularly affecting – which suggest that the casualty toll is far higher than has so far been claimed, the Jerusalem Post reports that Palestinian Hamas thugs have been imported into Iran to crush the uprising:

On Tuesday two protesters told The Jerusalem Post that Palestinian Hamas members are helping the Iranian authorities crush street protests in support of Mousavi... ‘The most important thing that I believe people outside of Iran should be aware of,’ the young man went on, ‘is the participation of Palestinian forces in these riots.’

Another protester, who spoke as he carried a kitchen knife in one hand and a stone in the other, also cited the presence of Hamas in Teheran. On Monday, he said, ‘my brother had his ribs beaten in by those Palestinian animals. Taking our people's money is not enough, they are thirsty for our blood too.’

It was ironic, this man said, that the victorious Ahmadinejad ‘tells us to pray for the young Palestinians, suffering at the hands of Israel.’ His hope, he added, was that Israel would ‘come to its senses’ and ruthlessly deal with the Palestinians. When asked if these militia fighters could have been mistaken for Lebanese Shi'ites, sent by Hizbullah, he rejected the idea. ‘Ask anyone, they will tell you the same thing. They [Palestinian extremists] are out beating Iranians in the streets… The more we gave this arrogant race, the more they want… [But] we will not let them push us around in our own country.’

It would indeed be ironic if, while Obama is putting the thumbscrews on Israel to facilitate a Palestinian state as a precondition for America getting tough with Iran, the Palestinians are being used to keep the Iranian regime in power.

Hamas is, of course, an arm of the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood. The Iranians are Shi’ites, the supposed deadly foes of the Sunni. Hamas is, however, known to receive funding, arms and terrorist training from Iran, an alliance which has been dismissed as implausible by those who appear never to have heard of the Molotov /Ribbentrop pact. But then, the refusal to grasp that the real agenda behind the violence in the Middle East is the brutal imposition of Islamic theocracy, first upon the region and then upon the world, is the tragic delusion of the west -- which extends now all the way into the Oval Office.

Jimmy Carter: hamas Shill

Jimmy Carter's latest insane idea is for the US to remove hamas from its list of terrorist groups. Not only that, but he is acting as a go-between, sending messages to hamas from the hussein obama administration. Not surprisingly, hamas admires and respects Carter and is pleased with the new hussein obama administration. Carter should have been put out to pasture years ago, but this crazy, dangerous and mendacious administration is instead bringing him and his spectacularly failed policies back to the forefront of Mideast affairs. If using Carter doesn't finally prove to liberal Jews obama's malicious intent toward Israel, then nothing will.

Why is it that Obama refuses to meddle in the internal affairs of Iran but has no problem interfering in Israel's internal affairs, going so far as dictating where Jews should live?

'Obama administration sent message to Hamas'
Official with terror group says Carter 'right person' to serve as middle man

Jimmy Carter

JERUSALEM – Former President Jimmy Carter passed a message to Hamas from the Obama administration, according to senior sources in the Islamist group.

The sources did not disclose the content of the purported message or whether the communication was written or oral. They spoke on condition of anonymity, because they said Hamas had not yet reached a decision on officially releasing the information they were divulging.

Separately, in an interview with WND today, Ahmed Yousef, Hamas' chief political adviser in Gaza, refused to confirm or deny that any message was passed to his group from the White House.

Youssef said, however, Carter is the "right person" to serve as a middle man between Hamas and the Obama administration.

"If we have anything to communicate, Carter will be the right person to convey messages from the movement (Hamas) to this (Obama) administration or from the administration to the movement," said Yousef, speaking from Gaza.

Yousef told WND he spent three hours with Carter today, holding private meetings and also showing the former president areas of Gaza that were damaged during Israel's 22-day campaign against Hamas that ended in January.

"He promised he will write a report to explain what really is happening in Gaza," said Yousef.

Separately, Mushir al-Masri, a member of Hamas' parliament and a spokesman for the Islamist group, said in a joint interview with WND and Israel's Ynetnews.com, "We know Carter is not acting alone. He is acting as part of the large American system."

Masri refused to confirm or deny whether Carter passed any message to his group from Obama.

Still, he claimed Hamas has "excellent relations with elements in the circle of the decision making in the U.S. administration."

Europe Tough on Israel, Soft on hamas

The EU drops its quartet demands. Not for Israel, mind you, but for hamas. These demands being the recognition of Israel, ending terrorism and accepting previous PA agreements with Israel. But the feckless Europeans won't even stick by those minimalist demands. However Israel is still expected to acquiesce to the maximal demands of the palestinians, taking risks with its security by surrendering territory and ethnically cleansing Jews from parts of Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria. Why is the west squeezing Israel while easing up on hamas? They are completely morally bankrupt. Just as selling out Czechoslovakia to the nazis did not pacify hitler but instead caused him to become more belligerent, sacrificing Israel to muslim terrorists will not cause them to stop waging jihad on the west.

