Rumsfeld Panders on Al Jazeera

Israpundit:

Rumsfeld equates radical Islam with radical Christianity and Judaism
Rumsfeld was interviewed on al Jazeera and said,

Responding to a question on his previous reported comments about the ‘imperfectly’ named War on Terror, Mr. Rumsfeld described radical Islam as a danger equal to the way that “extremism in Christianity or extremism in Judaism is a danger.”

He went on to question the effectiveness of the war, admitting that “we are not competing in that competition of ideas very successfully.”

This is very disturbing. Rumsfeld knows better than this and that what he is saying is hogwash. But because he was speaking on al jazeera he felt the need to pander, lie and make a moral equivalency where none exists. No such global terror war is being waged by Christians and Jews. No Jewish or Christian groups exist who kill in the name of their religions. Western leaders refuse to speak honestly about islam in public even on western media outlets, let alone al jazeera. They make themselves look like fools by walking on eggshells regarding this issue and coming up with absurd stretches of logic so as to avoid stating the truth about the inherent hatred and violence in islam. Why are American officials even appearing on al jazeera, thereby giving the terror outlet legitimacy? Then again is al jazeera any different from CNN and MSNBC?

American Born Jihadist Killed

US officials: US attack in Yemen kills al-Awlaki Yahoo
WASHINGTON (AP) — In a devastating double-blow to al-Qaida's most dangerous franchise, U.S. counterterrorism forces killed two American citizens who played key roles in inspiring attacks against the U.S., U.S. and Yemeni officials said Friday.

U.S-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, who edited the slick Jihadi Internet magazine, were killed in an air strike on their convoy in Yemen by a joint CIA-U.S. military operation, according to counterterrorism officials. Al-Awlaki was targeted in the killing, but Khan apparently was not targeted directly.

After three weeks of tracking the targets, U.S. armed drones and fighter jets shadowed the al-Qaida convoy before armed drones launched their lethal strike early Friday. The strike killed four operatives in all, officials said. All U.S. officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss matters of intelligence.

Al-Awlaki played a "significant operational role" in plotting and inspiring attacks on the United States, U.S. officials said Friday, as they disclosed detailed intelligence to justify the killing of a U.S. citizen. Khan, who was from North Carolina, wasn't considered operational but had published seven issues of Inspire Magazine, offering advice on how to make bombs and the use of weapons. The magazine was widely read.

Following the strike, a U.S. official outlined new details of al-Awlaki's involvement in anti-U.S. operations, including the attempted 2009 Christmas Day bombing of a U.S.-bound aircraft. The official said that al-Awlaki specifically directed the men accused of trying to bomb the Detroit-bound plane to detonate an explosive device over U.S. airspace to maximize casualties.

The official also said al-Awlaki had a direct role in supervising and directing a failed attempt to bring down two U.S. cargo aircraft by detonating explosives concealed inside two packages mailed to the U.S. The U.S. also believes Awlaki had sought to use poisons, including cyanide and ricin, to attack Westerners.

Israeli Ingenuity

The Jews continue to enrich humanity with their innovations and inventions. Israel's enemies continue to contribute murder, mayhem and destruction. Yet who does most of the world side with?

Israel's top 45 greatest inventions of all time

By Abigail Klein Leichman

“Inventors for a Day” tap into their creative side at the Inventions, Inc. exhibition at Jerusalem’s Bloomfield Science Museum.
One of Israel's sources of pride is the enormous number of inventions and innovations that have taken root on its soil over 63 years -- despite challenges of geography, size and diplomacy. The ever-churning Israeli mind has brought us drip irrigation, the cherry tomato, the electric car grid, the Disk-on-Key and much more.

Through December at the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem, 45 indispensable Israeli inventions are being displayed and demonstrated. Curator Varda Gur Ben-Sheetrit tells ISRAEL21c that hundreds of ingenious inventions were considered for Inventions, Inc., which offers visitors a chance to learn more and try their own hand at coming up with something new.

She emphasizes that many other Israeli inventions are deserving of being included. "We were, of course, constrained by space limitations, and also not every company we invited to exhibit responded," she says.

Another feature of the exhibition is the Transparent Studio, where graduates of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design conduct a course on innovation in the area of light and lighting design. Visitors can observe their work-in-progress and share their ideas and suggestions with the designers.

Here, ISRAEL21c gives Israel's top 45 inventions highlighted at the exhibition, in no particular order.

1. Given Imaging, a world leader in developing and marketing patient-friendly solutions for visualizing and detecting disorders of the GI tract, is best known for its PillCam (aka capsule endoscopy), now the gold standard for intestinal visualization.

Visitors watch how the PillCam shows doctors what's going on in the gut.
2. Netafim is a worldwide pioneer in smart drip and micro-irrigation, starting from the idea of Israeli engineer Simcha Blass for releasing water in controlled, slow drips to provide precise crop irrigation. The kibbutz-owned company operates in 112 countries with 13 factories throughout the world.

3. Ormat Technologies designs, develops, builds, owns, manufactures and operates geothermal power plants worldwide, supplying clean geothermal power in more than 20 countries.

4. Pythagoras Solar makes the world's first solar window, which combines energy efficiency, power generation and transparency. This transparent photovoltaic glass unit can be easily integrated into conventional building design and construction processes.

Freed Americans Bash America, Sympathize With Their Captors

You may think that having been locked in an Iranian prison would have caused these punks to do some introspection and come to realize that they have been supporting the wrong side. But instead their hatred of America and Israel and sympathy for the jihadist annihilationists is unwavering. According to Bauer and Fattal, the jihadists being held at Gitmo is morally equivalent to their own imprisonment. And also according to them, its not the terror regime in Tehran routinely vowing another Jewish genocide that is the problem, it is American policies toward Iran. What policy are they talking about exactly, the policy of maintaining passivity in the face of the growing Iranian nuclear threat and the direct Iranian involvement of the killing of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan? This is why I did not feel the least bit of empathy toward them.

http://kstp.com/article/stories/s2300089.shtml:

In prison, every time we complained about our conditions, the guards would immediately remind us of comparable conditions at Guantanamo Bay. They would remind of us CIA prisons in other parts of the world, and the conditions that Iranians and others experience in prisons in the U.S. We do not believe that such human rights violations on the part of our government justify what has been done to us. Not for a moment. However, we do believe that these actions on the part of the U.S. provide an excuse for other governments, including the government of Iran, to act in kind. . . .

Sarah, Josh and I oppose U.S. policies towards Iran which perpetuate this hostility. Sarah, Josh and I oppose U.S. policies towards Iran which perpetuate this hostility. . . .

We also want to express our great thanks to the many world leaders and individuals who championed our cause. They include the U.N. Secretary General Ban ki-Moon, President Jalal Talabani of Iraq and President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and the governments of Turkey and Brazil. They were certain of our innocence and their certainty made a difference.

They include the actor Sean Penn, the great Muhammad Ali, Noam Chomsky, the singer Yusuf Islam, Cindy Sheehan and the Nobel Laureates Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Mairead Maguire. We will always remember that you stood by us. . . .

The sympathy and support of many Muslim and other religious leaders in America, the Iranian people and the elements within the Iranian government that worked for our freedom were also all invaluable. Thank you.

Fakestinians Stone Jewish Babies

The world cheers for and supports statehood for these Baby-killers.

Palestinians stone another Jewish baby Jewish News in Jerusalem.
Less than 48 hours after murdering a man and his baby in a rock attack on Highway 60, Palestinian Authority Arabs showed the type of state they want to declare when they scored another “victory” over a child in another "Palestinian Spring" attack, this one in Jerusalem.

A young Jewish boy was wounded in a hail of sharp-edged rocks hurled by PA Arabs in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Maale Zeitim, on the Mount of Olives. The boy received medical care at the scene, while Israel Police began searching the area for the attackers.

