Mosab Hassan Yousef

Perhaps the Obama administration wants to deport Mosab Hassan Yousef because it would like to silence his voice regarding the true nature of hamas and islam. After all, the administration seeks to legitimize hamas and reach out to the muslim world. Having someone like Yousef on the talk show circuit advocating banning the koran because it inspires hatred and violence and explaining there can never be peace with the palestinians because their religion forbids acceptance of a Jewish state, is a problem for the Obama agenda. What if the Obama administration made a deal with hamas to send Yousef back? We know hamas will kill him if he is deported. I don't think the administration cares.

Asylum for Yousef

National Review Online

Mosab Hassan Yousef must have encountered nearly everything on his unlikely journey. But surely he never ran across anything as stupid as the American immigration bureaucracy.

Yousef is the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a Hamas founder, and was groomed to follow in his father’s footsteps. At the age of 18, he purchased some machine guns and planned to join the terrorist organization’s militant wing. But he was arrested with the guns, and during a stint in Israeli prison, he had a change of heart — and joined Hamas as an undercover agent of the Israeli intelligence agency Shin Bet after his release from prison in 1997.

In that capacity, he prevented dozens of terrorist attacks, including suicide bombings and assassinations. Shin Bet agent Gonen Ben-Itzhak, who worked with Yousef for a decade, has broken his cover so he can testify in U.S. immigration court on the informant’s behalf. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz says he was the country’s “most valuable source in the militant organization’s leadership,” and credits him with the arrest of Fatah head Marwan Barghouti and Hamas members Abdullah Barghouti and Ibrahim Hamid.

Jewish Liberals Never Learn

For all his griping and supposed regret for supporting Obama, Koch will likely still vote for him in 2012.

Obama’s views have not shifted, Koch just chose to ignore Obama’s radical left and anti-Semitic associations during the campaign. Now he acts shocked that Obama has carried out anti-Israel policies.

The Rift Is Deep and Wide

The Daily Caller

By Caroline May

Support for President Obama is waning among America’s Jewish population, polls indicate, a shift driven primarily by the president’s policies toward Israel.

The London Telegraph reported this weekend that Michael Oren, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, described the state of U.S.-Israeli relations in bleak terms, saying the two nations “are in a state of tectonic rift in which continents are drifting apart.” While Oren since has asserted that he was misquoted and that his words were less incendiary than reported, even relatively disinterested observers can see that relations between the allies are strained.

McLaughlin & Associates, a national polling company, recently released the “National Survey of Jewish Voters” which reported that while Jewish voters favored Obama 78 percent to 12 percent in the 2008 presidential exit polls, currently, “only 42 percent of voters would re-elect him, while the plurality (46 percent) would consider voting for someone else.

Resisting Islamization

I'm grateful to see that patriotic, freedom-loving Americans are beginning to fight back against the ummah. In Brooklyn, Staten Island and of course ground zero, people are resisting islamic supremacism and sharia by protesting the establishment of mosques in their peaceful neighborhoods. Muslims are aggressively spreading islam and we must be aggressive and confrontational in stopping them. Atlas has the story and photos.

Muslim Leader Admits islam is Violent

Liberals in the west are sure they have more knowledge of islam than devout muslims, insisting that islam is really a peaceful religion and that the ones who carry out terrorism aren't true muslims.

UN Obsessively Attacks Israel While Ignoring Real Atrocities

Of course it’s not possible to shame the UN since it is devoid of any standards and is thus incapable of feeling shame.

Group shames UN

Watchdog NGO speaks out on silence of United Nations following atrocities

By PETER WORTHINGTON, Toronto Sun

One of the more interesting organizations concerned with both the fate of the world and the people in it is UN Watch.

Set up in 1993, it’s a Geneva-based non-governmental organization in place to monitor the UN itself.

What’s significant is UN Watch uses the UN Charter itself to scrutinize what goes on inside that body. In other words, UN Watch doesn’t set the standards, the UN does. UN Watch simply judges the UN by its own yardstick.

Governed by an international board, the Canadian representative is Irwin Cotler, former minister of justice and attorney general.

As a quick summary, the UN Charter’s aim is: 1. To avoid the “scourge” of war; 2. To advance human rights and equal treatment; 3. To establish justice and allegiance to international law; 4. To promote social progress and enhance freedom.

To achieve these goals, the UN urges tolerance, understanding, fairness, social progress and the practice of good neighbourliness and peaceful means.

All pretty standard. All idealistic. Using these guidelines, UN Watch has earned lots of respect, but achieved little in hellholes like Darfur and Congo, or Burma, or for women in Iran, Haiti, Kyrgyzstan and other places that abuse people.

So why, if it has little effect, does UN Watch continue its mission?

A good question, but continue it does. This month its executive director, Hillel Neuer, addressed the UN’s Human Rights Council.

Here is his succinct report, without comment, which itself strikes me as an indictment so damning of the UN, it requires no embellishing:

“In Article 1 of the Vienna Declaration (and Program of Action), the states assembled here committed to protect all human rights. Is the Council living up to this obligation? Focusing thematically on the right to life, let us consider one example from each of the past 12 months:

• June 2009: Tehran. Hundreds of thousands gather peacefully to protest a questionable election. The government responds with brutality. Dozens are killed, hundreds injured, thousands arrested.

• July: China. Troops fire on Uighur protesters; 200 killed, 1,700 injured.

• August: Russia. Two aid workers killed in Chechnya, government complicity suspected.

• September: Yemen. Government warplanes bomb a refugee camp, killing 80. This council’s response? Silence.

• October: Iraq. A terrorist attacks a mosque, killing the imam and 14 others.

• November: The Philippines. Massacre of 57 opposition activists.

• December : Iran. Renewed protests meet with bullets, beatings, arrests; 10 killed.

• January: Pakistan. In 42 attacks, 182 civilians killed. Council’s response? Silence.

• February: Afghanistan. A Taliban attack kills 18, injuring 32, including doctors.

• March: Nigeria. Five hundred Christians slaughtered in religious killings.

• April: Kyrgyzstan. Troops fire on demonstrators; 84 killed.

• May: Libya executes 18 foreigners, without due process.

“Mr. President, faced with these and other gross violations of the Vienna Declaration, what was this council’s standard response? Silence. No resolutions; no urgent sessions; no investigations. Nothing.

“Yet … when Israel defended itself against violent Jihadists on the so-called humanitarian flotilla, we witnessed another standard — a double-standard.

“Suddenly the council sprang into action, with an urgent debate, a resolution condemning Israel, and yet another investigation where the guilty verdict was declared in advance. Meanwhile, in this session, not a single resolution has been adopted for 191 other countries.

“Is the right to life, as guaranteed under the Vienna Declaration, being protected? No — on the contrary. And millions of victims are paying the price.”

IDF Training Women to Confront Female Flotilla

Israel should forget the PR which isn't going to make a difference anyway. Regardless of what Israel does its going to be condemned. Haven't they learned that by now? If anything Israel has nothing to lose by acting ruthlessly.

The lives of these lady IDF soldiers can be endangered if they are not adequately trained for such a mission. And it seems they won't be, in such a short period of time.

Israel should send in the already extensively trained male commandoes and if these Lebanese women jihadists want to martyr themselves just for the sake of creating propaganda against Israel, then so be it.

Backspin:
A PR Fiasco In the Making?

The IDF is training female cadets to take over the women's flotilla boat. The Sunday Times writes:

It hopes the all-women boarding party will minimise bad publicity.

Witnesses at the commandos’ Mediterranean base near Haifa in northern Israel reported that hardened members of the “shayetet” (the flotilla), who are more familiar with secret cross-border missions, appeared bemused by their young charges. Young women could be seen being taught to handle speedboats, prepare for emergencies at sea and clamber on to larger ships.

“The commandos are confused,” said one source. “These frogmen are trained to carry out sensitive military missions. Last month they were sent to deal with the Turkish civilians. Now they’re asking them to deal with ladies, and all of it live on television.”

I don't have a problem with female soldiers. But if Israel's placing PR ahead of operational concerns, this could only become a bigger fiasco -- and the potential headaches are already big enough.

Anti-Semitism Fuels the Double Standard Against Israel

The reason the mavi marmara received so much attention is due to anti-Semitism pure and simple. It isn't possible to be unaware that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Secondly its also not possible to be unaware of the fact that that ship was full of islamic terrorists who violently attacked IDF soldiers who descended one at a time with paintball guns. So let's call the fake outrage over the IDF's actions and fake concern for Gazans what it truly is, Jew-hatred disguised as humanitarianism. The mavi marmara was simply the latest excuse for the world to erupt in an anti-Semitic frenzy under the guise of expressing disapproval of Israel's behavior. The world wanted Israel to be the bad guy and thus ignored the facts.

PC Morality: Blame the Government, Not the People, Unless It’s Israel
Posted By Aaron Elias On June 27, 2010 @ 12:02 am

The Gaza flotilla incident was a horrid PR nightmare for the state of Israel, despite the released evidence of the “peace activists’” true intentions. The international community has in large part ignored all of it: videos [1] of the fight on the Mavi Marmara, the cache of weapons [2] on board, and the undisputed ties [3] between the IHH [4], Hamas, and other Islamic terror organizations.