In what is perceived in Jerusalem as a mistaken effort to give Hamas room to maneuver, the EU's 27 foreign ministers, in a statement issued Monday, did not call, as in the past, for Hamas to forswear terrorism, recognize Israel or accept previous PLO agreements with Israel.

Government sources in Jerusalem said France led the efforts to keep what has become known as the Quartet's three conditions on Hamas from being included in the European Council's conclusions on the Middle East peace process.

Instead, the statement said the foreign ministers expressed "continued encouragement for inter-Palestinian reconciliation behind [Palestinian Authority] President Mahmoud Abbas and support for the mediation efforts by Egypt and the Arab League."

The foreign ministers called "on all Palestinians to find common ground, based on nonviolence, in order to facilitate reconstruction in Gaza and the organization of elections."

Apologist for Iran's Mullahs

Last night Bill O'Reilly had on the repugnant anti-Israel former CIA officer michael scheuer. He basically acted as an apologist for the Iranian mullah regime warning us not to encourage a civil war in that country and blamed Israel (along with the Arab states) of fomenting instability in Iran. Scheuer also of course accused Israel of trying to get the US to go to war with Iran and O'Reilly assured him that Obama made it clear to Bibi that he would not back him if he attacked Iran's nuclear facilities. Well Bill, if you think Israel is going to risk national suicide by sitting back and allowing Iran to acquire nuclear weapons because hussein obama forbids it to act, you've got another thing coming. Scheuer is one of those foreign policy establishment "realists" who believes stability outweighs freedom and genuine democracy for the people of Iran. Or perhaps he just wants the mullahs and ahmadenijad around long enough to wipe Israel off the map. I'm disgusted that O'Reilly gives this guy a platform unchallenged and responded in that manner to his hysterical anti-Israel paranoia.

Bibi's Speech

With Bibi Netanyahu's speech, he has effectively placed the onus on the palestinians. He has called their bluff and so far predictably, they have indicated once again that they are not interested in statehood, but the destruction of Israel. For Bibi to have rejected a palestinian state outright in his speech would not have been smart politically. He knows they will not meet his demands so there is nothing to lose while at the same time it will be hard for the west to accuse Bibi of being the one who’s intransigent and an obstacle to peace. Of course the left will still attempt to make that claim in which case they will reveal themselves as not being in favor of Palestinian statehood so much as the obliteration of Israel as a Jewish state, just like the Arab muslims. After all, what is there to oppose regarding Bibi's reasonable conditions for Palestinian statehood?

CAIR Thwarts Investigation into Missing Somali Youths

Some Minneapolis area Somalis protested against the pro-jihad front group CAIR, which is trying to prevent an FBI investigation into missing Somali youths who were recruited for jihad and taken abroad. A local mosque and islamic community center is said to be involved. CAIR is attempting to intimidate local Somalis from coming forward and speaking with the FBI. Now given that CAIR is actively involved in obstructing an FBI investigation and protecting those who are kidnapping kids and taking them abroad to be used for waging jihad, why isn't this group being shut-down? Good for those Somalis who refuse to be intimidated by CAIR and refuse to remain silent about their children being recruited for jihad. Instead of siding with the parents, CAIR is aligning itself with the terrorist recruiters. No surprise there to anyone who knows what CAIR really stands for.

Family of Minneapolis recruit murdered by Somali Al Shabaab terror group protest CAIR

by Jerry Gordon, The Iconoclast, June 12, 2009

American Burhan Hassan slain in Somalia by Al Shabaab
Family, relatives and friends protested the Minneapolis Chapter of CAIR for thwarting an FBI investigation into the murder last week of Burhan Hassan by Al Shabaab terrorists in Mogadishu, who had recruited him. We had posted on the unfortunate killing of 18 year old Hassan, who had attended Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, as did suicide bomber Shirwa Ahmed who took the lives of 29 others in Somalia last year. The FBI wants to find out who recruited and transported Ahmed and 20 other missing Minneapolis youths to Somalia to join the Taliban-like Al Shabaab militia. Al Shabaab was designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the State Department in 2008.

The Star Tribune report notes:
About 50 people protested Thursday outside the Brian Coyle Community Center in Minneapolis, where the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Minnesota chapter held an ice cream social.

Abdirizak Bihi is an uncle of 18-year-old Burhan Hassan, who relatives say was killed in Somalia last week. Bihi and others say CAIR is discouraging Somalis from coming forward.

“We don’t want anyone to come into our community and tell us to shut up,” Bihi said. “Law enforcement will not be able to do anything without information from the community.”

About 50 people attended the rally, waving signs and hollering, “CAIR out! Doublespeak out!”

CAIR Minnesota has encouraged anyone interviewed by the FBI to have a lawyer present. A CAIR spokeswoman says the effort isn’t to discourage cooperation, but rather to ensure that civil rights are protected.

The FBI investigation into the missing men is ongoing. Authorities believe they went to Somalia to fight for terror groups.