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas returned to a hero's welcome in Ramallah earlier in the day Sunday after demanding the United Nations Security Council recognize the PA as a sovereign nation and grant the entity "full membership" in the international body. He announced to the thousands of cheering Arabs that he was launching the "Palestinian Spring" -- claiming it would be one of "non-violent means" -- a short-lived claim, it seems - to cement the PA's claims to all of Judea, Samaria and parts of Jerusalem restored to Israel's capital in the 1967 Six Day War.

On the same day Abbas was making his "demands" at the podium of the U.N. General Assembly in New York, terrorists in a car on Highway 60 hurled a large, deadly sharp-edged rock at the windshield of 25-year-old Asher Palmer, smashing the driver square in the face and sending his car careening out of control. He and his 10-month-old son Yonatan were killed in what police initially reported to be a "motor vehicle accident" -- but what settlers immediately and correctly suspected had been a terror attack.

Soros' Treachery

Israel’s most dangerous enemies are leftist Jews.

Isn’t there a conservative billionaire out there who could use his wealth and resources to counter soros’ treachery?

Via Israpundit:
The Soros Plot to Topple Netanyahu
By Daniel Greenfield, FrontPageMag

In late February, the Israeli Knesset passed the NGO Funding Transparency Bill by 40 to 34. It had been a long journey for the bill, which despite, its neutered, state was still a declaration of war by the conservative Likud Party against the shadow NGO empire that was the Soros way.

While the bill was no longer able to empower the lifting of tax exempt status for foreign funded NGOs and it only addressed foreign funding of NGOs by government entities, it was a major step for foreign funding transparency. The Soros empire had been built on non-transparency, on hidden donor lists and front groups funded by think tanks with money pipe-lined in grants through a dozen different organizations.

NGO transparency threatened the entire Soros empire and the passage of even a neutered bill meant that Israel might finally be ready to begin rolling back the peel on the rotten fruits of the Open Society Institute?. First governments, then foreign funders, parliamentary inquiries into foreign funding, and then the loss of tax exempt status for left-wing NGOs waging a civil war.

The response came quickly. Less than two months later, Stanley Greenberg, whose firm had done work for OSI, presented a plan to use social protests to create a new majority against the government. Some of the funding for the protests came from fellow Shadow Party billionaire, S. Daniel Abraham?.

Abraham was a former board member of Soros’ International Crisis Group and had provided the manpower for J Street, while the Soros money stayed hidden in the paperwork that no one was supposed to see. The president of Abraham’s eponymous organization is Robert Wexler?, the former congressman from J Street and an adviser on the Middle East to the Obama campaign.

Netanyahu’s sharp exchange with Obama in May motivated even Democrats who weren’t in Soros’ vest pocket to find a way to force him out of office. It was no longer just fear of losing the Israeli left as their hand puppet – the American Jewish vote was in play. Replacing Netanyahu with a lefty eager to appease the terrorists would heal the split with Obama and Jewish voters.

The American and European left could provide the money and the strategy, but the Israeli left would have to do the heavy lifting to save the millions of dollars flowing their way from their foreign backers. On the Israeli side were left-wing veterans of Clinton’s successful effort to topple Netanyahu. Greenberg had been on that campaign and the plan was to do it all over again.

Two months after Greenberg’s presentation, the ball was rolling. Eldad Yaniv, who had been there when the master plan to take over the country was unveiled, was soliciting volunteers for a campaign against housing prices. And not long after that, Daphni Leef, a radical left-wing activist, set up an encampment and a Facebook page protesting against high real estate prices. Who was Leef? She was a video editor for the New Israel Fund.

Egyptian Youths Threaten to Attack US Embassy

These "youths" are worthless losers who have no purpose in life other than to see their depraved obsession to obliterate the Jewish state realized.

The existence of the tiny Jewish state and its success is a constant reminder of the muslim world's failure. So let the hordes wallow in their hatred, they will never amount to anything while Israel will continue to achieve.

Egypt's Youths Vow to Raid US Embassy if Palestine Bid at UN Vetoed Fars News (hat tip Jack)

TEHRAN (FNA)- A group of Egyptian youths in a call via an internet social network called for demonstrations in front of the US Embassy in Cairo to take over the US compound if Washington vetoes the Palestinian bid for UN membership.

According to a report by Palestine al-Yawm (Palestine Today) news network, the young Egyptians have posted a request on their Facebook webpage and blasted Barack Obama's speech after his presidency in Cairo in which the US President pledged a new approach towards Muslims.

They said that the threat by the Obama administration to veto the Palestinian bid for UN membership revealed the realities about Obama and the fact they "he is a liar and is no different with his predecessors in supporting Israel and blatant violation of the Arab nations' rights".

The Egyptian youths said the attack on the US embassy would serve as a strong message in response to the US hegemonic policies.

They further warned the US to refrain from vetoing the Palestinian bid, saying that such a move by the US would encourage violence in the world.

Acting Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmud Abbas has brought a Palestinian request for UN membership to New York, where top officials of all the member states of the world body have convened to attend an annual General Assembly sessions.

The future Palestinian state would include the West Bank and Gaza, with East al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital. The PA says it believes that more than 130 countries would recognize the state of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders.

Israel and the US strongly oppose the Palestinian move. Washington, which supports Tel Aviv's position, claims that a Palestinian state can only be achieved through talks with Israel.

Promoting Sharia in Public School Curriculum

Despite denials, this school curriculum is clearly promoting sharia. It's
revolting.

Liberals strenously object if a Christian high school or College football player simply says a public prayer before a game, yet they are aggressively proselytizing for islam in the public schools.

Bubba Blames the Jews

Bubba has always had it in for Bibi.

Via Israpundit:
Bill Clinton: Netanyahu killed the peace process

By Josh Rogin Thursday, September 22, 2011 FOREIGN POLICY
Who’s to blame for the continued failure of the Middle East peace process? Former President Bill Clinton said today that it is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — whose government moved the goalposts upon taking power, and whose rise represents a key reason there has been no Israeli-Palestinian peace deal.

Clinton, in a roundtable with bloggers today on the sidelines of the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, gave an extensive recounting of the deterioration in the Middle East peace process since he pressed both parties to agree to a final settlement at Camp David in 2000. He said there are two main reasons for the lack of a comprehensive peace today: the reluctance of the Netanyahu administration to accept the terms of the Camp David deal and a demographic shift in Israel that is making the Israeli public less amenable to peace.

Might it occur to bubba that the reason there is no “peace” process and there never will be is because his fakestinian friends refuse to stop murdering Jews, inciting to genocide and working for the obliteration of the Jewish state? None of those things have even been factored in his statement. What is it about liberals which makes them completely devoid of a moral compass?

Might it be that the reason Israelis are less amenable to “peace” is because 18 years of the Oslo “peace” process has brought them rockets and suicide bombers even after having surrendered Gaza. Israel has gained nothing from Oslo and the surrender of vital territory but more terrorism and more demonization by the “international community”. It’s not peace that the Israelis oppose, it is the slaughter of their loved ones who’s toll rises in direct correlation to phony “peace” negotiations and surrendering territory.

“For reasons that even after all these years I still don’t know for sure, Arafat turned down the deal I put together that Barak accepted,” he said. “But they also had an Israeli government that was willing to give them East Jerusalem as the capital of the new state of Palestine.”

So Clinton admits that even under a leftist government, that the fakestinians turn down deals. So how is it Bibi’s fault? He doesn’t know why the deal was turned down? And this guy is supposed to be a Rhodes scholar. Well I have figured out why, genuis. Because arafat and the fakestinian population as a whole was not interested then or now, in statehood. What they want and always have desired, is the obliteration of Israel. What is so difficult to figure out? They have stated so openly for the more than 60 years of Israel’s existence.

“The most pro-peace Israelis are the Arabs; second the Sabras, the Jewish Israelis that were born there; third, the Ashkenazi of long-standing, the European Jews who came there around the time of Israel’s founding,” Clinton said. “The most anti-peace are the ultra-religious, who believe they’re supposed to keep Judea and Samaria, and the settler groups, and what you might call the territorialists, the people who just showed up lately and they’re not encumbered by the historical record.”