International reaction has been heated, hypocritical, and disproportionate. Bands like Gorillaz and the Pixies canceled [5] their scheduled concerts in Israel following the events (Shuki Weiss, the concert’s production manager, had been trying for over 10 years [6] to bring the Pixies to Israel). The organizers of the gay pride parade in Madrid banned [7] its Tel Aviv delegation in direct response to the flotilla raid, stating it would be “barbaric” to allow Israelis to participate; the Israelis in question responded that Islamists would be happy to “cure” them all. One of the largest unofficial Bob Dylan fansites has banned [8] Israeli IP addresses from visiting the website. The Utopia [9] chain of theaters in France canceled [10] all screenings of the Israeli comedy Five Hours from Paris [11] … replacing them with a French documentary about Rachel Corrie.

How can so many people justify such bigotry?

This Week's Haveil Havalim

The latest edition of the Jewish blog carnival Haveil Havalim is up at A Time of the Signs.

Jihad Comes to Small Town America

Because a neighborhood in Georgia denied permission for the expansion of a mosque, residents are being harassed. Many people in the neighborhood are arming themselves and good for them. The jihadis need to be aggressively confronted. No surprise that the traitorous dhimmis and stealth jihadis in our federal government are siding with the enemy over decent, normal Americans by filing a religious discrimination suit against the city of Lilburn. No good has come from muslim immigration and it needs to end before America as we know it ceases to exist. Jihad and Sharia are coming to a neighborhood near you.

Peaceful Georgia neighborhood requires around the clock police patrols after mosque expansion denied

Atlas Shrugs via Creeping Sharia

An update on the Lilburn mosque – a replica of a shrine to a Muslim holy warrior in Iraq (where more than 4,000 U.S. soldiers have been killed). When expansion plans were denied, the harassment of infidels began, the legal jihad kicked in, and apparently the Islamic intimidation has continued. ROPMA.

Lilburn’s Hood Road carries new Gwinnett into old Gwinnett. The mile of asphalt begins with a mosque at U.S. 29 and turns into a byway of houses, trees and gardens.

But now, when the sun goes down, tension grows in this tidy, middle-class neighborhood.

Some residents opposed to a mosque expansion on Hood Road say for the past seven months, they’ve been the frequent targets of harassment, mostly by those they describe as “Middle Eastern men”. But a founder of the mosque says the claims are unfounded and the city’s mayor, who lives on Hood Road, hasn’t witnessed anything unusual.

Nonetheless, residents have reported vehicles traveling the road at night with occupants yelling, making obscene gestures, snapping photos, even confronting two women in their driveway.

Since November, when city leaders ruled against a local Muslim congregation’s plans to expand, the Lilburn Police Department has received 21 calls of suspicious activity along Hood Road.

Lilburn police officials say they have investigated every claim and patrolled Hood Road around the clock for two months starting in April, when reports started to escalate.

Still, residents say, the harassment is real. Some have installed security camera systems. Others are carrying guns.

“A lot of people are locked and loaded because they don’t know what’s going to happen,” resident Angel Alonso, 46, said. “We have a feeling somebody is going to get hurt.”

Residents say the harassment started Nov. 18, the same day the Lilburn City Council rejected the congregation’s proposal for a 20,000-square-foot mosque, cemetery and gym at U.S. 29 and Hood Road. The council’s decision has since sparked a federal religious discrimination lawsuit against the city.

n November, more than 400 residents packed the Gwinnett County courthouse to protest the rezoning. They argued it would pose traffic and parking problems and run afoul of the city’s land-use plan.

After the meeting in Lawrenceville, resident Janie Hood said she was followed and boxed in on U.S. 29 by a van and sport utility vehicle full of “Middle Eastern” males, according to a police report. The vehicles were pulled over. Hood didn’t pursue the matter further, the report said.

But Hood said she didn’t drop it. Since March, she said she has spoken three times to the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, which is investigating.

Now the 56-year-old Hood, whose father and grandfather built Hood Road, won’t sleep at her house at night, not since an attempted break-in in late December, she said. And on April 23, Hood said five vehicles pulled in front of her property. Two to three men exited and approached, according to a police report. Hood’s daughter, Christi Nichols, who feared for her safety, grabbed a firearm and told the men to leave, the report said.

“It’s getting worse and worse,” Hood said. “All we get from the Police Department is, ‘Stay in your house.’ We will stay in our house, but we should haven’t to.”

Muslims Attack Jewish Dance Group

The dance group should not have cancelled their performance. They should have defied the muslim jihadis and carried on. The barbarians must not be given a victory.

Youths attack Jewish dance group in Germany

By KIRSTEN GRIESHABER, Associated Press Writer – Thu Jun 24, 11:22 am ET

BERLIN – Arab youths threw stones at a Jewish dance group during a street festival in Hannover, injuring one dancer and forcing the group to cancel its performance, German police and dance officials said Thursday.

The teenagers also used a megaphone to shout anti-Semitic slurs during the attack Saturday, Hannover police spokesman Thorsten Schiewe said.

"I don't remember such a dramatic attack in Germany in recent times," said Michael Fuerst, the head of the Jewish community of the state of Lower Saxony.

Six suspects have been identified — five Arabic immigrants and one German — and police are looking for the other three, police said. The six range from nine to 19 years old and have been questioned by police.

Hannover prosecutors are investigating those involved on suspicion of incitement and causing serious bodily harm, prosecutor Irene Silinger said.

Stephan Kramer of the Central Council of Jews in Germany condemned the attack.

"This latest incident shows something we have not experienced before: A growing radicalization of young Muslims, which affects not only the Jewish community but the entire German community," Kramer told The Associated Press.

The Central Council of Muslims in Germany could not immediately be reached for comment.

Alla Volodarska of the Progressive Jewish community of Hannover dance group said its members were still in shock.

"What happened is just so awful," Volodarska told the AP. "The teenagers started throwing stones the moment our dance group was announced, even before they started dancing."

Volodarska did not attend the event but talked to several members of the eight-person dance group. She said one female dancer was injured in the leg by the stones.

"There were many kids throwing stones, many of them, but we don't know the exact number," she said, adding that the group had often performed Israeli dances at festivals and never experienced this kind of hostility before.

The festival took place in Sahlkamp, an immigrant neighborhood in Hannover.

Fuerst blamed city festival organizers for not calling the police right away.

"The organizers tried to de-escalate the situation themselves instead of calling the police. That's just plain stupid," Fuerst said, adding he was meeting Friday with the interior minister of Lower Saxony about the incident.

The Association of Jewish University Students in Germany said Thursday the number of anti-Semitic slurs and death threats against Jews in Germany had increased in recent weeks due to the May 31 Israeli commando raid on a Gaza aid flotilla that left nine activists dead.

Kramer agreed and noted that online threats especially had risen.

"The threats are mostly sent by e-mail or posted online on social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace," Kramer said.

Global Anti-Semitic Hypocrites

I am actually grateful that Helen Thomas publicly revealed the true agenda of the left with regard to Israel. It is better that this is out in the open. There is no longer any pretense about supporting a two-state solution, but rather they are now openly admitting their true goal is the obliteration of Israel and the ethnic cleansing of Jews from the Middle East and even genocide.

Helen Thomas, Turkey, and the Liberation of Israel
Victor Davis Hanson – National Review Online

The world cares deeply about refugees, disputed territory, and divided cities — when Israel is involved. Otherwise, otherwise.

It is hard to become much more influential than the doyen of the White House press corps, who is given a ceremonial front-row seat at press briefings and press conferences. So when Helen Thomas suggested that the Israelis should leave their country and “go home” to Poland and Germany, this was not some obscure, eccentric anti-Semite, but a liberal insider who has come to enjoy iconic status and a sense of exemption from criticism.

Note that Ms. Thomas did not call for just a West Bank free of Jews. And she did not just wish for the elimination of the nation of Israel itself. Rather, Thomas envisions the departure of Israelis to the sites of the major death camps seven decades ago where six million Jews were gassed.

Turkey’s role in aiding and abetting the flotilla, and its subsequent anti-Israeli outbursts, were excessive even by the often sick standards of the Middle East — but not exactly new. State-run Turkish television has aired virulent anti-Semitic dramas like the 2006 Valley of the Wolves, in which a Jewish doctor harvests organs from captured Iraqi civilians. Former Turkish prime minister Necmettin Erbakan once claimed that the Jews had instigated World War I in order to create Israel. Israel, Erbakan further asserted, in full-blown Hitlerian prose, was a “disease” and a “bacteria” that needed to be eradicated. The current prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, talks of sending in the Turkish fleet to confront the Israeli blockade, says he is sick of Israeli lies, and warns that his new Turkey is not “a young and rootless nation,” as Israel presumably is (note the code word “rootless”). So speaks our NATO partner and EU wannabe. This week, in reaction to criticism from the West, Erdogan labeled such concerns “dirty propaganda” — note well, not just propaganda but a “dirty” sort.