The uncle of slain Burhan Hassan, Osman Ahmed had this to say:

….some in the family believe CAIR has aligned itself too closely with mosques where some believe the missing boys may have been influenced to leave.

“They are supporting the groups we suspect of recruiting our kids,” Ahmed said. “We refuse to be silent.”

In a recent presentation, “Foot Soldiers of Islam” at the New English Review Nashville symposium, “Understanding Jihad in Israel, Europe and America”, we examined the role of radical Imams and Mosques, like those in Minneapolis, in recruiting naturalized Somali American youths like the late Hassan. In the wake of Hassan’s murder, we suggested that Senator Lieberman, chair of the US Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee re-open investigations into this home grown terrorist threat. Now that CAIR, the Muslim brotherhood front, has been found thwarting FBI investigations, we believe their role in this unfortunate affair deserves scrutiny, as well.

This Week's Haveil Havalim

Edition #221 of the Jewish blog carnival Haveil Havalim is being hosted by Ima on (and off) the Bima.

Genocidal Madman Retains Iranian Presidency

It’s good that ahmadenijad "won". Better to have a crazy nut representing Iran who openly states Iranian aims to wipe out Israel then to have someone more politically savvy who would pose as a moderate and reformer to the gullible west. This editorial shares my outlook.

No Change In Iran

IBD editorial, June 12, 2009

Iran: A huge turnout in the tens of millions is focusing world attention on Iran’s election. But a new, ayatollah-approved “moderate” president would only disguise Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

A handful of presidential candidates preapproved by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei vied for Iranians’ votes on Friday. Final results on whether incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or his main rival, former prime minister Mir Hossein Mousavi, is the victor are yet to come.

Intense media focus on the contest is misleading many to believe a Mousavi win would be good news. But would it?

Unfortunately, those in the forefront of spreading delusional wishful thinking about this election can be found at the highest levels of the Obama administration.

According to the president, speaking with reporters at the White House on Friday, there “appears to be a robust debate taking place in Iran” that “hopefully will help advance our ability to engage them in new ways.” He said, “you’re seeing people looking at new possibilities,” and “we think there’s the possibility of change.”

Not to be outdone in the breezy optimism, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called it “a very positive sign that the people of Iran want their voices and their votes to be heard and counted.”

Of course, every country’s people want their views listened to and their ballots accurately tallied. That “positive sign” has been the case in Iran, whose people are among the most modern in the Muslim world, for 30 years of Islamist revolutionary rule and longer.

But their obvious aspirations for liberty and prosperity are beside the real point: namely, that the illusion of a new, supposedly centrist president could easily lull the world even further away from the reality that this Islamofascist regime is — and will continue to be — on a fast track toward possession of nuclear weapons.

Just last Thursday, diplomats said Tehran denied a request from the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency for video surveillance at the uranium facility at Natanz. That comes after the IAEA was denied access to Iran’s heavy water plant at Arak, over which a new containment roof will conceal any nuclear weapons activities within. Experts say Iran’s 7,000-plus centrifuges can produce fuel for two bombs by December.

In his campaign, Mousavi promised no military nuclear program, but he also says he will allow no delays on uranium enrichment. He told the Financial Times that “technical negotiations” will resolve international objections.

What’s more, IAEA documents show that Tehran actually first took to the international black market to buy centrifuges while Mousavi was prime minister in 1987, eventually obtaining them, thanks to rogue Pakistani scientist A.Q. Khan. Some “moderate.”

The real opponents in Iran are either in jail or on the street organizing demonstrations; they are not being approved for presidential candidacy by the ayatollahs. The worst scenario is a phony moderate as Iran’s president making a deal with the U.S. to let this terror state continue its progress toward nuclear weapons.

Jewish Liberals and Obama

I'm infuriated with liberal Jews who chose to believe what Obama was telling them regarding his support for Israel rather than relying on his lifelong associations and obvious affinities for the muslim world given his own background. And they are still relying on what Obama tells them rather than what he is doing regarding Israel policy. Jews have got to end this blind loyalty to the democratic party. Now some Jews have expressed disappointment with Obama's Cairo speech.

The False Messiah

The most dangerous things about hussein obama is that he considers himself messianic, above America and the world, anointed to change it. He also does not consider his priority to be the protection and defense of America, but to be neutral and unbiased, to give the point of view of our enemies equal value. You see, he is not an American patriot but a citizen of the world.

Hovering on High: Obama Surveys the World
By Charles Krauthammer

WASHINGTON -- When President Obama returned from his first European trip, I observed that while over there he had been "acting the philosopher-king who hovers above the fray mediating" between America and the world. Now that Obama has returned from his "Muslim world" pilgrimage, even the left agrees. "Obama's standing above the country, above -- above the world. He's sort of God," Newsweek's Evan Thomas said to a concurring Chris Matthews, reflecting on Obama's lofty perception of himself as the great transcender.