Israeli Arabs are pro peace? This is a hilarious claim. No, what they actually support is turning Israel into an islamic state free of Jews. They understand, just as their fakestinian brethren do, that the phony “peace” process is a step toward the destruction of Israel.

So “ultra-religious” Jews are the problem according to Bubba. It couldn't possibly be that the “ultra-religious" muslim jihadists who want a Judenrein Israel are the real problem.

No where in his sordid remarks does Clinton hold the fakestinians responsible for anything. Read the whole thing if you can stomach it.

Sarkozy's Moral Cowardice

Sarkozy warns that a US veto of a fakestinian terror state will spark violence in the Middle East. What doesn't spark islamic violence? Cartoons spark muslim violence, as well as unveiled women, teddy bears named mohamed etc. The Middle East won't be any more violent than it already is. Anyway, I think Sarkozy fears muslim violence in his own country. France opened its borders to millions of jihadis and now its leaders think they can pacify them at Israel's expense. Sarkozy is the same moral coward his predecessors were.

Yes, and what are the implications of that? We should do what is right, come what may. Sarkozy is suggesting that we should give in to violent intimidation, and that terrorism and Islamic supremacist thuggery should be rewarded.

Democrat Apologizes to Muslims

Illinois Democrat Congressman Mike Quigley apologizes on behalf of America to an islamic group. This is so beyond revolting. This pathetic dhimmi does not speak for me or the overwhelming majority of Americans. What sort of mental illness causes liberals
to identify with the enemy? This is among the numerous reasons while I will
never vote for a democrat again.

If America was truly discriminating, those jihadists who massacred 3000 Americans on 9/11 would never have been allowed to enter this country in the first place. They would never have been allowed to roam freely around this country, go to flight school or board those airplanes. If America discriminated, the Fort Hood jihadist who murdered 13 soldiers would have never been allowed in the army and remain there even after he lectured about how it was the duty of muslims to murder American soldiers. No, the problem is that America does not discriminate. We have open borders where anyone is allowed in, regardless of their culture or ideology. We are a nation where those who hate us can openly express their hatred while still roaming freely within our borders. So Mike Quigley, you know what you can do with your apology.

Atlas Shrugs:

Henry Waxman Uses Anti-Semitic Stereotype Against Jewish Republicans

Henry Waxman is spreading anti-Semitic stereotypes and engaging in marxist class warfare. Just typical democrat party tactics.

Waxman Uses Anti-Semitic Trope in Blast at GOP Jews ,

There are Jews who are trending toward the Republican Party, some of it because of their misunderstanding of Obama’s policies in the Middle East, and some of it, quite frankly, for economic reasons. They feel they want to protect their wealth, which is why a lot of well-off voters vote for Republicans.”

No misunderstanding at all. No amount of spinning can put a positive face on Obama's Mideast policies. Obama’s hostility to Israel is chrystal clear even to Jewish liberals in NY's 9th district who elected Republican Bob Turner based on alarm over Obama's Mideast policies.

What is sinister about wanting to keep the money that one has worked for and not hand it over to the government to waste?

PA Sends Mother of Terrorists to the UN

Such a fitting representative for the fakestinian cause. A bloodthirsty culture steeped in Jew-hatred is sending a mother who raised four murdering jihadists to the UN to launch their terror state bid. A society which celebrates Jew-killers and incites to genocide are the people the world wants to reward with statehood.

Mother of 4 terrorist murderers chosen by the PA to launch statehood campaign

The Palestinian Authority chose the mother of 4 terrorist murderers, one of whom killed seven Israeli civilians and attempted to killed twelve others, as the person to launch their statehood campaign with the UN. In a widely publicized event, the PA had Latifa Abu Hmeid lead the procession to the UN offices in Ramallah and to hand over a letter for the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.

The International Community Rallies Behind the Annihilationist Fakestinian Cause

The Palestinian gambit and UN hypocrisy
By ALAN BAKER AND DAN DIKER, JPOST

It is high time that the international community resolves itself to stop catering to the illegal whims of the Palestinian leadership in the mistaken hope that by allowing them to manipulate international institutions they might change their ways and adopt accepted norms.

The international community has no illusions that the “palestinians” will change their ways and adopt accepted norms. In the first place most countries of the world are themselves repressive dictatorships. The international community’s support of the fakestinian cause is solely an expression of their hatred of Israel.

It is also high time that the UN stop pampering the Palestinians and bending their own rules and principles and instead take a serious look at the far-reaching security, legal and diplomatic consequences of the upcoming events and the dangerous precedent they will be setting for future attempts by other non-state actors and similar international bodies to abuse and manipulate the very principles that anchor the international state system.

It would be poetic justice if other groups around the world would use the “palestinian” statehood precedent to attempt statehood of their own. I’d like to see the Kurds do this. This would serve the international community right for its treachery against Israel.

The Guardian Sides With the Annihilationsts

Not surprisingly, The guardian is endorsing the unilateral bid in the UN for the establishment of a "palestinian" islamic terror state. The only purpose for establishing this state is to carry out another genocide of Jews.

It still hasn't dawned on Britain’s diplomatic and political classes and media that the nation's decades long hostility to Israel and appeasment of the muslim world has a direct correlation with the internal struggles and chaos they are now having with their own muslim population. Yet they continue on believing that favoring Israel’s enemies will satiate the savages threatening them. How has that worked out for you so far, Brits?

Via Israpundit:
Guardian group leads UK charge on reckless Palestinian bid for unilateral statehood at the UN

No mainstream media outfit in the Western world has been more hostile to Israel than the Guardian group. On Sunday it ramped up the vitriol yet again. Stupidity or bigotry? Take your pick.

Robin Shepherd, Owner/Publisher

On Friday this coming week, the Palestinian leadership will ask the United Nations Security Council for recognition of a Palestinian state on the basis of 1967 borders which are entirely indefensible for the State of Israel.

Anyone but a fool can see that this is a blatant attempt to avoid direct negotiations with Israel so as to obviate the need for the kind of concessions that meaningful negotiations always entail.

And anyone but a bone-headed imbecile or an implacable anti-Zionist can see that the whole enterprise is fraught with extreme dangers both for Israel itself and for the peace and stability of the entire region.

The move at the Security Council will fail due to the promised American veto. It will then move to the UN General Assembly where the inbuilt anti-Israeli majority will ensure that it passes, granting symbolic (though not legal) recognition to a Palestinian state entirely on Palestinian terms.

Israel will have no choice but to ignore it. But the consequences could still be dire. That symbolic recognition is an obvious gift to every violent anti-Semitic bigot in the region, and the region is jam packed full of them as all the available evidence shows.

It is a gift to Bashar al-Assad in Syria who has already tried to use the Palestinian cause as a diversion from the appalling repression he is visiting on his own people.

It is a gift to Hezbollah who, having rearmed following the 2006 Lebanon conflict, can be activated by their masters in Tehran at any moment.

It is a gift to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt ahead of the country’s elections.

It is a gift to the men of violence in Fatah, the supposedly “moderate” Palestinian faction which consistently names public squares after terrorists and which could all too easily use it as justification for a third Intifada.

In short it is a gift to anyone looking for a rallying cry against Israel.

So, here comes an editorial in the Observer, sister paper on Sunday to the Guardian, with all guns blazing in support of the Palestinian move.

“The idea of a Palestinian state should be uncontroversial,” the paper says.

Liberals Blame Bibi Instead of Israel's Enemies

Typical "blame Israel first" editorial from a Jewish liberal. Liberals refuse to deal with reality regarding Israel's implacable enemies.