In an odd way, Thomas’s sick suggestions and Turkey’s new Islamist and vehemently anti-Israel foreign policy will have a liberating effect on Israel. After all, if the ceremonial head of the White House press corps wants Israel’s citizens either gone or dead, there is a legitimate suspicion that things are not quite right in the capital of Israel’s staunchest ally. And if the most secular, democratic, and pro-Western Muslim country in the Middle East wishes to pick a fight to prove its Muslim fides, then there is not much hope that Israel is going to win over anyone else in that region.

Anti-Semitism as displayed by both Thomas and Turkey’s leaders is not predicated on criticizing Israel, much less disagreeing with its foreign policy. Instead, it hinges upon focusing singularly on Israeli behavior, and applying a standard to it that is never extended to any other nation.

There are plenty of disputes over borders and land in the world. But to Helen Thomas or the Turkish government, Kashmir or the Russian-Chinese border matters little — although the chances of escalation to nuclear confrontation are far greater there than on the West Bank. Has Thomas ever popped off, “Why don’t those Chinese just get the hell out of Tibet?” or “Why don’t those Indians just get out of Kashmir?”

Crazies Unleashed Due to Lack of Strong American Leadership

This is what happens when America is devoid of strong leadership. The vacuum created by the lack of American leadership causes the tyrants and terrorists of the world to run rampant and make threats.

New UN Rights Appointee Pledges to Attack U.S. “Monster” and Israel
Published by UN Watch - at June 24, 2010 in Miguel d'Escoto Brockman and Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

Geneva, June 23 - As the Geneva-based non-governmental organization UN Watch warned last week, controversial ex-Sandinista Miguel d’Escoto is already abusing his new mandate as advisor to the UN Human Rights Council to promote divisive politics, pledging today on Colombian TV to use his UN podium specifically to target the U.S., which he compared to a “monster,” and Israel.

“A man who has eagerly sided with international criminals such as Iran’s Ahmadinejad and Sudan’s Al-Bashir has no credibility on human rights, and embodies precisely the inverted morality and debased political culture that currently reigns at the UN Human Rights Council, which just this week added Col. Qaddafi’s Libya as a member,” said UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer.

“We continue to urge the U.S. government to make clear its objection to d’Escoto’s appointment, especially after today’s outburst, in which he openly confirmed his intention to breach UN principles of objectivity and non-selectivity,” said Neuer. The US government failed to object to d’Escoto’s appointment on Friday, thereby adding legitimacy to his unanimous appointment.

According to Spanish news agency EFE, d’Escoto told Colombian’s Channel 12 TV that he will prioritize denouncing the U.S. - Colombian military base agreement before the council. Click here for English summary and here for Spanish original.

According to D’Escoto, America’s “foreign bases” in Colombia “constitute a violation of the human rights” of Colombians and neighboring countries.

According to D’Escoto, Nicarauga “already knows the monster from within,” referring to the U.S. use of a Honduran base in its fight against the Sandinista government in Nicaragua from 1979 to 1990.

D’Escoto also pledged as another priority to attack Israel over the May 31 flotilla incident, when violent Jihadists seeking martyrdom, organized by the radical Turkish group IHH, deliberately provoked a confrontation with the Israeli navy.

Jon Voight's Open Letter to Obama

One of the few sane and decent people in Hollywood, Jon Voight, writes an open letter to Obama regarding his policy towards Israel. Of course such pleadings will fall on deaf ears with this radical in the White House who has no affinity for Israel whatsoever.

An open letter to President Obama from Jon Voight

President Obama:

You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies. You have done just the opposite. You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone’s enemy — and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm’s way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world.

You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases, and now you play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated.

You have brought to Arizona a civil war, once again defending the criminals and illegals, creating a meltdown for good, loyal, law-abiding citizens. Your destruction of this country may never be remedied, and we may never recover. I pray to God you stop, and I hope the people in this great country realize your agenda is not for the betterment of mankind, but for the betterment of your politics.

With heartfelt and deep concern for America and Israel,

Jon Voight

Islam's Violent Hatred of Women

We should stop treating islam as a legitimate religion. It is a death cult. Anyone who believes islam is peaceful ought to have their head examined. A peaceful “religion” doesn’t inspire mobs of men to rampage through the streets raping, mutilating and murdering women after listening to a sermon. How is it possible that the kind of men who are willing to murder their own daughters over a supposed violation of their depraved sense of “honor” be expected to peacefully coexist with infidels? How clueless are liberals? The west needs to start speaking openly and honestly about islam and aggressively resisting sharia, aggressively confronting their violence, otherwise if we continue to deny the obvious, we are doomed as a civilization. The horrific violence against women in the muslim world is extensively documented, we see photos and videos. Yet there is silence from feminists and liberals in the west.

Mannequins in Tehran Have No Breasts—What Next?

by Phyllis Chesler, Newsreel Blog

Dangerous serial killers and sex criminals roam the Western world. In the not-too-distant past, such remorseless killers, such as Jack The Ripper, Ted Bundy, and the Green River Killer, targeted mainly vulnerable women, including prostituted women, whom they kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered. Often, breasts and genitalia were savagely mutilated.

Today, these horrific, individual acts pale in comparison to the barbarism of the Islamist world where similar, but legally approved and publicly shared acts of woman-hatred are carried out by national presidents, religious leaders, Vice and Virtue police—and by mobs inflamed by Friday sermons. In 2001, egged on by their imam, hundreds of men in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria physically and sexually attacked any woman they could find, murdering some, sexually mutilating others. Also in Algeria, religious paramilitary troops kidnapped young girls off the streets, forced them into domestic and sexual slavery, then murdered and beheaded them when they became pregnant. In 2006, one thousand men in Cairo, Egypt, went on a post-mosque “wilding” in which they attacked every unveiled, then every veiled, woman in sight.

True, civil and ethnic wars, largely in Africa (Rwanda, Sudan, Congo), are also characterized by savage anti-woman practices such as the repeated, public gang-rapes of young girls and women. Indeed, rape has increasingly been used as a strategic weapon of war, not merely as a spoil of war—and this once happened in European Bosnia and Herzegovina as well. But by and large, the normalized brutalization of women characterizes Arab and Muslim behavior especially in an Islamist, jihadic era.

The Khomeini- Algerian- and Taliban-era’s hot hatred of women, including Muslim women, and of disobedient Muslim girls and women, got heartbreakingly hotter.

Khomeini began by re-veiling the formerly modern and educated women of Tehran. The 1980s Iranian mullahcracy escalated matters; they stoned women to death—but raped them first so that the rape victim would not be able to enter Paradise. The mullahs also forced women into prostitution, then penalized them (not the Johns or the pimps) for it, all the while restricting womens’ rights at home, on the streets, and on the job.

Afghanistan (which didn’t need much in the way of encouragement) went “native” and adopted some of the worst Arab customs. They also went “Persian,” and came into their medieval own. Thus, the Afghan Taliban also stoned women to death but they did so publicly, in large stadiums, with large, blood-thirsty, cheering male crowds. The Afghan Taliban, and after them, the warlords, refused to allow women to work, even when they were war widows and the mothers of dependent children. This forced women into prostitution for which they were jailed. Girls were prevented from going to school, women could not even run beauty parlors or wear makeup, polygamy flourished as did the sale and forced marriage of female children.

Then, the Pakistani Taliban jumped on this bandwagon of misogyny. Roving vigilante squads started spraying acid onto little girls’ faces for the crimes of going to school or simply for allowing their headscarves to slip. They went beyond mutilating the breasts and genitalia of murder victims to scarring the faces of young girls forever.

The control of women and the woman-hating frenzy went viral, crossed borders, and is now quite simply out of control.

Israeli Ship Gets Blockaded in Oakland

I'm late commenting on this story about longshoremen in Oakland joining the radical leftists of ANSWER and muslims by refusing to unload an Israeli ship. The phony excuse that the union gave was that they have to honor the picket line. This is supposed to apply if there is a workers strike. I never heard of it being applied to a political protest.

Let's call out these longshoremen for what they are, anti-Semites. Their participation in this anti-Israel protest only reinforces my skepticism of unions and why I hope they are all busted. Let’s not forget how unions have destroyed American industry. It's unfortunate that now they have chosen to side with evil, like the radical left unions in Europe.

And anyone doubting their actions are motivated by anti-Semitism, why has Israel been singled out? Why haven’t countries which violate human rights been subjected to protests and boycotts?

Radicals, Islamists and Longshoremen blockade Israeli ship in Oakland
June 20, 2010 - by Zombie

An Israeli cargo ship arriving in Oakland today was forced to sit idle and not offload its containers when longshoremen joined forces with a coalition of communist and Islamist groups who picketed the port in protest against the recent violent incident off the coast of Gaza.

The ship, owned by Zim Lines, was not carrying any controversial cargo, nor is Zim involved in politics in any way; it was targeted simply because the shipping company is based in Israel.