Not that Obama considers himself divine. (He sees himself as merely messianic, or, at worst, apostolic.) But he does position himself as hovering above mere mortals, mere country, to gaze benignly upon the darkling plain beneath him where ignorant armies clash by night, blind to the common humanity that only he can see. Traveling the world, he brings the gospel of understanding and godly forbearance. We have all sinned against each other. We must now look beyond that and walk together to the sunny uplands of comity and understanding. He shall guide you. Thus:

(A) He told Iran that, on the one hand, America once helped overthrow an Iranian government, while on the other hand "Iran has played a role in acts of hostage-taking and violence against U.S. troops and civilians." (Played a role?!) We have both sinned; let us bury the past and begin anew.

(B) On religious tolerance, he gently referenced the Christians of Lebanon and Egypt, then lamented that the "divisions between Sunni and Shia have led to tragic violence" (note the use of the passive voice). He then criticized (in the active voice) Western religious intolerance for regulating the wearing of the hijab -- after citing America for making it difficult for Muslims to give to charity.

(C) Obama offered Muslims a careful admonition about women's rights, noting how denying women education impoverishes a country -- balanced, of course, with "meanwhile, the struggle for women's equality continues in many aspects of American life."

Well, yes. On the one hand, there certainly is some American university where the women's softball team has received insufficient Title IX funds -- while, on the other hand, Saudi women showing ankle are beaten in the street, Afghan school girls have acid thrown in their faces, and Iranian women are publicly stoned to death for adultery. (Gays, as well -- but then again we have Prop 8.) We all have our shortcomings, our national foibles. Who's to judge?

That's the problem with Obama's transcultural evenhandedness. It gives the veneer of professorial sophistication to the most simple-minded observation: Of course there are rights and wrongs in all human affairs. Our species is a fallen one. But that doesn't mean that these rights and wrongs are of equal weight.

Joe Klein Says Talk to hamas

In Time magazine Joe Klein advocates the US talk to hamas. This is the reason that islamists are on the ascent globally, due to a morally depraved western media and so many morally depraved souls in government who cannot or will not distinguish between terrorists and free nations, especially when it comes to Israel vs her enemies. To them there are no distinctions to be made, they are equally culpable for the turmoil in the Mideast, in fact they go much further in that Israel is considered the primary guilty party. I am confounded as to why so many in the west view Israel as the bad guy in a region of despots, terrorists and dictators perpetrating bloodshed and oppression while Israel stands out as the sole free, peaceful nation. There is no logical explanation for this outlook.

Comment by Lori Lowenthal Marcus
Email your response to Time Magazine RIGHT NOW, share with them your view, in a polite (really, I know it will be hard but we want the letters to be printed or at least read by people who do not share our unbiased opinion) but firm fashion, why it is outrageous for Joe Klein and Time to endorse the Hamas view that only Israel must make any concessions, that Israeli efforts at security are “inhumane,” that the Palestinian narrative is utterly factually flawed (use one or two of your favorite examples such as no Palestinian state in history, including when Egypt and Jordan controlled the disputed territories), the land acquired by Israel in a defensive war is rightfully hers - no other country in history which won such a war has ever turned over land to tan aggressor who lost the war, the territories in dispute were not the province of a sovereign nation prior to 1967, the Hamas Charter is dedicated to the destruction of Israel, Hamas has and continues to use women and children as both human bombs and as human shields….etc. etc.

To send your response, go to the following site, scroll down the column on the left to Email the Editor, and explain why Klein’s endorsement of a murderous (even if “handsome”), murder-endorsing madman is reprehensible.

HERE IS THE EMAIL I SENT:

To the Editor

It is astounding that Joe Klein would conclude an interview with Khaled Mashaal - during which Mashaal told him that he does not accept, even de facto, a Jewish state called Israel - that Pres. Obama should only pressure Israel because it has “greater power and resources” and because Gazans are unable to rebuild itself, despite the millions of dollars UNWRA receives from the US and from the rest of the world, none of which it has earned; despite the fact that a dozen, mostly Jewish, people paid millions of dollars in 2005 for state-of-the-art greenhouses so that thousands of Gazans could be employed and they could have a functioning economy, everything was destroyed in an orgy of violence and destruction; despite Mashaal telling Klein point blank that he refuses to yield on any of the requirements placed on Hamas by our president, Klein announces: “there will be no peace without Hamas as part of the process”? Could Mashaal, and his party’s Charter, be any clearer that they have no intention of ever implementing any movement towards peace? And Klein wants to empower these people because he can’t think of anything else? Thank goodness Klein is not a politician. And he shouldn’t be a journalist either, he seems more suited for a career in fiction, maybe even science fiction.