Via Israpundit:
Digging in, the essence of Netanyahu’s foreign policy

The years-long diplomatic effort to integrate Israel as an accepted neighbor in the Middle East collapsed this week, with the expulsion of the Israeli ambassadors from Ankara and Cairo, and the rushed evacuation of the embassy staff from Amman. This is the lowest point in Israeli foreign policy since the groundbreaking visit to Jerusalem by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in 1977. The region is spewing out the Jewish state, which is increasingly shutting itself off behind fortified walls, under a leadership that refuses any change, movement or reform and is dealing with debacle after debacle.

That Israel is not an accepted neighbor in the Middle East is solely due to the hatred of Jews on the part of its neighbors, not because of Bibi’s foreign policy decisions. Any change, movement or reform on the part of Bibi's foreign policy will not make a difference. There is nothing Israel can do to appease those who believe it is their divine duty to destroy the Jewish state.

Israel is entering the looming confrontation with the Palestinians isolated, weak and abhorred by the international community.

The international community abhorres Israel because the international community lacks a moral compass, is anti-Semitic, is terrified of muslims and is angry that Israel refuses to placate the muslim world by committing suicide. The international community believes that making Israel a sacrificial lamb will satisfy the bloodlust of the muslim world and therefore keep their own countries safe.

Aluf Benn is a typical Jewish liberal who lacks pride or self-respect and grovels to anti-Semites and wants the Jewish state to do the same.

Soros Funded "Islamophobia" Report Debunked

Another fisking of the Soros funded fake report which smears critics of jihad.

Via Israpundit:

Smear, Inc.: Silencing the Critics of Islamic Supremacism Assyrian International News Agency 15 September 2011

The recently released report “Fear, Inc.: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America,” from the George Soros-funded Center for American Progress (CAP), purports to expose a sinister network of American “Islamophobes” funded by a “flood of cash” who manufacture conspiracy theories about Islam, spread hate and bigotry against all Muslim-Americans, and inspire violence toward them, all for financial and political gain. But in fact, the very concept of Islamophobia is manufactured propaganda used by the subversive Muslim Brotherhood and their leftist support network to demonize and silence critics of Islamic fundamentalism.

The authors of “Fear, Inc.” are counting on its impressive length (138 pages), cascades of footnotes, a few three-color graphics, and professionally glossy cover to convince readers that it is thoroughly sourced, unbiased and undeniable proof of their thesis. Stephen Walt at Foreign Policy, to name one, seems to have been convinced, calling it “a remarkable piece of investigative work” and then parroting its ludicrous accusation that, instead of the threat of radical Islam, “what we are really facing is a well-funded right-wing collaboration to scare the American people with a bogeyman of their own creation.” A bogeyman of their own creation? It takes an impressive degree of ideological self-delusion to convince oneself that Islamic extremism is a mere chimera of the right.

Although there are dozens and dozens of serious, qualified critics of Muslim fundamentalism, the report hones in on five figures it deems to be the central nervous system of this Islamophobic”network:

• Frank Gaffney at the Center for Security Policy.

• David Yerushalmi at the Society of Americans for National Existence.

• Daniel Pipes at the Middle East Forum.

• Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch and Stop Islamization of America.

The report also targets other perpetrators whom they label “the validators” and “the activists,” as well as miscellaneous “misinformation experts,” “political players,” “right-wing media,” and “grassroots organizations and the religious right.” The focus of this response will remain on the principal players that the report targets for their “Islamophobia.”

The authors of the report claim that “due in part to the relentless efforts of this small group of individuals and organizations, Islam is now the most negatively viewed religion in America.” Some of that negativity may indeed stem from these individuals and organizations educating people about unsettling aspects of Islam that they were unaware of before, aspects that contradict the Left’s (and many on the Right’s) mantra that Islam is a Religion of Peace.

It couldn’t be possible that the more than 17,000 islamic terrorist attacks around the world, the beheadings, “honor” murders, persecution and murder of non-muslims in muslim majority countries etc. all contribute to the negative view of islam. According to this joke of a report, it is all as a result of the efforts of the above men.

to demonize these falsely labeled “Islamophobes” as a “small band of radical ideologues” and “misinformation experts” who are intentionally “mischaracterizing Islam,”

I guess most of the world’s muslims, who support the implementation of sharia law, are also mischaracterizing islam.

The Durban III Abomination

The UN's Durban III freak show will go on. That any western nation would even consider attending this gathering of depraved Jew-haters, haters of freedom and practitioners of oppression and genocide, shows that much of the free world lacks a moral compass.

U.N. Allows Qaddafi Associates to Attend Durban III

This article by Anne Bayefsky appears on The Weekly Standard

The U.N. has quietly released the list of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that will be allowed to attend its “anti-racism” conference on September 22, 2011 in New York. All NGOs that requested credentials to attend the so-called “Durban III” conference were granted permission, except for four groups. Excluded are organizations from Denmark and Nepal that represent the Dalits (sometimes referred to as “outcasts” or “untouchables”), one little-known group dealing with human rights in Iraq, and the Swiss-based U.N. Watch, despite its close relations to the Obama administration and its support for U.S. membership on the U.N. Human Rights Council.

The U.N. General Assembly decided on June 13 that participation by NGOs in Durban III would be subject to the approval of every U.N. state – that is, approval from member states “on a no-objection basis.” This policy gave the likes of Iran, Saudi Arabia, and all other intolerant and xenophobic nations decision making power to decide which organizations count as genuinely “active in the field of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related forms of intolerance” – the theoretical criteria for approval. The U.N. has not released the name (or names) of the countries that objected to these four NGOs.

NGOs that passed the “no objection” hurdle, and are now accredited to attend Durban III, include “North South XXI” – an organization closely linked to Libya’s Muammar Qaddafi. In fact, according to the website of the “Al-Qaddafi International Prize for Human Rights,” the North South organization is its primary associate. At U.N. Human Rights Council sessions, North South representatives generally spend their time attempting to tie Israel to “racism,” “genocide,” and “extermination.” Another “anti-racism” NGO approved by the U.N. for participation in Durban III is the Mouvement contre le racism et pour l’amitié entre les peuples (MRAP). MRAP use their U.N. speeches to accuse Israel of “ethnic cleansing and apartheid.”

Maen Areikat tells reporters that Palestine will be free of Jews
The Palestinians are so confident that their program will succeed that they have stopped trying to hide its real nature:

By Oren Dorell, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON – The Palestine Liberation Organization’s ambassador to the United States said Tuesday that any future Palestinian state it seeks with help from the United Nations and the United States should be free of Jews.
After 44 years of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, “it would be in the best interest of the two people to be separated,” PLO Ambassador Maen Areikat says.
“After the experience of the last 44 years of military occupation and all the conflict and friction, I think it would be in the best interest of the two people to be separated,” Maen Areikat, the PLO ambassador, said during a meeting with reporters sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor. He was responding to a question about the rights of minorities in a Palestine of the future.
Such a state would be the first to officially prohibit Jews or any other faith since Nazi Germany, which sought a country that was judenrein, or cleansed of Jews, said Elliott Abrams, a former U.S. National Security Council official.

In case there is any question about what he means by ‘separation’, here is a snippet from an interview with Areikat last year in Tablet (big h/t to Challah Hu Akbar):

Australia Jumps on the Anti-Israel BDS Bandwagon

Australia, like every other western country is under threat of islamic terrorism. So the big debate going on amongst Australian senators is whether or not to boycott..... Israel. Lest we be accused of paranoia, we surely musn't consider that singling out Israel for boycott has anything to do with anti-Semitism, it's just an expression of "criticism" of Israeli policies. However I don't suppose those pushing for a boycott of Israeli products have any qualms about doing business with the world's most horrific regimes. I don't suppose they've considered boycotts of China, saudi arabia, Pakistan, Egypt or any of the other numerous sharia states and tyrannical dictatorships.

Australian chamber debates boycott of Israeli products By JPOST.COM STAFF

Federal senators engage in heated political debate with conflicting views of anti-Israeli boycott movement; Green party condemned for support.
Talkbacks (48)
Australian politicians engaged in heated political debate on Tuesday, with contrasting opinions about support or condemnation of boycotting Israeli products and businesses, according to an AAP report in the Sydney Morning Herald.