The planned protest and blockade were organized by The Free Palestine Movement (one of the same groups which organized the Gaza “flotilla” in the first place) as well as a rogues’ gallery of nearly every communist, anti-Israel and radical Islamist group in the Bay Area:

Oakland, CA: Join the Labor and Community Picket of an Israeli Zim Lines Ship

Sunday, June 20, 5:30am
Port of Oakland,Berth 57, Middle Harbor Rd.
Protest Israel’s Attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla!
Boycott Israeli Ships and Goods!
Lift the Blockade NOW – Let Gaza Live!
Bring Down Israel’s Apartheid Wall!
We call on everyone who stands for justice and against occupation and apartheid to join the June 20 picket at the Port of Oakland. This is a moment of great opportunity. In San Francisco in 1984, a picket line and refusal to unload cargo of a ship carrying South African cargo was a key event in mobilizing the anti-apartheid movement worldwide.

Sponsored by: Labor / Community Committee in Solidarity with the People of Palestine:
Arab American Union Members Council, ANSWER- Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, Palestine Youth Network, US Palestine Community Network, Al Awda- Right to Return Coalition, Arab Youth Organization, MECA-Middle East Children’s Alliance, Students for Justice in Palestine, Arab Resource and Organizing Center, International Solidarity Movement, San Jose Peace and Justice Center, International Socialist Organization, Peace and Freedom Party – SF, Transport Workers Solidarity Committee and many labor activists in the Bay Area

However, you wouldn’t know any of this if you had just read the mainstream media’s reportage. For example, the San Francisco Chronicle described the protesters as “peace and labor groups”:

“Our view is that the state of Israel can not engage in acts of piracy and kill people on the high seas and still think their cargo can go anywhere in the world,” said Richard Becker, an organizer with ANSWER, one of many peace and labor groups involved in Sunday’s action.

From the list of sponsors above, I don’t see too many “peace” groups, but instead radical Islamic and Arab organizations dedicated to the extirpation of Israel, and some far-left political groups, a couple of which use the word “Peace” in their names as an Orwellian euphemism for “destroy the capitalist system.”

Obama Legitimizes UN’s Jew-Hating Agenda

Instead of treating the islamic-controlled, anti-Semitic UN as a pariah institution which is inimical to American values that deserves to be defunded and closed down, the Obama administration is giving legtimacy to its perverse agenda of attacking Israel, spreading blood libels against Jews, cheering on genocidal Jew-killers while giving a free pass to real human rights violators.

Why Is U.S. Supporting Sham U.N. Human Rights Council?

By Anne Bayefsky, FOXNews.com

The U.N. Human Rights Council ended its latest three-week session on Friday by abandoning human rights victims the world over and contributing to the spread of anti-semitism. With the United States now a member of the Council, the Obama administration is neck deep in the Big Muddy but telling Americans to push on.

President Obama’s decision to join the Council, the U.N.’s lead human rights body, was one of his first foreign policy moves. It has been an unmitigated disaster – for human rights.

Kyrgyzstan

On Friday, the United States delegation in Geneva teamed up with the government of Kyrgyzstan to protect the authorities instead of the people. In the face of what the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has called an “immense” humanitarian crisis, the Council adopted a U.S.-Kyrgyz initiative as trivial as its title suggests: “technical assistance and cooperation on human rights in Kyrgyzstan.”

Southern Kyrgyzstan is engulfed in ethnic violence that has affected more than one million people, left 400,000 homeless and thousands of dead and injured according to the U.N. Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the ICRC. The Kyrgyz government is failing to provide protection and to stop the violence, with numerous reports that government security forces are contributing to the targeting of Uzbeks.

Freedom House describes Kyrgyzstan as among the least free states on the globe. Leading journalists are murdered, and the country is ranked 162 out of 180 countries surveyed in Transparency International’s 2009 Corruption Perceptions Index.

In addition to the immediate evidence of an ethnic slaughter, the Human Rights Council had before it a report from one of its own special investigators which alerted it to a number of other disturbing facts.

“Kyrgyzstan is recognized as the country with the highest prevalence of bride-kidnappings,” and as many as “30 per cent of all marriages are the result of bride-kidnapping.” That’s the practice of kidnapping women and forcing them to marry either before or after they are raped. The report also said that forty per cent of women in Kyrgyzstan “had been denied the right to work outside the home or to seek an education.”

But as if on another planet, the U.S.-led resolution adopted by the Council, “Expresses its support and encouragement for…efforts made to restore democratic and constitutional order and the rule of law in Kyrgyzstan.” No reference is made to current events whatsoever. The resolution mentions only “the loss of life of 7 April 2010,” (when the country’s former president was toppled).

Instead of criticism or an immediate move to alleviate the crisis, the resolution calls upon the U.N. “to work with the Government of Kyrgyzstan …to identify areas of technical assistance that will assist Kyrgyzstan in its ability to fulfill its human rights obligations.”

Think back to three weeks earlier. Nine people were killed by Israel in an attempt by Turkish-backed extremists to run a legal naval blockade of the terrorist-run Gaza strip. With American approval, the same Human Rights Council suspended its normal proceedings and held its first ever “urgent debate” on the subject. The one million people affected by an ethnic conflict in Kyrgyzstan attracted no call by the U.S. (or any other Council member) for an urgent debate, or a condemnatory resolution, or a report to the Council, or a demand for immediate steps to halt the violence.

Moreover, the U.S.-Kyrgyzstan resolution merely requests the country conduct “a full and transparent investigation that holds perpetrators accountable” for events on one day in April.

In the case of Israel – with American approval – the U.N. Security Council adopted a unanimous call for “a prompt, impartial, credible and transparent investigation conforming to international standards,” a formula which led to the immediate launch of a Human Rights Council investigation, with another one by the Secretary-General in the offing. Democratic Israel can’t run its own investigation, but corruption-infested Kyrgyzstan can.

And, oh yes, Kyrgyzstan is an elected member of the Human Rights Council.

The Fascist Left Stifles Free Speech

Why has a minority of left-wing fascists been allowed to take control of western societies and decide that certain kinds of speech that are critical of their favored minority groups, predominantly muslims, should be punishable by law? The fascist left needs to be stripped of its power everywhere within western nations if we are going to preserve our liberties. With the aid of the left, the muslims have been able to advance sharia in Europe.

I’ve Become an Enemy of the People for Speaking the Truth About Islam
I’ve now been singled out, in a report commissioned and funded by the government of Norway, as a perpetrator of Islamophobia. Am I about to be hauled into court?

June 15, 2010 - by Bruce Bawer

When it comes to the right to speak one’s mind about Islam, the record of the last few years makes it clear which direction the West is moving in. In France and Italy, Oriana Fallaci is put on trial for disparaging Islam. In Canada, Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant are hauled before “human rights commission” tribunals for criticizing Islam in print. In Australia, an Islamic organization sues two pastors for “vilification of Muslims.” In Britain, a Daily Telegraph columnist is arrested on charges of hate speech for having written negatively about Islam, and the Archbishop of Canterbury proposes that Parliament pass stronger laws against such speech acts. And in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, the head of the Freedom Party, which performed so well in the June 9 general elections that Wilders may end up in the governing coalition, still faces trial for having made a film about the Koranic foundations of terrorism.

Then there’s Norway, where I live, and where the last few days have seen yet another dark development. By way of background, permit me to begin by quoting myself. On pages 230-31 of my book Surrender: Appeasing Islam, Sacrificing Freedom I sum up the more alarming aspects of Norway’s Discrimination Law, passed in 2005:

It forbids “harassment on the grounds of ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, skin color, language, religion, or beliefs,” and, in turn, defines harassment as “actions, omissions, or utterances [my emphasis] that have the effect or are intended to have the effect of being insulting, intimidating, hostile, degrading, or humiliating.”

In other words, it’s illegal just to say certain things.

Defendants may be accused not only by the individuals whom they’ve supposedly offended but also by semiofficial organs such as the Anti-Racist Center and the Center against Ethnic Discrimination (both of which helped formulate the law, and both of which exist less to oppose real racism and discrimination than to oppose political incorrectness generally) or by the government’s Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud.

Which means that a handful of far-left organizations have been given enormous power to silence those they disagree with.

General McChrystal Disparages Obama and Other WH Officials

General McChrystal said that when he met Obama last year he was detached, uninterested and uninformed. If the GOP can’t take advantage of the chaos and incompetence in this administration, then they don’t deserve to win.

I agree with Glenn Beck that if we don’t use everything we have to fight this war then we shouldn’t be in Afghanistan. I don’t want our troops to be fighting and dying in order to uphold sharia in Afghanistan, where Christian converts are being threatened with death. Also the rules of engagement are suicidal for our soldiers.

US general in Afghan war at risk of losing his job
By ANNE GEARAN and JENNIFER LOVEN, Associated Press Writers
Yahoo News

WASHINGTON – A furious President Barack Obama weighed whether to fire his Afghan war commander at a perilous time in the conflict as he summoned Gen. Stanley McChrystal to Washington to explain disparaging comments about his political masters.

McChrystal’s complaints about his commander in chief and Obama’s aides put his job in jeopardy. Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said Tuesday “the magnitude and greatness of the mistake here are profound” and repeatedly declined to say McChrystal’s job was safe. “All options are on the table,” he said.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the commander’s comments in Rolling Stone magazine were “distractions” to the war in Afghanistan.

McChrystal publicly apologized Tuesday for using “poor judgment” in interviews for the magazine. He then left Afghanistan to appear, as ordered by Obama, at the White House on Wednesday.