Who's Really to Blame for the Holocaust Museum Shooting

I'm hearing that liberals actually have the audacity to blame conservatives for the shooting at the Holocaust museum. Yet it is the left who has spent the last eight years demonizing Israel and Zionism in the worst way, crossing the line into outright anti-Semitism. It is the left which has falsely accused Israel of perpetrating "war crimes" and "genocide". It is the left which has been spinning conspiracy theories of an omnipotent Jewish-Zionist lobby controlling our government and getting us into wars and blaming Zionists, i.e. Jews, for muslim terrorism. It is the left who alongside muslims have marched and sponsored anti-war and anti-Israel protests waving hezbollah and hamas flags and shouting "we are all hezbollah" or "we are all hamas" and coining hideous terms like "zionazi". It is the left along with their islamist fellow travelers which have agitated against Jews and other supporters of Israel on college campuses featuring events such as the inflammatory and misnamed "Israel apartheid week" and it is leftist faculty and student groups on campus who have attempted to organize boycotts, divestment and sanctions against the state of Israel. And it is the left which is a proponent of the ethnic cleansing of Jews in parts of Israel. If liberals want to place blame on anyone, they ought to look in their own backyard. Just read the comments section of blogs like the dailykos or the huffington post whenever there is an entry about Israel or the Middle East. It is riddled with hundreds of anti-Semitic comments. So I find it galling that liberals can actually blame this terrible incident on conservatives when conservatives have been the ones defending Jews and Israel from the left's blood libels. Clearly it is the liberal left who have created this ugly climate of anti-Semitism.

Obama Supports the Ethnic Cleansing of Jews

We should call what Obama is doing in dictating to Israel to halt settlement growth what it actually is, the ethnic cleansing of Jews. Liberals are actually supporting a policy of ethnic cleansing and apartheid and must be confronted about this. Whenever liberals talk about dismantling settlements, the response ought to be "why are you in favor of ethnic cleansing against the Jews and for the creation of an apartheid state of Palestine"?

Obama tells Jews where they can live

Barack Obama is taking what he and his administration refer to as "a more balanced approach to Middle East policy."

Let me explain what that literally means in real terms.

It means the U.S. government is now using its clout with Israel to insist Jews, not Israelis, mind you, but Jews, be disallowed from living in East Jerusalem and the historically Jewish lands of Judea and Samaria, often referred to as the West Bank.

I want you to try to imagine the outrage, the horror, the outcry, the clamoring, the gnashing of teeth that would ensue if Arabs or Muslims were told they could no longer live in certain parts of Israel – let alone their own country.

Of course, that would never happen with "a more balanced approach to the Middle East."

It's the 1930s all over again. This time, it's the enlightened liberal voices of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama who are telling Jews where they can live, how they can live and how far they must bend if they want to live at all.

I know you haven't heard it put like this before. I don't really understand why. There is simply no other accurate way to explain the machinations behind the latest demands on Israel from the West and the rest of the world.

Israel is being reduced to "Auschwitz borders." Jews have already been told they can no longer live in the Gaza Strip. Now they are being told they can no longer choose to live in any of the areas being set aside by international elites for a future Palestinian state.

Again, I ask, "Why would internationalists seek to create, by definition, a racist, anti-Jewish state that doesn't even tolerate the mere presence of Jews?"

Can anyone answer that question for me?

Obama and Clinton – and, thus, by definition, you and me, the taxpayers of the United States – have determined they will yield to the racist, bigoted, anti-Semitic demands of the Palestinian Authority that no Jews be allowed to live in their new state.

I like to think that in any other part of the world, this kind of effort at ethnically cleansing a region would be roundly condemned by all civilized people. Yet, because most people simply don't understand the clear, official plan by the Arab leaders to force out all Jews from the new Palestinian state, the policies of capitulation retain a degree of sympathy, even political support, from much of the world.

Think about what I am saying: It is the official policy of the Palestinian Authority that all Jews must get off the land! Why is the United States supporting the creation of a new, racist, anti-Semitic hate state? Why is the civilized world viewing this as a prescription for peace in the region? Why is this considered an acceptable idea?

Is there any other place in the world where that kind of official policy of racism and ethnic cleansing is tolerated – even condoned?

Why are the rules different in the Middle East? Why are the rules different for Arabs? Why are the rules different for Muslims?

Why are U.S. tax dollars supporting the racist, anti-Semitic entity known as the Palestinian Authority?

That's what we do when we forbid "settlement construction," repairs, natural growth, additions to existing communities.

General Petraeus Troublesome Comment on hezbollah

General Petraeus makes a worrisome statement claiming hezbollah only exists because of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. hezbollah would not disappear if an islamic terror state was created adjacent to Israel carved out of Jewish land. If anything, such a state would strengthen hezbollah and be used as a another launching pad for their terrorist activities. These terrorist activities which have a global reach as far away as South America. Furthermore hezbollah also exists because it wants to turn Lebanon into a sharia state. This point of view is indeed very disturbing coming from Patraeus. It's likely he is being ordered to say this. It's obvious the hussein obama regime is setting Israel up to be the scapegoat for regional and global turmoil should it not submit to hussein obama's demands and surrender vital territory to the palestinian muslim terrorists.