It was reported that Australia's part in the global anti-Israeli Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement was at the root of the debate.The Greens were condemned for not having denounced the movement, which Greens Party senator Lee Rhiannon has publicly supported in the past, though it is not party policy.

BDS is a campaign that has expressed itself in various regions of the world through academic, cultural, political and economic boycotts of Israel. The movement recently gained some momentum in Australia, with protests taking place outside Israeli chocolate shop chain Max Brenner in several cities during the summer.

"(The Senate) should not tolerate the boycotting of businesses because the ownership is Jewish," leader of the opposition in the Senate Eric Abetz is reported to have said. "We know enough about world history never to go down that track."

AAP quoted Greens Party Deputy Christine Milne rejecting accusations from other parties that compared their support of the boycott to the start of the Holocaust: "I know precisely about the cruelty of the Nazis to the Jews in the second World War and I find it despicable in the extreme that every last one of you stand over there and try and point fingers."

He reportedly added, "The issue we should be debating is the question of ... a two-state solution in the Middle East."

The Moral Cowardess of the Jewish Federation of Britain

So according to the demented members of the Jewish Federation of Britain, waving Israeli flags is an “extremist” act equivalent to those who were celebrating the mass murder of Americans on 9/11.

We have for far too long allowed morally bankrupt organizations like The Jewish Federation of Britain and similar groups in America to falsely represent the Jewish community in the diaspora. These are people who remain silent regarding the widespread and dangerous anti-Semitism coming from the islamic community, while insisting the greatest danger to Jews are Evangelical Christians and other conservatives who love Israel.

Feckless Jewish Federation in Britain
Brian of London writes

Those luminaries from the Board of Deputies of British Jews decided that after 9-11′s demonstration of strength by Muslim fanatics on the streets of London, they would issue the following statement:

Board Statement: Board Speaks Out Against EDL and Extremism

As we have done so consistently in the past, the Board of Deputies of British Jews condemns unreservedly the EDL, their ideology and their actions. It is clear for all to see that the EDL are solely intent on causing divisions and mistrust between different groups in British society. When they wave Israeli flags at a rally or demonstration, they do so only to goad the Muslim community and to stir communal tensions. This, and everything that the EDL stands for, is utterly abhorrent. Equally sickening were the scenes of demonstrators attacking America and celebrating 9/11. All right thinking people should be repulsed by extremism from any quarter.
The EDL Jewish Division Response:JDiv Speaks out about BDBJ and Extreme cowardice

As we have done so consistently in the past, the EDL Jewish Division condemns unreservedly the Board of Deputies of British Jews (BDBJ), their lack of spine and their astonishing inaction in the face of the massive rise of antisemitism coming squarely from Radical Islam in the UK.

Blaming Israel

In the name of “fairness” and politically correct moral equivalence, WAPO couldn’t simply have condemned the actions of Turkey and Egypt in its editorial without finding fault with Israel also.

First of all Israel doesn’t owe Turkey an apology since Turkey was clearly the aggressor which committed an act of war against Israel by sending the jiihadist IHH aboard the mavi marmara with the purpose of deliberately provoking Israel. Secondly, IDF commandos boarded the ship with paintball guns. How is that amount to the use of “excessive force”? The commandos only used deadly force after their own lives were in danger from being beaten with lead pipes, knives and whatever else they were attacked with upon descending the Mavi Marmara. And Egyptian guards wouldn’t have been killed had they not have either looked the other way or possibly aided the terrorists outright who murdered Israelis.

Why is it so difficult for the liberal media to admit that Israel is in the right, her enemies are wrong, period? Why is it that they ALWAYS equivocate? Why does the liberal media muddle these situations and find it impossible to see Israel’s conflicts with her enemies as what it actually is, an issue of black and white? Israel being the victim of her enemies attempts to destroy her while Israelis only want to live their lives in peace. There is no “cycle of violence” and there is not fault with both sides. There is aggressor and victim. Israel being the victim of constant arab and muslim aggression. One has to be morally deficient not to see the situation in those obvious terms.

Once again, Israel is scapegoated

By Editorial Board Opinion, WaPO, Tuesday, September 13, 2:34 AM

ISRAELIS WORRY that the Arab Spring is turning from a popular movement against dictatorship into another assault on the Jewish state, and their worry is not unfounded. Last week in Cairo a mob attacked the Israeli Embassy, forcing the evacuation of the ambassador and most of his staff; the previous week the Israeli ambassador to Turkey was expelled. Later this month Palestinians are expected to introduce a resolution on statehood at the United Nations, and Israel could be further isolated if, as expected, a large majority of the General Assembly votes in favor of it.

There’s little doubt that plenty of Arabs and Turks are angry at Israel. But it’s worth noting that, as often is the case in the Middle East, those passions are being steered by governments.

?Toles’s take on the situation in Libya, Egypt and beyond.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who aspires to regional leadership, has directed a campaign against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu and stoked it with incendiary statements. Mr. Erdogan is furious that a U.N. investigation concluded that Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip, and thus its intervention to stop a Turkish-led flotilla last year, was legal. He also finds it convenient to lambaste Israel rather than talk about neighboring Syria, where daily massacres are being carried out by a regime Mr. Erdogan cultivated.

The assault on the embassy in Cairo has been condemned by the leaders of Egypt’s popular revolution and by some leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood. Both they and Western diplomats blame the ruling military for failing to secure the embassy, and they suspect the omission may have been part of an effort to divert rising public unrest toward a familiar target.

In the West Bank, polls have shown that President Mahmoud Abbas’s U.N. statehood initiative is regarded as a low priority by the majority of Palestinians, 60 percent of whom said the better option was resuming direct negotiations with Israel. But Mr. Abbas fears he may be the next target of popular uprising; the U.N. gambit appears aimed in part at preempting that.

This is not to say the trend is benign. Israel is looking more isolated than at any time in decades. It is more than a hapless bystander: Mr. Netanyahu’s government could have avoided a crisis with Turkey had it been willing to apologize for the deaths of nine Turks during the interception of the flotilla, which the U.N. panel rightly judged to be an excessive use of force. An incident in which five Egyptian guards were killed when Israeli forces pursued terrorists crossing the border helped to trigger the upsurge in tensions with Cairo. And Mr. Netanyahu’s slowness to embrace reasonable parameters for Palestinian statehood provided Mr. Abbas with a pretext for his U.N. initiative.

It nevertheless is in the interest of Western governments, as well as of Israel, to resist the counterproductive and irresponsible initiatives of Mr. Abbas and Mr. Erdogan. In Egypt, the military has cited the attack on the Israeli Embassy as a pretext to apply emergency laws and censor the media; those, too, are steps in the wrong direction. The core demands of the Arab Spring have nothing to do with Israel: They are about ending authoritarian rule and modernizing stagnating societies. Scapegoating Israel will not satisfy the imperative for change.

Gates' Blame Israel Approach to the Middle East

How did Gates ever come to replace someone with the moral clarity of Donald Rumsfeld?
The feeble and mindless approach to dealing with Iran by Gates and his ilk put America in grave danger. These are people who perversely believe that a preemptive strike on Iran by Israel is more dangerous than an Iran with nuclear weapons. They obviously didn’t learn from the example of Iraq. If Israel had been intimidated into backing off from bombing the Osirak nuclear reactor in 1981, as many in the U.S. defense and foreign policy establishment wanted, saddam hussein would have had nuclear weapons when he invaded Kuwait. Cheney learned that lesson which is why he thanked Israel back in 1991 and favored bombing Syria’s nuclear reactor in 2007.