Let's All Celebrate Cultural Diversity!

To all of you promoters of multiculturalism and endless immigration, check out these videos of shiite muslim men beating themselves bloody in the streets of New York in celebration of some insane ritual. Do you want these guys to come to your neighborhood? Looking at these videos you would not believe this is America. I'm disgusted and sickened beyond words. Not because I give a damn that these crazies are inflicting pain upon themselves, but because I don't want the streets of America to resemble that of Baghdad or Tehran. I don't want my country turned into the hideous places where these muslims come from. In the name of tolerance we are going to turn America into a third word sharia hell hole.

Geert Wilders: Jordan is Palestine

The most courageous, principled and righteous politician in all of Europe, Geert Wilders, pushes back against the jihadists and leftists by proclaiming that Jordan is Palestine.

The Arabs referred to as the "palestinians" have no historical claims to any part of Israel. The palestinian cause is the greatest hoax of our time and its about time someone in a position of power in the west states this truth. ALL of the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people. I love Geert Wilders.

Geert Wilders: Change Jordan's name to Palestine

Rightist Dutch leader wants to end Mideast conflict by finding Palestinians 'alternate homeland'

Roee Nahmias Published: 06.20.10, 12:18 / Israel News

Geert Wilders, who leads the right-wing Party for Freedom (PVV) in Holland, said last week he believes Jordan should be renamed Palestine. The Jordanian government responded by saying Wilders' speech was reminiscent of the Israeli right wing.

"Jordan is Palestine," said Wilders, who heads the third-largest party in Holland. "Changing its name to Palestine will end the conflict in the Middle East and provide the Palestinians with an alternate homeland."

Wilders added that Israel deserved a special status in the Dutch government because it was fighting for Jerusalem in its name.

"If Jerusalem falls into the hands of the Muslims, Athens and Rome will be next. Thus, Jerusalem is the main front protecting the West. It is not a conflict over territory but rather an ideological battle, between the mentality of the liberated West and the ideology of Islamic barbarism," he said.

"There has been an independent Palestinian state since 1946, and it is the kingdom of Jordan." Wilders also called on the Dutch government to refer to Jordan as Palestine and move its embassy to Jerusalem.

The Saudi Al-Watan carried Jordan's response to Wilders' speech. The kingdom's embassy in Hague was outraged, and said the Dutch ambassador would soon be summoned to explain.

Jordan's minister for media affairs and communications, Nabil Al Sharif, asked for clarifications. He described Wilders' declaration as "an echo of the voice of the Israeli Right" and "crows' screams".

"Jordan is an independent and secure country which supports the Palestinian issue, and these imaginings of finding them an alternate homeland are nothing but the delusions of a few people," he said.

The PVV nearly tripled its power in the last election, going from nine parliament seats to 24. The right-wing party, which has called for a ban on minarets and Muslim scarves, has been holding so far unsuccessful negotiations with the liberal Right.

Obama's Tacit Approval of the UN's Jihad Against Israel

We are constantly being told by liberals Like Thomas Friedman that “occupation” is the problem and that relinquishing territory will improve Israel’s standing. Back when Israel surrendered Gaza these people assured us that it would now receive backing for any military actions it needed to take to stop terrorism. Now we see how well that has worked out. Israel is not only more endangered physically, but international pressure against it is increasing as has it’s isolation, delegitimization and demonization to the point of being treated as a pariah state. The world’s worst violators of human rights are given greater respect. The lesson in all of this of course is that Israel needs retake Gaza and keep its hold on Judea and Samaria.

The UN’s war on Israel continues — and the U.S. is silent

Ann Bayefsky, The NY Daily News

To watch an EYEontheUN video of one of Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann’s performances as President of the UN General Assembly click here.

Today the UN “Human Rights” Council appointed a notoriously anti-American and anti-Jewish figure to his second prominent UN position. Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann of Nicaragua, who served as the President of the UN General Assembly from 2008 to 2009, was elected by acclamation to the Council’s lead advisory body, the Council Advisory Committee. The Obama administration representative, Ambassador Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe, remained silent as the nominee of the Group of Latin America and Caribbean Countries was gaveled through without opposition.

Created in 2007, the Committee is composed of 18 “experts” and is charged with being “a think-tank for the Council.” Given the Council’s pathological fixation on Israel, it is clear why Brockmann got the job. It is less clear why the United States made no protest as he was appointed.

Reminiscent of a classic anti-Semitic slur, on November 24, 2008, Brockmann claimed that our Palestinian “brothers and sisters are being crucified” by Israel. Anti-Defamation League National Director, Abe Foxman, noted at the time “the charge that the Jewish people were responsible for crucifying Jesus was used as an excuse for pogroms and other violence against Jews.” He called it “unconscionable” for Brockmann to charge Israel with, “in essence, doing it again.”

When Brockmann was elected President of the General Assembly, the Catholic News Agency reported that the former Sandinista leader was a suspended priest who had been publicly reprimanded by Pope John Paul II for his political activities. In a 2004 interview, D’Escoto, called former U.S. President Ronald Reagan an “international outlaw” and “the butcher of my people,” and continued: “Because of Reagan and his spiritual heir George W. Bush, the world today is far less safe and secure than it has ever been.”

Among his many other distinguishing moves while Assembly President, Brockmann accused Israel of apartheid and used his bully pulpit in the General Assembly Hall to lecture UN members accordingly. Brockmann said: “We must not be afraid to call something what it is. It is the United Nations, after all, that passed the International Convention against the Crime of Apartheid.” The apartheid charge is especially insidious, since one-fifth of Israel’s population is Arab with more democratic rights than in any Arab state, while Jewish populations of Arab states have been rendered virtually non-existent. Brockmann went on to demand “a campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions” against Israel, akin to the treatment of apartheid South Africa.

On January 8, 2009, in the middle of the Gaza war Brockmann called his own news conference and displayed some of the most offensive and bizarre behavior ever seen from a General Assembly President.

He began by stating “most of my very dearest friends are Jewish people” and then went on to display a photo of what he said were some Rabbis from an Orthodox community in Jerusalem holding a sign reading “stop the massacre in Gaza.” “Is it a fake?” he asked rhetorically.

At the same news conference, he claimed Israelis were like Nazis and suggested anti-Semitism meant something other than Jew-hatred. Referring to Israel, he said “All dictatorships including Hitler claim that those who criticize us hated the Nazis, all dictators do the same, and so also here … The Palestinians. Are they not semites?”

On September 23, 2008, in another first, Brockmann came down off the Assembly President’s podium to give a warm bear hug to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad immediately following another anti-Semitic diatribe. Ahmadinejad had just finished alleging: “a small but deceitful number of people called Zionists … have been dominating an important portion of the financial and monetary centers as well as the political decision-making centers of some European countries and the US in a deceitful, complex and furtive manner … [T]he great people of America and various nations of Europe need to obey the demands and wishes of a small number of acquisitive and invasive people.”

The Human Rights Council is concluding its 14th session in Geneva today by maintaining its reputation as an institution with a greater interest in demonizing the Jewish state than in protecting human rights around the world. With the adoption of yet another resolution critical of Israel, the Council has adopted more resolutions and decisions condemning Israel than all other 191 UN member states combined.

If Only Sudan Received the Kind of Attention that Gaza Does

Why doesn't the Sudan capture the attention that Gaza does from so-called humanitarians around the world?

Manute Bol used his fame and wealth to aid his Sudanese countrymen being starved and massacred at the hands of jihadis and attempted to get the UN and U.S. government to help, but to no avail.

From Atlas Shrugs:
Manute Bol, who was one of the tallest players in NBA history and gained stature off the court for his efforts to save lives in his homeland of Sudan, has died. He was 47.

Bol died Saturday at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, a spokeswoman said. She did not comment on a cause of death.
Bol's most lasting legacy may be his efforts to use his celebrity to improve conditions in war-torn Sudan.

"God guided me to America and gave me a good job," he told Sports Illustrated in 2004. "But he also gave me a heart so I would look back." (more here at LA Times)

Back in March 2006, I was privileged to walk the Sudan Freedom Walk with Manute Bol.
Manute Bol called the UN a failure, said the African Union forces were weak, afraid, ineffective. He fought to have NATO stop the killing, the slavery, the unspeakable crimes against humanity.

Bol told me in our interview:

"Everyday we are losing life, losing life. If no action is taken, by next year you're gonna see a million lives lost."

Former NBA player and Dinka tribesman Manute Bol and his best friend went to over 39 Congressmen personally and met with the Pentagon in the 90's telling them that their people were being decimated by the Arab Muslims from the North and would disappear if the US did not help. He said they got nothing.

...So Manute reached into his own pockets in the millions to help support the starving refugees who had witnessed their homes and families destroyed.

Shameful. Clinton sent our military to bomb the Serbs on behalf of the jihadist KLA but did absolutely nothing to aid those in Sudan who really were victims of a genocide which continues to this day. Yet the world still does nothing for the suffering, starving Sudanese while lavishing aid and attention on the middle class population of Gaza who have an abundance of food and material goods. What a sick, perverse world we live in. The only way the people of Sudan will get help is if their suffering can somehow be blamed on the Jews.

