Jihad in the Philippines

To the Paulbots and others who believe our foreign policy provokes islamic
terrorism, explain the islamic terrorist attacks in the Phillipines. What has
the Philippines done to provoke this? What does it take to get people to
understand that the islamic doctrine to wage war against unbelievers is at the
root of terrorist attacks perpetrated by muslims. It’s easier and more comforting to believe that our actions create enemies rather than understanding that our enemies are motivated by the belief that they have the divine right to subjugate and kill us.

Oriental Jews (Sephardim) have been influenced in their practice of their religion through long centuries of living together with Muslims . And in the bloody history of humanity, Jews too have suffered at various points while living in Muslim societies, Jewish scholars would be near unanamous in agreeing that Jewish communities have fared far better over the centuries living under Islam than under Christianity. The creation of the State of Israel marks a sad departure of relatively good relations between Jew and Muslim.

Please forward to your family and friends.

My name is Charles Bohbot and my story must be told. I was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1933. We lived under very comfortable circumstances, enjoying a privileged existence. Our family, both immediate and extended was affluent- my father was an oil broker for the Shell Corporation- and we lacked nothing in the way of material possesions.

In 1939 the second world war broke out, France was defeated and occupied by the Nazi forces. The Vichy regime was established and collaborated fully with the Nazis. In 1940 the Jews of France were rounded up and deported to the death camps where the majority perished.

During the same period Morocco was controlled by the pro-Nazi Vichyites, but the day to day administrative duties were carried out by the Muslim Arab authorites.

A decree was issued by the Vichy regime that all Jews were to be registered and issued the yellow star of David tags as a prelude to being rounded up and confined to the concentration camps that were being constructed in the North- East region.

the Nazi-controlled Vichy government issued antisemitic orders excluding Jews from public functions. Sultan Mohammed V refused to apply these racist laws and, as a sign of defiance, insisted on inviting all the rabbis of Morocco to the 1941 throne celebrations

In addition, King Mohammed V balked at the registration order, he stated " we don't have Jews here only Moroccon citizens with Jewish affiliation." This move meant that the Jews of Morocco were saved from the terrible fate that befell their brethren in the Christian part of the world.

most sephardim Jews living in Morocco survived the war because the moslem population did not go along with the christian antisemitism of the vichy french. I know since I am one of those survivors.

Jews must defend human rights, not attack them

Given the tragedies of Jewish history, I find it offensive both as a human being and as a Jew that Israeli parliamentarians attack human rights organizations

These are not human rights organizations, but organizations who's aims are the destruction of Israel. And what right do foreign governments have in interfering in the internal affairs of Israel by funding these groups? If they can't raise money from Israeli citizens, then too bad. Israelis don't support their subversive agenda so they turn to European governments to undermine the policies of the democratically elected government.

Lel- that is your opinion. but there are many, many jews and arabs in Israel are very supportive of human rights. don't be ignorent.