Gates and Netanyahu
By Elliot Abrams, Pressure points, CFR

While I’ve been out of the country a small tempest has, I see, developed about former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates’ views of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Jeffrey Goldberg reported this:

“Senior administration officials told me that Gates argued to the president directly that Netanyahu is not only ungrateful, but also endangering his country by refusing to grapple with Israel’s growing isolation and with the demographic challenges it faces if it keeps control of the West Bank.”
In Israel, where of course this is big news, critics of Netanyahu have blamed him for sparking such criticism from Gates. Even in the United States, it has been Netanyahu who is blamed for evoking such an attitude from Gates.

I beg to differ, for in my experience Secretary Gates held this exact view in 2007 and expressed it then. As former Vice President Dick Cheney’s new memoir recounts in some detail, there were in the spring and summer of that year, drawn-out considerations over what to do about the then-recently discovered Syrian nuclear reactor. There were endless discussions between Israeli and U.S. officials, and meeting after meeting inside the U.S. government. I participated in most of them.

Cheney notes that he favored a U.S. bombing of the reactor, and was alone in this view. That is my memory as well. I was alone in favoring an Israeli strike, for I thought it would be useful to restore some of the credibility they had lost in the Lebanon War of 2006. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Gates favored a diplomatic route, taking the Syrians first to the International Atomic Energy Agency and then to the U.N. Security Council to demand that they take the reactor apart. Cheney believed, and I agreed, that this was folly: The Syrians could drag that out for years while they finished construction of the reactor. When had the U.N. ever forced a rogue state to give up its nuclear program? Cheney asked. Moreover, once the Syrians found out that we knew about the reactor our military options would be gone: For example, in Saddam Hussein’s style they could put a kindergarten or hospital at the site and prevent a strike — once the reactor was “hot,” a strike would have dangerous repercussions for many surrounding miles.

In the end, the president was persuaded to try the diplomatic route and told then Prime Minister Ehud Olmert this. Olmert immediately responded that this would not work, and that if we would not bomb the reactor he would. He reminded the president that he had, from the beginning, said it had to be destroyed one way or another. President George W. Bush was instantly and thereafter fine with that decision, ordering that nothing be said or done that might compromise Israel’s plans.

In our internal discussions Gates had been firmly in favor of the diplomatic option. Of course, during our discussions the question arose of what to do if Israel disagreed — as in the end it did. Gates was firm, as I recall him: Israel was ungrateful and its policies were at times putting our own interests at risk. We needed to be tough as nails and tell them our interests came first and their actions would threaten the U.S.-Israeli relationship. Fortunately his policy recommendations were not accepted by Bush, who understood that Israeli action against the reactor would advance rather than harm U.S. interests.

This story is worth telling for only one reason: That somehow it is now being “explained” that the Gates view of Israel is new and has been provoked by recent Israeli actions and by Netanyahu. Not so. Gates expressed essentially similar views in the Olmert days. Then, as now, he was wrong, but back then there was a different president who could listen to his honest and candid advice on how to protect U.S. interests and how to handle Israel — and firmly reject it.

Gates presided over years of steadily improving U.S.-Israel military cooperation under both Bush and President Barack Obama. He should get real credit for this, as should the officers who have served as chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the last decade, Gen. Richard Myers, Gen. Peter Pace, and Adm. Mike Mullen, and as should above all the two presidents they served. But his views about the Israelis being “ungrateful” are not new and should not, in fairness, be attributed to recent developments, or blamed on Netanyahu.

Never Forget

The politicians, the media and cultural elite have made it taboo to acknowledge who attacked us on 9/11 and what their motivation was. They won't dare utter the words "islam" or "muslim" and those who do are vilified as bigots. I was appalled to read a poll which revealed that 40% of Americans now believe that it was our foreign policy which motivated the 9/11 jihadists. People are still largely ignorant about islamic history and doctrine. Also the leftist and islamic decade long propaganda campaign has succeeded in brainwashing and demoralizing many Americans into turning reality onto its head and have many people believing that we are the villains and those who attacked us the victims. We weren't attacked because we did something bad to them. Those who attacked us did so because they are evil and their ideology is evil. These weren't a small group of extremists who hijacked an otherwise peaceful religion. They were carrying out the doctrine of their religion as commanded in the koran, hadiths and sura and backed by 1400 years of history.

Bloodthirsty Egyptian Jihadists Storm Israeli Embassy

This is the fruit of Obama’s decision to throw Mubarak under the bus and back the muslim brotherhood. The so-called ‘arab spring’ has unleashed the genocidal jihadists who now completely surround Israel and are frothing at the mouth to launch another war of annihilation against the Jewish state. I’m certain that it is not a matter of naivete, but of malicious intent on the part of the Obama administration to do harm to Israel. There is no chance that the White House did not understand what would follow after Mubarak was gone. It’s not that Mubarak was a good guy, but at least he repressed the muslim brotherhood.

Some of the protesters then stormed the embassy premises and tore down the flag from the building for the second time in less than a month. Eyewitnesses reported that the protesters threw the flag on the street, prompting loud cheers from the mass crowds gathered outside the embassy.

Israeli officials stated that the Egyptian protesters broke into the building and managed to reach the floor on which the embassy is located. However, they have not managed to break in through the fortified doors. Continue

Anti-Semitism on Campus

Foxman denies the existence of anti-Semitism on California campuses. When it comes to islamic and leftist anti-Semitism, Foxman sees no evil, hears no evil and speaks no evil. But Foxman is certain there is a serious problem of “islamophobia” in America. I would suggest Foxman resign his position as head of the ADL and instead be the head of CAIR.

“Anti-Semitism on US Campuses”
By Arlene Kushner

Days go by, and life intervenes, but here I am at my computer and prepared to write.