Turkey Competing for Leadership of the muslim World

Writers Elliot Hen-Tov and Bernard Haykel in the NY Times make the case that Turkey is competing with Iran for leadership in the islamic world rather than aligning with it.

Turkey’s Gain Is Iran’s Loss
By ELLIOT HEN-TOV and BERNARD HAYKEL, NYT

SINCE Israel’s deadly raid on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara last month, it’s been assumed that Iran would be the major beneficiary of the wave of global anti-Israeli sentiment. But things seem to be playing out much differently: Iran paradoxically stands to lose much influence as Turkey assumes a surprising new role as the modern, democratic and internationally respected nation willing to take on Israel and oppose America.

While many Americans may feel betrayed by the behavior of their longtime allies in Ankara, Washington actually stands to gain indirectly if a newly muscular Turkey can adopt a leadership role in the Sunni Arab world, which has been eagerly looking for a better advocate of its causes than Shiite, authoritarian Iran or the inept and flaccid Arab regimes of the Persian Gulf.

Turkey’s Islamist government has distilled every last bit of political benefit from the flotilla crisis, domestically and internationally. And if the Gaza blockade is abandoned or loosened, it will be easily portrayed as a victory for Turkish engagement on behalf of the Palestinians. Thus the fiery rhetoric of Turkey’s prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, appeals not only to his domestic constituency, but also to the broader Islamic world.

Apparently it appeals to the authors of this article as well who are obviously quite smitten with this Anti-American and anti-Semitic leader of turkey.

It is also an attempt to redress what many in the Arab and Muslim worlds see as a historic imbalance in Turkey’s foreign policy in favor of Israel. Without having to match his words with action, Mr. Erdogan has amassed credentials to be the leading supporter of the Palestinian cause.

While most in the West seem to have overlooked this dynamic, Tehran has not. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad used a regional summit meeting in Istanbul this month to deliver an inflammatory anti-Israel speech, yet it went virtually unnoticed among the chorus of international condemnations of Israel’s act. On June 12 Iran dispatched its own aid flotilla bound for Gaza, and offered to provide an escort by its Revolutionary Guards for other ships breaking the blockade.

Yet Hamas publicly rejected Iran’s escort proposal, and a new poll by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research found that 43 percent of Palestinians ranked Turkey as their No. 1 foreign supporter, as opposed to just 6 percent for Iran.

Turkey has a strong hand here. Many leading Arab intellectuals have fretted over being caught between Iran’s revolutionary Shiism and Saudi Arabia’s austere and politically ineffectual Wahhabism. They now hope that a more liberal and enlightened Turkish Sunni Islam — reminiscent of past Ottoman glory — can lead the Arab world out of its mire.

You can get a sense of just how attractive Turkey’s leadership is among the Arab masses by reading the flood of recent negative articles about Ankara in the government-owned newspapers of the Arab states. This coverage impugns Mr. Erdogan’s motives, claiming he is latching on to the Palestinian issue because he is weak domestically, and dismisses Turkey’s ability to bring leadership to this quintessential “Arab cause.” They reek of panic over a new rival.

Turkey also gained from its failed effort, alongside Brazil, to hammer out a new deal on Iran’s nuclear program. The Muslim world appreciated Turkey’s standing up to the United States, and in the end Iran ended up with nothing but more United Nations sanctions.

In taking hold of the Palestinian card, Prime Minister Erdogan has potentially positioned Turkey as the central interlocutor between the Islamic/Arab world and Israel and the West, and been rewarded with tumultuous demonstrations lauding him in Ankara and Istanbul. Meanwhile, the streets of Tehran have been notably silent, with Mr. Ahmadinejad’s regime worried about public unrest during the one-year anniversary of last summer’s fraudulent elections.

Prime Minister Erdogan has many qualities that will help him gain the confidence of the Arab masses. He is not only a devout Sunni, but also the democratically elected leader of a dynamic and modern Muslim country with membership in the G-20 and NATO. His nation is already a major tourist and investment destination for Arabs, and the Middle East has long been flooded with Turkish products, from agriculture to TV programming.

With Turkey capturing the hearts, minds and wallets of Arabs, Iran will increasingly find it harder to carry out its agenda of destabilizing the region and the globe. For Americans, it may be hard to see the blessings in a rift with a longtime ally. But even if Turkey’s interests no longer fully align with ours, there is much to be gained from a Westernized, prosperous and democratic nation becoming the standard-bearer of the Islamic world.

What is remotely, modern, liberal and democratic about islamist turkey?

The writers are missing the point. It is precisely because turkey is becoming less westernized, more anti-American, more anti-Israel and more islamized that it is now gaining popularity in the islamic world. So how would it be any more of a positive development if turkey replaces Iran as leader of the muslim world if in order to lead the muslim world one must be a crazed, hateful fanatic? We will not be any better off than we are now.

The Latest Haveil Havalim

Edition #272 of the Jewish blog carnival Haveil Havalim is up at Frume Sarah's World.

Stand With Israel

“The Economist” asks “what’s wrong with America’s right”, referring to its support for Israel. The more appropriate question should be asked what is wrong with “The Economist”, England and most of the rest of Europe that it has taken the side of the bloodthirsty barbarians who shout “Khaibar, khaibar the army of mohammed is coming for you”, over the civilized, besieged Jews of Israel? What is it that makes them so morally confused and depraved?

This is clearly a black and white issue. Either you support Israel unconditionally or you are hereby accused of standing on the side of the modern day nazis who’s stated goal is another holocaust upon the Jewish people and then eventually destruction of the west. For anyone with a moral compass it is an easy choice. That is why most American conservatives support Israel. Most of the rest of the world has chosen to stand with the barbarians against the Jews, including European and other western elites.

There are rare exceptions however. Here are two great speeches. One from Spain’s former president José María Aznar and Australian senator Scott Ryan who understand what’s at stake.

Support Israel: if it goes down, we all go down

José María Aznar

Anger over Gaza is a distraction. We cannot forget that Israel is the West’s best ally in a turbulent region

For far too long now it has been unfashionable in Europe to speak up for Israel. In the wake of the recent incident on board a ship full of anti-Israeli activists in the Mediterranean, it is hard to think of a more unpopular cause to champion.

In an ideal world, the assault by Israeli commandos on the Mavi Marmara would not have ended up with nine dead and a score wounded. In an ideal world, the soldiers would have been peacefully welcomed on to the ship. In an ideal world, no state, let alone a recent ally of Israel such as Turkey, would have sponsored and organised a flotilla whose sole purpose was to create an impossible situation for Israel: making it choose between giving up its security policy and the naval blockade, or risking the wrath of the world.

In our dealings with Israel, we must blow away the red mists of anger that too often cloud our judgment. A reasonable and balanced approach should encapsulate the following realities: first, the state of Israel was created by a decision of the UN. Its legitimacy, therefore, should not be in question. Israel is a nation with deeply rooted democratic institutions. It is a dynamic and open society that has repeatedly excelled in culture, science and technology.

Second, owing to its roots, history, and values, Israel is a fully fledged Western nation. Indeed, it is a normal Western nation, but one confronted by abnormal circumstances.

Uniquely in the West, it is the only democracy whose very existence has been questioned since its inception. In the first instance, it was attacked by its neighbours using the conventional weapons of war. Then it faced terrorism culminating in wave after wave of suicide attacks. Now, at the behest of radical Islamists and their sympathisers, it faces a campaign of delegitimisation through international law and diplomacy.

Sixty-two years after its creation, Israel is still fighting for its very survival. Punished with missiles raining from north and south, threatened with destruction by an Iran aiming to acquire nuclear weapons and pressed upon by friend and foe, Israel, it seems, is never to have a moment’s peace.

For years, the focus of Western attention has understandably been on the peace process between Israelis and Palestinians. But if Israel is in danger today and the whole region is slipping towards a worryingly problematic future, it is not due to the lack of understanding between the parties on how to solve this conflict. The parameters of any prospective peace agreement are clear, however difficult it may seem for the two sides to make the final push for a settlement.

The real threats to regional stability, however, are to be found in the rise of a radical Islamism which sees Israel’s destruction as the fulfilment of its religious destiny and, simultaneously in the case of Iran, as an expression of its ambitions for regional hegemony. Both phenomena are threats that affect not only Israel, but also the wider West and the world at large.

The core of the problem lies in the ambiguous and often erroneous manner in which too many Western countries are now reacting to this situation. It is easy to blame Israel for all the evils in the Middle East. Some even act and talk as if a new understanding with the Muslim world could be achieved if only we were prepared to sacrifice the Jewish state on the altar. This would be folly.

Israel is our first line of defence in a turbulent region that is constantly at risk of descending into chaos; a region vital to our energy security owing to our overdependence on Middle Eastern oil; a region that forms the front line in the fight against extremism. If Israel goes down, we all go down.