First, allow a disclaimer: Along with Gens. James Mattis and Ray Odierno, I consider Gen. David Petraeus to be our finest military leader today — indeed, amongst the best in American history. His implementation of the surge strategy in Iraq, a counterinsurgency doctrine he literally authored, was one of the greatest military triumphs in U.S. history and constituted one of the most dramatic turnarounds in the history of warfare. That is not an overstatement. After almost four years of a seemingly endless insurgency, Gen. Petraeus saved the war effort in Iraq; needless to say, he has earned his military pension when he retires — including the gratitude of all Americans and all Iraqis.

Like most Americans, I take what Petraeus says very seriously. Now that he is in charge of CENTCOM, his overall responsibilities include all of the Middle East. At 8:00 a.m., Petraeus might be on the phone with a Saudi prince to talk about back-channel financing of al-Qaeda; at 9:00 a.m., he might be speaking with a Pakistani diplomat to talk about economic development; at 10:00 a.m., he might be on the phone with an Afghan warlord to talk about security; at 11:00 a.m., he might speak with Gen. Odierno or Prime Minister Maliki about Iraq. He is ultimately responsible for the Iraqi and Afghan wars and would be in charge of a hypothetical confrontation with Iran. In essence, Petraeus is the decisive ambassador to the entire region.

Petraeus is a respected man, whose opinions are highly valued and held in high esteem — which makes his recent comment about the terrorist group Hezbollah all the more surprising. Just prior to the Lebanese elections — elections that Hezbollah lost, thank goodness — Gen. Petraeus spoke with the Arabic-language al-Hayat newspaper, published by the Lebanese Daily Star, and blamed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for the existence of Hezbollah. “Hezbollah’s justifications for existence will become void,” Petraeus said, “if the Palestinian cause is resolved.”

It is unclear what Petraeus meant by this statement. While he has earned the benefit of the doubt, if Petraeus truly meant what he apparently said, this is a highly discouraging revelation. The idea that the Palestinian “plight” is Hezbollah’s casus belli is so far from the truth, and so detached from reality, it is hard to believe Petraeus actually thinks this. Perhaps there was a mistranslation? Perhaps Petraeus was making shrewd statements for domestic Lebanese consumption — attempting to undermine Hezbollah by painting them as more concerned for Palestinians than the Lebanese people, just ahead of Lebanon’s elections? All of this is possible.

Israel Won't Stop Natural Growth

It's a good sign that Israel told George Mitchell that it won't halt natural growth in settlements. On the other hand there is this:
Meanwhile, in what was intended to be a major policy address at the Council for Peace and Security in Ramat Gan, Barak praised Obama as “assertive, self-confident and hugely popular” and said Israel should cooperate with him in the pursuit of an all-inclusive regional accord.

What hussein obama is, is a narcissist and a megalomaniac. Why does Ehud Barak see the need to suck up to this guy?

Barak called Obama’s efforts to bring an an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict “an exceptional opportunity,” and said it would be right for Israel to adequately consider its path and properly navigate inside this series of challenges and opportunities.”

“It would not be right for Israel to get in the way of American efforts to form a Palestinian state according to the vision of two states for two peoples,” Barak said. “There is no guarantee that the attempt to establish two states would succeed, because it is not dependent only on Israel. But our government must fulfill the obligations of previous ones. Preventing negotiations on a Palestinian state could lead to there being one state for two peoples.”

Barak stressed that Israel and the US were allowed to disagree, but he expressed hope that if Israel worked correctly, it could become fully coordinated with Obama’s government on diplomatic issues.

Does Ehud Barak have a modicum of pride and self-respect? Obviously not since he believes Israel should take orders from hussein obama instead of acting like a self-respecting sovereign nation.

Arrogant Punk and His Minions

Israeli leaders desperately need to tell this muslim bastard occupying the American people's White House under false pretenses, to take a hike. Israel is going to need leadership with the fortitude to defy this false messiah as well as withstand the unbearable pressure and isolation by the world community who will be standing alongside hussein obama as he works to dismantle Israel piece by piece and hand it over to the muslim wolves. Hopefully a Republican takeover of Congress next year can stop this dangerous man in his tracks.

Israel's Channel One TV reported that Netanyahu was told Tuesday by an "American official" in Jerusalem that, "We are going to change the world. Please, don't interfere." The report said Netanyahu's aides interpreted this as a "threat."

Israeli leaders need to tell these malcontents in the administration in no uncertain terms that whatever socialist or muslim new world it envisions will most certainly not be at the expense of Israel. Obama needs to finally be put in his place.

The Forgotten Jewish Refugees

The Arab countries who opposed the UN partition resolution in 1947 to divide the remainder of Palestine into Jewish and Arab states (there already had been an Arab state, Jordan, created in Palestine years earlier out of the original Palestine mandate from 1922 which was to be set aside for the reconstitution of the Jewish homeland) and instead invaded Israel, are fully responsible for the displacement of those Arab refugees. Yet the international community holds Israel responsible and it is Israel who is expected to relinquish territory to provide them with a state. Why isn't the international community demanding that the Arab countries take them in since they are responsible for their plight? And what is wrong with Israeli political leadership which refuses to assert their country's rights to their land?