Please follow this posting to the end for a link to a video on this issue, and information on how you can be involved.

~~~~~~~~~~
On Monday, I attended a presentation at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs by Tammi Rossman-Benjamin on anti-Semitism on the campuses of the University of California.
Rossman-Benjamin, who lectures in the Jewish studies department at the Santa Cruz campus of the university, focused on such UC campuses as Santa Cruz, Berkeley, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Irvine. But her words apply in at least some measure to a host of other N. American universities, as well.
“Anti-Semitism,” as it is referred to here, appears in the guise of anti-Zionism. This is the new anti-Semitism: A double standard is applied to Israel; comparisons are made between Israel and the Nazis; claims are made that the Holocaust is invented or exaggerated.
While many of us are broadly familiar with the problem, the details, as provided by Rossman-Benjamin, are bone-chilling. Her report makes you want to shake your head in incredulity and ask, THIS is happening in America? Sadly, alarmingly, the answer is, yes.
Muslim groups supported by ethnic minority groups on the campuses speak about Israeli “crimes against humanity;” promote BDS campaigns; publicly display bloodied Israeli flags; call for the destruction of Israel; sponsor hostile films and lectures; and engage in harassment of Jewish students (interrupting Jewish programs, following Jewish students to their cars, etc).
The primary Muslim groups involved are Muslim Student Association, which had Brotherhood links at its inception and has come out in support of Hamas and Hezbollah, and SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine). They are officially university student organizations. There are documented instances of members of these groups involved in intimidation of and physical encounters with Jewish students and faculty. (See a report from Steve Emerson on this: http://global-security-news.com/2011/08/15/lawsuit-details-depth-of-berkeley-jewish-student-harassment/ )
Turkey Itching to Start a War With Israel
If Turkey starts a war with Israel, I have no doubt that obama will take the side of turkey. This country should have been kicked out of NATO the moment this jihadist erdogan took power.
It was inevitable that once gas reserves were discovered in Israeli territorial waters, that the islamic countries would falsely stake their claim to them and try to steal it from Israel. Being a major energy producer would increase Israel's power and prestige on the world stage, as well as decrease the power of the islamic world over the west. So Turkey is desperate to prevent Israel from becoming an energy power to the point of starting a war with Israel over it.
Erdogan drives toward armed clash with Israel. Oil and gas at stake
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report September 9, 2011,
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan this week coolly moved his country step by provocative step towards an armed clash with Israel – not just over the Palestinian issue, but because he covets the gas and oil resources of the eastern Mediterranean opposite Israel’s shores.
Thursday night, Sept. 8, he announced that Turkish warships will escort any Turkish aid vessels for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. In his remarks to Al Jazeera television, the Turkish prime minister also said he had taken steps “to stop Israel from unilaterally exploiting natural resources from the eastern Mediterranean.”
He did not say what steps he had taken. However, for some time now, he has moved mountains to isolate Israel by drawing a double diplomatic noose around it.
If Turkish ships breach the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza, which a UN report last week pronounced legitimate under international law, Erdogan will become the first Muslim leader to embark on military action in the Palestinian cause. The Arab nations which fought Israel time after time in the past will be made to look ineffectual and the Turkish leader the regional big shot. Even Iran would be put in the shade for never daring to provoke Israel the way Turkey has.
The Turkish prime minister clings to the belief that the foremost Arab powers, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which have been watching his maneuvers with deep suspicion, will have no choice but to play ball with him now that he has confronted Israel. The first crack in the Arab ice came about Thursday, Sept. 8, in the form of Egyptian consent to join the Turkish Navy in sea maneuvers in the eastern Mediterranean.
Erdogan plans to send his warships into this water for two missions:
1. To split the Israel’s small Navy into two heads – one for sustaining the blockade against Gaza and one for safeguarding the gas and oil rigs opposite its shores.
2. To scare Israel into the full or partial stoppage of its offshore oil and gas operations, thereby robbing it of energy power status and substantial economic gains. Erdogan is determined never to let Israel overshadow Turkey in the regional stakes and will put a stop to the Jewish state’s progress – even if military aggression is called for.
debkafile’s military sources report that the Turkish prime minister is resolved to corner Israel into an inescapable military confrontation. It might not happen at once or even within a week, but it will happen a lot sooner than many Israeli politicians and military chiefs imagine because he is using Israel as his ticket to regional prestige.
Erdogan is driven to assert Turkey’s importance additionally by the way he was shouldered aside in Libya. Ankara invested heavily in its support for the Libyan rebels. But when British, French, Jordanian and Qatari special forces stormed Tripoli on Aug. 21 and overthrew the Qaddafi regime, Turkey was left behind and forgotten in the heat of the action.
From Ankara, the Turkish leader watches the sharing out of Libyan oil as the spoils of war among the Western powers and Qatar as an outsider.
Since he can’t pluck up courage to intervene in Syria, he has plumped for seizing eastern Mediterranean natural resources to elevate Turkey’s standing. Not only will he snatch the treasure out of Israel’s hands but no less important, he will challenge his country’s traditional rival Greece whose military ties with Israel are growing stronger.
As for Washington, Erdogan is counting on President Barack Obama’s backing in a military clash with Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak are less confident of US support. This gives Turkey an edge in a conflict – the cost of the passive military policy pursued consistently by Israeli leaders in the face of security threats.
The Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas will also suffer if Turkey and Israel come to blows by being overshadowed.
Why The UN Should Be Disbanded
The international community, through the OIC controlled UN, gives legitimacy to the modern day nazis who want to steal the Jewish people's homeland and commit another Jewish genocide. For centuries Jews were persecuted in the countries in which they lived. Today even in their own homeland, the Jewish people are still being tormented, prevented from freely living in peace and security. Most of the leadership in the free world is morally depraved. Thank G-d for friends like Ileana Ros-Lehtinen in Congress who stand against the international tide.
The depraved United Nations
by Isi Leibler
September 8, 2011
http://wordfromjerusalem.com/?p=3095
On September 20, the vast majority of the 192 member countries of the United Nations will probably "recognize" a Palestinian state.
The "recognition" will not be accompanied with caveats about dismantling PA terrorist organizations such as Al- Aksa Martyrs Brigades or ending the incitement to hatred and murder of Jews and Israelis that pervades all levels of Palestinian society. There will be no requirements for demilitarization. Nor will negotiations by the PA to unite with the genocidal Hamas be curtailed. The Palestinians will not be obliged to recognize Israel as a Jewish state and will continue demanding the Arab right of return to it.
Renewal of negotiations with Israel are unlikely because the Palestinians realize that their goals can be more effectively achieved by leveraging international pressure on us to make further unilateral concessions - and dismantle us in stages.
This event will be followed by Durban III, a UN endorsed hate fest designed to delegitimize and demonize the Jewish state. The principal participant will be Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who recently predicted that the UN recognition of Palestinian statehood would represent the first step toward the inevitable elimination of the Jewish state. Like the preceding meetings in 2001 and 2009, this purportedly "anti-racist conference" will overwhelmingly concentrate on spewing venom against Israel.
The founders of the United Nations, who after the defeat of Nazism endorsed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, could never have visualized that the organization they created would become controlled by dictatorships and tyrannies and transformed into a platform for promoting genocide.
This was exemplified by the Libyan representative serving as president of the UN General Assembly in 2009, succeeded in July this year by Qatar with Iran as a vice president; genocidal Iranian president Ahmadinejad repeatedly addressing the General Assembly as an honored guest; North Korea, renowned proliferator of nuclear arms, elected to chair the Conference on Disarmament; and Iran, notorious for stoning women for adultery, appointed to the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
But nothing beats the bizarre UN Human Rights Council, 80 percent of whose members, according to the Freedom House index for 2010, are either "not free" or "partly free" countries. Not surprisingly, scoundrels are appointed to positions of authority. Thus we have Richard Falk, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Palestinian territories, who claimed that the US backed and executed the 9/11 attacks, and recently also posted an anti-Semitic cartoon on his website. The Advisory Committee is chaired by Morocco's Halima Warzawi, who previously blocked an effort to condemn Saddam Hussein for gassing 30,000 Kurds. It also includes Jean Ziegler from Switzerland, who praises Fidel Castro and Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe and co-founded the "Gaddafi International Prize for Human Rights" - the recipients of which included Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy, Louis Farrakhan and Hugo Chavez.
The chatter about human rights initiated by tyrannical states that inflict monstrous injustices on their own people represents the ultimate hypocrisy. Examples abound: Libya moved a motion to "end all forms of racial discrimination"; Iran called on the US to ensure implementation of international humanitarian law; China demanded an end to "excessive force by law enforcement bodies"; and North Korea called for a ban on torture.
All this reads like a satire but is horrifyingly real. Read the rest.
The Race For Weiner's Seat