Senator RYAN (Liberal – Victoria) —Several weeks ago we were informed that Israel had allegedly outrageously intervened to stop a so-called peace flo- tilla, with commandos launching themselves at a peaceful armada seeking nothing more than to take humanitarian aid to Gaza. Excuse me if I was a little cynical when I first heard the news, for despite days of a highly orchestrated media campaign to vilify Israel and her defence forces, the truth subsequently came out. These were not peace activists; they were agents of provocation, radicals seeking a violent confrontation as they broke the legal maritime blockade of Gaza. I did not realise that peace activists were so well armed, in this case, with knives, chains, firearms, molotov cocktails and pepper spray. By viciously attacking the soldiers, they quickly betrayed their true agenda with their anti-Semitic cries, as they did by their refusal to cooperate with the UN, Israeli or Egyptian authorities, who could have facilitated the entry of the humanitarian materials to Gaza. This was no peace flotilla; it was part of an orchestrated campaign to vilify the state of Israel for doing nothing more than would be expected of us in this place: to protect her own citizens.

The blockade of Gaza is well founded in law, but it is also well founded in the entirely legitimate need for a state and government to take reasonable action to protect its citizens—for Gaza under Hamas cannot be treated as if it or they were a reasonable neighbour, and in no way can it be considered a partner for peace. This blockade has been undertaken to prevent terrorist at- tacks on Israeli civilians, no matter their race or creed. For some reason, certain people, NGO’s and so called human rights organisations expect Israel to tolerate a much higher level of violence than in Manhattan, Melbourne or Manchester.

To those who do not understand what Hamas does to the innocent civilians of Israel, I urge you to go to Sderot. Look at the remains of the rockets that have been fired from Gaza into that neighbourhood by Hamas—intentionally fired from amongst civilians in Gaza so as to make detection and prevention more difficult. Visit the children’s playgrounds in Sderot that are made from reinforced concrete. Bomb shelters are painted as coloured snakes in lieu of a playground, as children need to be within seconds of safety as the sirens blare ‘code red’ as another rocket is launched. Speak to the mothers of the children to whom the word ‘red’ provokes fear because of these sirens and amongst whom mental illness—particularly anxiety, stress and depression-related disorders—are at un- precedented levels. Go and look at the schools which have concrete slabs above their roofs in an attempt to limit the carnage caused by terrorists firing rockets from only a kilometre away, to whom a school is noth- ing more than a target. This is the situation for Israeli towns along the border with Gaza.

New Footage of Mavi Marmara Jihadists

Here's newly released video of the leader of the IHH aboard the jihad ship inciting followers to violence against the Israelis. Not that any of these facts will matter to the depraved international community which has chosen the side of the barbarians over the good.

Israeli Technology

It’s sick that much of the world seeks to destroy a nation which benefits mankind with its technological, scientific and medical contributions and innovations, and instead chooses to support its enemies who’s contribution to the world is barbarism, oppression and bloodshed.

Another Jihad Parody

Another great parody from Latma, the same group who gave us "We Con the World". This is "The Three Terrors".

Hurray for Elton John

Elton John not only defies the boycott Israel movement, but calls out Elvis Costello and others who have cancelled Israeli concerts, for the hypocrites they are.

Elton John Rocks Israel After Other Artists Cancel

by The Associated Press

Associated Press

TEL AVIV, Israel June 18, 2010, 04:16 am ET

A concert by Elton John has given Israelis a boost after a string of cancellations by other world-famous artists.

The British rocker performed late Thursday in front of a screaming crowd of nearly 50,000 fans at a Tel Aviv stadium.

John, who wore blue-tinted sunglasses, told the audience those cancellations "ain't gonna stop me from playing here, baby."

Recent cancellations by the Pixies and Elvis Costello, who cited Israeli government policies, have added to Israel's growing sense of isolation.

John swiped at those artists, saying, "We do not cherry-pick our consciences," before hitting the opening chords of his 1972 hit "Crocodile Rock."

Discovery in Afghanistan

Such wealth and modern western technology and convienences did not bring the saudis culturally out of the seventh century. I’m not so enthusiastic as the writer is about this discovery in Afghanistan. As is the case with the saudis, it will likely mean Afghanistan will gain wealth and power while remaining culturally backward under sharia law, and like the saudis will use that wealth and power to place a stranglehold on the west and advance the global ambitions of islam. The last thing we need is another islamic country with vast natural resources we depend upon.

Why do so many analysts in the west fail to understand by now that material wealth is not going to change the fundamental mindset of the muslim world?

From A Lifeline for Afghanistan:

Which brings us back to last week, when it was announced that United States’ researchers have found nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, in the form of huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium. Indeed, it was reported that Afghanistan may be the “Saudi Arabia of lithium,” an element that is essential to the production of high-efficiency batteries that our green world demands.
These discoveries can change everything. If we do it right, Afghanistan will become a wealthy, reliable ally, a nation that will grow rich and that will help us increase our riches. If we don’t, some other nation like Russia or China will step in to help the Afghans cash in on this find, which would be a tragedy after all the work we’ve done there and after so many Americans who given their lives there

Israelis Who Condemn Israel

I completely disagree with Leibler that Israelis such as Amos Oz love their country. To me Oz is a hater of Israel and exactly the same as the post-Zionists and the lunatic left.

It is beyond absurd to claim that Israel has abused its military power when just the opposite has shown to be the case. The fact that hamas and hezbollah remain in existence is proof enough that Israel is far too restrained militarily. The fact that only 9 of those vermin aboard the jihad flotilla were killed is also proof of Israel’s restraint.

That Israeli commandoes descended on that ship one at a time with paintball guns and then were greeted with a lynch mob which bludgeoned them with knives and bashed them in their skulls with metal pipes among other things, and afterwords have the Israelis get accused of applying disproportionate force just goes to show how sick and twisted the world is. And that is expecially true of psuedo-Jews like Amos Oz and his daughter along with David Grossman.

Why some Israeli liberals lose perspective

Word From Jerusalem, Isi Leibler

It is surely ironic that simultaneously with the emergence of a broad consensus endorsing a centrist position and the marginalization of extremist left- and right-wing factions, a number of Israeli intellectuals – mainly writers and academics – are intensifying their public condemnation of their country at a global level.

I am not relating to post-Zionists or demented lunatics who hate their country, but to those with a track record of genuine Zionist endeavor, national icons like Amos Oz, one of our most gifted writers, who, one assumes, loves Israel.

There was a time when Oz would resolutely refuse to condemn Israel to the global media or when he was in a foreign country. I recollect while visiting Australia 20 years ago, his response to media questioning his attitude to the Shamir government was “I am a proud Labor Zionist and while in Israel I can passionately criticize my government. But when I travel abroad, I regard myself as an ambassador for my country and leave political differences behind me.”

This contrasts starkly to the approach Oz currently adopts. With the country isolated as never before and the entire world applying double standards and pouring venom upon us, Oz, who shares the frustration of most Israelis with the botched Gaza flotilla imbroglio, contributed an op-ed to the Guardian and The New York Times which extended far beyond the issue of the flotilla. He told Americans and British readers that “power has intoxicated us,” that we are “fixated by the concept of military force” and that we abuse this power not for reasons of self-defense but to “squash ideas and smash the problems” confronting us with brute force.

In a widely circulated US blog, his daughter, Fania Oz-Salzberger, a distinguished professor of political science at the University of Haifa and Australia’s Monash University, conveyed similar sentiments. She said, “Every true Israeli patriot ought… to apologize very humbly to the dead and injured of the ‘Free Gaza Movement’ flotilla, to the Turks, to the international community. And while we are at it, also to the innocent majority of Gazans.” Her message to the international community was “your almost unanimous condemnation is spot on. As a private citizen, I join it. As a habitual Israeli patriot, I am ashamed.”

A SIMILAR article appeared in The Guardian by David Grossman, another outstanding writer, who lost a son in the IDF during the Second Lebanon war. Last week, the German Book Trade honored him with the same “peace prize” it had awarded Amos Oz in 1992. In his column, Grossman stated, “No explanation can justify or whitewash the crime that was committed” and “there are those here who seek to spin the natural and justified sense of Israeli guilt into a strident assertion that the whole world is to blame. Our shame, however, will be harder to live with.”

Muslims Protest British Soldiers

Violent muslim protesters show up at a parade honoring British soldiers. This is what happens when you allow riffraff who hold views which are diametrically opposed to our western concept of liberty, to enter your country in droves. Part of me feels that England is getting what it deserves, its karma for the anti-Israel vitriol England has expressed for so many years and continues to this day even though it is faced with the same enemies.

Another Expose of the Flotilla jihad

Only in a sick, twisted world can IDF soldiers descend onto a ship one soldier at a time with paintball guns and then have their soldiers get bludgeoned with knives and bashed in the skull and the world screams at Israel for using disproportionate force.

Bibi should have ignored the preposterous international calls for an investigation. Everything one needs to know about what took place was captured on those videos. Instead Bibi should have gone on the offensive and demanded an inquiry of turkey's role and of the entire free Gaza movement's ties to terrorism. Of course no such inquiry will ever be established but at least the Israelis could have put turkey and the rest of the international community on the defensive.

The West Sides With hamas

Contrary to past experience, the west still believes it can somehow guarantee its safety by selling out Israel. But by isolating Israel, what it really does is embolden Israel’s enemies to commit further aggression, which makes the region and ultimately the west itself face greater peril, leading closer to world war 3.