While there is so much whining and media focus paid to the self-inflicted plight of these so-called "palestinian refugees, little to nothing is mentioned about the hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees from Arab lands who were expelled, their property and belongings confiscated. When will these people be compensated? It's time attention was given to this issue.

Miranda Rights For Terrorists

Someone needs to remind these crazies in the hussein obama administration that the rules which apply to American citizens accused of crimes on American soil do not apply to foreign enemies waging war against America. Foreign terrorists captured on foreign battlefields during a war ARE NOT ENTITLED TO AMERICAN CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. Yet the hussein obama administration wants taliban and al qaeda terrorists who are captured in Afghanistan to be entitled to miranda rights. This is beyond insane. This could only come from a president who is more than willing to sacrifice the security of America and the safety of American soldiers in order to curry favor with the muslim world. I'm certain al qaeda and the taliban are having a good laugh at us.

Vindication of the Bush Doctrine

The much maligned and despised Bush administration continues to be vindicated by events in the Middle East as voters in Lebanon and elsewhere have rejected the islamists. Don't hold your breath waiting for liberals to acknowledge that Bush was right. Unfortunately I expect Hussein Obama will reverse these gains since he is more interested in flattering the islamists than fighting them.

by Amir Taheri, New York Post, June 9, 2009

Less than three days after President Obama tried to woo Islamist forces with a major speech in Cairo, secular democratic forces in the Middle East won a dramatic victory in a crucial election in Lebanon.

Two rival blocs faced off — one pro-Iranian, one pro-Western.

The March 8 Coalition is led by Hezbollah (The Party of God), a semi-clandestine Shiite outfit with a private army financed and controlled by Iran. Also in the bloc: the Amal (Hope) Movement, a pro-Syrian Shiite group; a Maronite Christian group led by ex-Gen. Michel Aoun (a populist megalomaniac who was Tehran’s handpicked but unsuccessful candidate for the Lebanese presidency last year), and the Armenian Dashnak Party, a Fascist group with historic ties to German Nazis and Italian fascists of the 1930s and 1940s.

The secularist democratic bloc, known as the March 18 Coalition, includes the Future Movement led by Sa’ad Hariri (son of assassinated Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri), as well as the Progressive Socialist Party of Druze leader Walid Jumblatt and two Maronite Christian parties (led by ex-President Amin Gemayel and former guerrilla leader Samir Geagea).

In the five years it has held the government (led by Prime Minister Fouad Siniora), the March 18 Coalition has forced Syria to end its 29-year military presence in Lebanon — and resisted mounting Iranian pressure to transform Lebanon into a frontline bunker for a war on Israel.

Sunday’s general election offered Lebanon a clear choice between becoming an Iranian satellite or a Western ally. The results show a decisive rejection of the Iranian option.

Brokaw Equates Palestinians With Holocaust Victims

NBC news along with MSNBC is an abomination, filled with moral degenerates and should no longer be taken seriously as a legitimate news outlet. Tom Brokaw asked this revolting question to Obama:

BROKAW: What can the Israelis learn from your visit to Buchenwald? And what should they be thinking about their treatment of Palestinians?

OBAMA: Well, look, there's no equivalency here.

The lesson to be learned from Buchenwald is that Israel should not appease or surrender territory for the creation of a state for those who's goal is to perpetrate a second holocaust.

The msm in general consists of far left propaganda and cannot be trusted especially when it comes to reporting on the Middle East. Is it any wonder why so many westerners have such a distorted picture of the Arab-Israeli conflict?

Muslim Shoots Christian

Here is yet another muslim act of violence which has been ignored by the msm. In San Diego, a muslim shot a Christian over a religious argument they had in a bar. What are the chances this story would have been ignored by the national media had it been the other way around?

Never Talk About Religion in a Bar

By Michelle Wayland
NBCSanDiego.com
What started as an argument over religion at a bar escalated when one man shot another five times overnight, as the victim's sister watched in horror.

Toni Simpson says she was waiting for her brother, Ernest McCullough, 29, in the 3800block of Van Dyke Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. after a night of drinking at Nancy's Pub. She was listening to the pair argue over religion but never thought it would lead to what happened next.

"He pulled up his shirt and it looked like a knife and it was a gun. He pulled it out and shot him,” she said.

Simpson says she was so shocked that she blacked out after the first two rounds were fired. When she came around she saw her brother covered in blood.

"I said ‘he shot you?’ And he said ‘yeah, he shot me’ and then he fell to the ground," Simpson said.

The victim, who is Christian, was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital in serious condition but is expected to be okay.

The suspect, who Simpson says was of Muslim faith, remains at large.

Jewish Liberals Harm Israel's Cause

Liberal Jews can be our own worst enemies by undermining Israel's legitimate rights and advocating on behalf of policies which aid the enemies of Israel. No Jew should be advocating for a two-state solution. Explain to me the logic in providing statehood to those who still have not accepted the right of the Jewish state to exist and thus seek its descruction? Why give a state to people who’s leaders and culture still incite hatred and violence against Jews and still actively engage in terror? Why create a state which will be nothing more than another islamic terror state? What have the so-called “palestinians” showed that makes them deserving of statehood? Whenever Israel relinquished land it was used as a launching base for terror. Never have the palestinians acted to develop an economy or a democratic political system or any institutions which would make it a viable, peaceful state. Time and time again, these people have proven themselves unready for statehood, yet liberals persist.

Its funny that liberals who falsely accuse Israel of being an apartheid state, are actually the ones supporting apartheid. They are taking the position that there are certain places in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria where Jews should not be allowed to live. They don't even see the injustice and irony in taking this position.

American Jewish Complicity in Marginalizing Israeli Advocacy

By Matthew M. Hausman

During his recent visit to the White House, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu informed President Obama that Israel would not endorse a Palestinian state or put a blanket freeze on “settlements.” The Prime Minister was not as obsequious as his predecessor in lauding the Saudi initiative, or in assenting in advance to further Israeli concessions despite the Palestinians’ abject failure to honor any obligations under the Road Map, minimal though they were. Mr. Obama clearly wanted more from Netanyahu before travelling to Cairo to make a major policy address in which he attempted, among other, things ingratiate himself to the Arab-Muslim world and adopted the Arab narrative linking the creation of Israel to the Holocaust. The knee-jerk reaction of many American Jews was to label Mr. Netanyahu a far right extremist.

In referring to Mr. Netanyahu’s government as right wing, American critics misstate his personal history and his political evolution. It is certainly true that Netanyahu is not a dove and is not willing to engage in further negotiations and concessions that will endanger Israel at a critical point in her history. And it is likewise true that he is vocal in his criticism of the Palestinians’ refusal to fulfill even their de minis obligations to cease engaging in incitement, to recognize Israel’s right to exist, and to disavow terrorism. But these positions do not make him a far right extremist, and don’t even place him at the same end of the political spectrum as Avigdor Lieberman. Rather, they put him squarely in the Israeli mainstream.

If anything, Bibi’s refusal to grovel offers a sobering counterbalance to the prior willingness of Olmert, Livni and Kadima to agree to the establishment of a hostile state, to give credence to a mendacious national narrative that contradicts Jewish history, and to ignore the continuing Arab refusal to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist or her character as a Jewish state.

American Jewish liberals routinely call for dialogue with the Palestinians out of some twisted concept of fairness. However, they are blind to the rejectionism that permeates the Arab street and Islamic thought, and their instincts are colored by an insipid ideology that on some level accepts the canard that Israel is a colonial power. Just as Mr. Obama travels the world apologizing for American arrogance, these voices blame Israel for the dysfunction in the Arab world. Moreover, in the spirit of “dialogue” they tolerate those who denounce Zionism as an ideology tinged with bigotry and racism, while refusing to criticize Arab antisemitism. These voices have lost sight of the Israeli electorate’s clear rejection of unrequited dialogue as na├»ve, dangerous and untenable.

Still, when Israelis have the temerity to question the wisdom of a two-state solution, reject the demand to cease building “settlements” in historically Jewish areas, or refuse to make further concessions in the absence of any reciprocity, liberals label them “right wingers” in order to marginalize them and influence Jewish America to reject them. Most American Jews are liberal Democrats and have a natural revulsion to anything deemed “right wing,” regardless of whether the label fits. This behavioral response is deeply ingrained, and begs the question whether it is an expression of deeply held (albeit misguided) beliefs, or simply a perverse ghetto mentality that restrains Jews from freely lobbying for their own interests.

Much has been written lately about J Street, Jewish Voice for Peace, and the growing chorus that claims to be pro-Israel while incongruously lending credence to those who seek her destruction. But what of the stalwart organizations that for so long have been identified with strong advocacy of the Israeli position and Jewish interests? What of AIPAC and the ADL? Sadly, these organizations have become creaky and meek, and seem addled when attempting to confront the leftist tide that has hijacked much of the political discourse regarding Israel.

Despite its long history of service and advocacy, AIPAC shocked many of its boosters when it abandoned Keith Weissman and Steve Rosen, the AIPAC lobbyists who were indicted on trumped up charges of espionage for passing along to Israel information given to them by government contacts with whom they routinely dialogued. The information involved Israeli security issues, and passing it to lobbyists was the manner in which such information had always been disseminated in the past. However, AIPAC’s response was to repudiate both men, fire them, and refuse to pay for their legal defense. The politically motivated indictments were finally dropped and all charges dismissed, and yet AIPAC still failed to do the right thing.

Equally disturbing was the organization’s seeming nod to the Jewish left by its recent endorsement of a two-state solution, despite the plethora of objective polls showing that the majority of Arabs in the Middle East do not support such a solution or even recognize Israel’s right to exist. AIPAC’s apparent acquiescence to the Obama Administration’s policy line and the embrace of a fantasy solution with little basis in fact represents a significant departure from its historical position.