Hamas rises in the West

By CAROLINE GLICK, JPOST

By backing the terrorist group against Israel, western countries are backing Hamas against Fatah and Islamist states against ME moderates.

Since the navy’s May 31 takeover of the Turkish-Hamas flotilla, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his advisers have deliberated around the clock about how to contend with the US-led international stampede against Israel. But their ultimate decision to form an investigatory committee led by a retired Supreme Court justice and overseen by foreign observers indicates that they failed to recognize the nature of the international campaign facing us today.

Led by US President Barack Obama, the West has cast its lot with Hamas. It is not surprising that Obama is siding with Hamas. His close associates are leading members of the pro-Hamas Free Gaza outfit. Obama’s friends, former Weather Underground terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and William Ayres participated in a Free Gaza trip to Egypt in January. Their aim was to force the Egyptians to allow them into Gaza with 1,300 fellow Hamas supporters. Their mission was led by Code Pink leader and Obama fund-raiser Jodie Evans. Another leading member of Free Gaza is James Abourezk, a former US senator from South Dakota.

All of these people have open lines of communication not only to the Obama White House, but to Obama himself.

Obama has made his sympathy for the Muslim Brotherhood clear several times since entering office. The Muslim Brotherhood’s progeny include Hamas, al-Qaida and the Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Last June, Obama infuriated the Egyptian government when he insisted on inviting leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood to attend his speech at Al Azhar University in Cairo. His administration’s decision to deport Hamas deserter and Israeli counterterror operative Mosab Hassan Yousef to the Palestinian Authority where he will be killed is the latest sign of its support for radical Islam.

Given Obama’s attitude toward jihadists and the radical leftists who support them, his decision to support Hamas against Israel makes sense. What is alarming however is how leaders of the free world are now all siding with Hamas. That support has become ever more apparent since the Mossad’s alleged killing of Hamas terror master Mahmoud al-Mabhouh at his hotel in Dubai in January.

German TV Exposes the Truth About Flotilla Jihad

At least there’s one European media outlet willing to defy the anti-Israel tidal wave and reveal the truth about the nefarious forces who were really behind the flotilla jihad. A German TV network exposes the alliance of leftist, fascist and islamo-nazi forces aboard the Mavi Marmara. They share a common goal of bringing about the genocide of the Jews and the obliteration of Israel.

MSU Thugs Get Suspended

Finally action is being taken against islamic aggression on campus. UC Irvine suspended the thuggish muslim Student Association for shouting down Israeli ambassador Michael Oren. They aren't coming here to learn so much as they are here to push for instituting sharia law in America.

UC Irvine suspends Muslim student group for disrupting Israeli ambassador's talk

FOX news

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A University of California, Irvine, disciplinary committee ruled that a Muslim student group should be suspended for at least a year because of a protest that disrupted a talk by Israel's ambassador and led to the arrest of 11 students, according to documents released Monday.

The letter from a student affairs disciplinary committee to Muslim Student Union leaders said the group was guilty of disorderly conduct, obstructing university activities, furnishing false information and other violations of campus policy.

University spokeswoman Cathy Lawhon said the committee's decision will be a binding recommendation to the campus' office of student affairs if a planned appeal by the group does not succeed.

MSU attorney Reem Salahi said the committee relied on evidence relied that was "inadequate and problematic" but declined to outline the group's challenge in detail. She said the decision, if sustained, would leave Muslim students without an organization representing their interests.

"It really does have very lasting constitutional implications," she said. "It's a chilling effect for Muslims on campus and their right to associate."

Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren was repeatedly interrupted and called "murderer" and "war criminal" by pro-Palestinian students as he was giving a talk on the Middle East peace process in February.

Eleven students were cited on charges of disrupting a public event after they were requested to refrain from heckling but did not.

The Orange County district attorney's office did not return a phone message seeking the status of its investigation into those students.

The MSU condemned the ambassador's appearance but insisted it did not organize the protests.

The disciplinary committee, however, said a review of online message group conversations and minutes from an MSU meeting revealed that the group did engineer the protests and instructed participants to lie about its involvement.

The group's preparations allegedly included scripting statements for protesters to make during the event and instructing participants to cheer at disruptions.

"Be VERY LOUD, firm and strong ... but remain composed and under control. Do not let your emotions get the best of you. Remember that this is a planned/calculated response and not a venting session," the committee quoted organizers as telling participants in meeting minutes.

Israel Belongs to the Jews

These very same liberals who advocate for the rights of illegal aliens in America and will call you a racist if you dare suggest that they should be deported, have no qualms about saying that Jews born in Israel should be ethnically cleansed from their homeland. And what of the Jews in Israel who were kicked out of muslim countries, which consist of half of Israel's Jewish population? I don’t suppose Helen or Rosie gives a fig about what would be their fate if they were still in those countries. Someone needs to remind Helen and Rosie that this is the Jewish year of 5770. The Jews do not occupy anyone else’s land.

Palestine/Eretz Israel: A National Home of Only One People

Myths and Facts, Eli E. Hertz

The following is an excerpt from the U.S. Congressional Record of 1922 that demonstrates the powerful sense of the members of Congress in favor of reestablishing of a Jewish national home in Palestine:

“Palestine of to-day, the land we now know as Palestine, was peopled by the Jews from the dawn of history until the Roman era. It is the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people. They were driven from it by force by the relentless Roman military machine and for centuries prevented from returning.

“At different periods various alien people succeeded them, but the Jewish race had left an indelible impress upon the land. To-day it is a Jewish country. Every name, every landmark, every monument, and every trace of whatever civilization remaining there is still Jewish . And it has ever since remained a hope, a longing, as expressed in their prayers for these nearly 2,000 years. No other people has ever claimed Palestine as their national home. No other people has ever shown an aptitude or indicated a genuine desire to make it their homeland. The land has been ruled by foreigners. Only since the beginning of the modern Zionist effort may it be said that a creative, cultural, and economic force has entered Palestine. The Jewish Nation was forced from its natural home. It did not go because it wanted to. A perusal of Jewish history, a reading of Josephus, will convince the most skeptical that the grandest fight that was ever put up against an enemy was put up by the Jew. He never thought of leaving Palestine.

“But he was driven out. But did he, when driven out, give up his hope of getting back? Jewish history and Jewish literature give the answer to that question. The Jew even has a fast day devoted to the day of destruction of the Jewish homeland. Never throughout history did they give up hope of returning there. I am told that 90 per cent of the Jews to-day are praying for the return of the Jewish people to its own home. The best minds among them believe in the necessity of reestablishing the Jewish land. To my mind there is something prophetic in the fact that during the ages no other nation has taken over Palestine and held it in the sense of a homeland; and there is something providential in the fact that for 1,800 years it has remained in desolation as if waiting for the return of its people.”

NY Times Denies Flotilla Terrorist Connection

Although there are reams of evidence that the IHH has links to terrorism, the disreputable NY Slimes rag sheet claims that Israel has not provided any evidence. The paper also would like us not to believe our own eyes and questions whether the Israeli forces might have used force prior to having been brutally attacked by the terrorists, although the videos clearly show the soldiers being attacked immediately upon descending onto the ship.

Always count on the Times and most of the rest of the msm to sympathize with the terrorists against Israel and America, regardless of irrefutable evidence. Given that the msm has made itself into a propaganda arm of the global jihad, is it any wonder that the circulation of newspapers and the ratings of networks other than FOX are in the toilet?

The Times has a sordid history of covering for evil, from denying the Ukranian famine to failing to report on the holocaust. So it should come as no surprise that today the Times stands on the side of the modern day nazis in the Middle East who’s stated goal is the genocide of the Jewish people.

New York Times Needs My Help to Find Flotilla Planners’ Terrorist Ties: OK! Here’s A Start for Their Research

GLORIA Center, Barry Rubin

The New York Times is a vast and wealthy organization with highly paid reporters and news bureaus around the world. Unfortunately, however, it seems to need a little help in gathering the news. In an editorial, the newspaper has held forth with the following sentence:

“The Israelis claim that Insani Yardim Vakfi is a dangerous organization with terrorist links. They have yet to offer any evidence to support that charge.”

This is like Goldstone who keeps saying that no one has challenged his report despite literally hundreds of specific refutations. It is like the little boy who doesn’t want to hear something, puts his hands over his ears, and keeps yelling, “I don’t hear you!”

It does, however, mark some retreat from the Times earlier statement of intense suspicion about documented Israeli claims, in which one of its writers dismisses the video footage of the soldiers being attacked with these words: “Those images of commandos being attacked with clubs and chairs are lacking context. Were they shot before or after the boarding party started using force?”

Of course, the video clearly shows the deck of the ship with no Israeli soldiers on it. There is no fighting at all. The first soldier comes down the rope, holding on with both hands. He is attacked. Then a second, he is attacked. And so on for the next two. So how could the boarding party be using force when it had not yet boarded? How’s that for context?

In other words, the Times has updated the three famous monkeys: See no terrorism, Hear no terrorism, Report no terrorism.