The special election for Anthony Weiner's seat has become a referendum on Obama's policy toward Israel. This seat has been reliably Democrat for decades. But there is an excellent chance it can go Republican next Tuesday. Right now the Democrat Weprin and Republican Turner are running neck and neck. Wouldn't it be poetic justice if it were Jewish voters who brought about the demise of the Obama administration?
Column One: American Jews and liberal art of demonizationBy CAROLINE B. GLICK
09/07/2011 00:07
New York Ninth Congressional District race attracting great attention because it’s serving as a referendum on Obama’s policies toward Israel.
US election season is clearly upon us as US President Barack Obama has moved into full campaign mode. Part and parcel of that mode is a new bid to woo Jewish voters and donors upset by Obama’s hostility to Israel back in the Democratic Party’s fold.
To undertake this task, the White House turned to its reliable defender, columnist Jeffrey Goldberg. Since 2008, when then-candidate Obama was first challenged on his anti-Israel friends, pastors and positions, Goldberg has willingly used his pen to defend Obama to the American Jewish community.
Trying to portray Obama as pro-Israel is not a simple task. From the outset of his tenure in office, Obama has distinguished himself as the most anti-Israel president ever.
Obama is the first president ever to denounce Jewish property rights in Jerusalem. He is the first president to require Israel to deny Jews property rights in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria as a precondition for peace talks with the Palestinians.
He is the first US president to adopt the position that Israel must surrender its right to defensible borders in the framework of a peace treaty. He has even made Israeli acceptance of this position a precondition for negotiations.
He is the first US president to accept Hamas as a legitimate actor in Palestinian politics. Obama’s willingness to do so was exposed by his refusal to end US financial assistance to the PA in the aftermath of last spring’s unity agreement between Fatah and Hamas.
He is the first US president to make US support for Israel at the UN conditional on Israeli concessions to the Palestinians.
Even today, Obama has refused to state outright whether or not he will veto a Security Council resolution later this month endorsing Palestinian statehood outside the context of a peace treaty with Israel. As he leaves Israel twisting in the wind, he has sent his chief Middle East Peace Processors Dennis Ross and David Hale to Israel to threaten Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu into caving to US-Palestinian demands and beg PA leader Mahmoud Abbas to accept an Israeli surrender and cancel his plans to have the UN General Assembly upgrade the PLO’s mission to the UN.
GIVEN OBAMA’S record – to which can be added his fervent support for Turkish Prime Minister and virulent anti-Semite Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his courtship of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and his massive weapons sales to Saudi Arabia and Egypt – it is obvious that any attempt to argue that Obama is pro-Israel cannot be based on substance, or even on tone. And so Goldberg’s article, like several that preceded it, is an attempt to distort Obama’s record and deflect responsibility for that record onto Netanyahu. Netanyahu, in turn, is demonized as ungrateful and uncooperative.
Turk Officials Harass Jewish Airline Passengers
The Turks harass and terrify Israeli airline passengers and then invent a story claiming Israeli officials mistreated Turkish passengers at Ben Gurion airport.
Turkey's behavior should have it get kicked out of NATO. The problem is that Turkey gets to have its cake and eat it too. Turkey is allowed to agitate against Israel and commit acts of war against it as well as align with Iran, hamas and hezbollah while still maintaining relations with the west. If the west had any moral clarity, Turkey would be told it must choose between standing with jihadists or standing with the west. But of course, the west itself is aiding jihadists in the Middle East while treating Israel with hostility.
Israel's airport chief: Turks twist reality
Airport Authority chief dismisses Turkish claims of mistreatment by Israeli security officers
Turkish officials are twisting reality by claiming that the detention of Israeli passengers at Istanbul airport is related to the mistreatment of Turkish passengers at Ben Gurion Airport, Israel's Airport Authority director general said Monday evening.
"The attempt to tie security at Ben-Gurion Airport to the Israel-Turkey relationship does not reflect reality," Kobi Mor said.
"The Airport Authority strongly rejects the attempts to tie security procedures undergone by the passengers at Ben Gurion Airport to the relationship between the two states," he said. "Security forces are doing their job day and night in safeguarding the planes and passengers, and there is no room for cynically exploiting their work."
"The fact that security officers cannot publicly respond to the hints and accusations leads to the distortion of reality," Mor charged. "Security officials at Ben-Gurion Airport operate in line with the instructiond of professional authorities and will continue to do whatever is necessary to ensure the safety of passengers at the airport."
'Unprecedented' incident in Istanbul
Earlier Monday, dozens of Israeli passengers on board a Turkish Airlines flight from Tel Aviv to Istanbul were held for several hours by local police after their passports were taken away from them. Some of them said they underwent a humiliating investigation by local authorities before being released. Israelis who frequently make the trip told Ynet such incident was unprecedented.
Meanwhile, news agency Anatolya reported that Turkish tourists had encountered similar treatment at Ben-Gurion Airport. One of them said, "When we reached the airport in Tel Aviv on our way back to Turkey, security personnel took me and my friends aside and we waited there for a long time.
"They asked about our personal information, including email addresses, phone numbers, our family status and even the number of children we had. They checked our luggage multiple times and then conducted a physical search," he said.
No More Money for the Subversive NIF
If you needed more proof that leftism is a mental disorder, here it is. New Israel Fund leader, Hedva Radovanitz, sees no tragedy in the dissolution of Israel as a Jewish state. You see, she believes that an Israel overrun with millions of genocidal Jew-haters would make Israel more "democratic". Just like all of those other democratic Arab-islamic states that Israel is surrounded by. Since Hedva and her fellow travelers reject the idea of a Jewish state, why don't they simply leave Israel and live in one of those other countries which already have an Arab-islamic majority where they will no doubt feel more at home in?
NIF leader: disappearance of Jewish state no tragedy Fresno Zionism
This is stunning.
Actually, it’s completely expected, not surprising at all. It’s like your spouse admitting to having an affair. You knew it all along but hearing from her own lips is … stunning.
Last year, the US Embassy in Tel Aviv interviewed a number of people in connection with a law being considered by the Knesset to require transparency in non-governmental organization (NGO) funding.
It had become common knowledge that huge amounts of money from such sources as European governments and the New Israel Fund (NIF) in the US were flowing to ‘Israeli’ NGOs — primarily left-wing organizations — which were acting against the interests of the State of Israel. A particularly egregious example was the way a group of these NGOs provided almost all of the anti-IDF material in the UN’s vicious blood libel, the Goldstone Report.
Ambassador James B. Cunningham reported on the interviews in a cable sent to the State Department on February 25, 2010, now made public by Wikileaks. The cable includes an explanation by Dr. Gerald Steinberg of NGO Monitor (a source I’ve quoted often) of why the legislation, based on the US Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) is needed.
You should read that, but let’s cut to the chase. Ambassador Cunningham’s cable included this:
New Israel Fund (NIF) [former] Associate Director in Israel Hedva Radovanitz, who manages grants to 350 NGOs totaling about 18 million dollars per year, told PolOff [political officer] on February 23 that the campaign against the NGOs was due to the “disappearance of the political left wing” in Israel and the lack of domestic constituency for the NGOs. She noted that when she headed ACRI’s [Association for Civil Rights in Israel] Tel Aviv office, ACRI had 5,000 members, while today it has less than 800, and it was only able to muster about 5,000 people to its December human rights march by relying on the active staff of the 120 NGOs that participated. Radovanitz commented that the NIF was working behind the scenes through many NGOs to prevent the NGO legislation from passing in its current form. She commented that she believed that in 100 years Israel would be majority Arab and that the disappearance of a Jewish state would not be the tragedy that Israelis fear since it would become more democratic.
Turkey Throws a Tantrum
In typical islamic supremacist fashion, muslim jihadists commit an act of aggression against Israel and then play the victim card when Israel successfully fights back. The west consistently indulges this behavior. Turkey, in an act of war, sent the jihadist IHH to breech Israel's lawful blockade of Gaza and violently attacked Israeli commandos who were exorcising Israel's legal right under international law to board the ship. As a result, nine of the terrorists aboard the Mavi Marmara were deservedly killed. Israel owes Turkey no apology and no compensation. As to the claim in the report that Israel used excessive force, the IDF commandos boarded the ship with paintball guns. So that's a crock. Given that the Palmer report on the jihad flotilla confirmed the legality of Israel's blockade of Gaza, they felt compelled to show their "evenhandedness" by finding fault with Israel in some way. Anyway, Turkey is throwing a tantrum in response to the Palmer report and because Israel refuses to apologize to Turkey for Turkey's act of war against Israel.
Israel Hayom:
Turkey expels Israeli ambassador, cancels military agreements
Turkish foreign minister rejects findings of U.N.'s Palmer report, says Ankara to embark on diplomatic offensive • Israel says there will be no apology • MK Danny Danon (Likud) sends letter to Hillary Clinton: Declare Turkey a state supporter of terrorism.
Shlomo Cesana, Lior Yakobi and News Agencies
Turkey on Friday downgraded its diplomatic relations with Israel to the lowest possible level, expelling the Israeli ambassador and canceling all military agreements with Israel, Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told reporters, a day after The New York Times published a leaked U.N. report into the May 2010 Gaza flotilla incident.
The report backed Israel's legal right to impose a naval blockade on Gaza, but said Israeli commandos used "excessive and unacceptable force" when they commandeered the Mavi Marmara, the lead ship in the Gaza-bound flotilla, in international waters. The report slammed Turkey for not doing enough to ward off the deadly confrontation at sea. Turkey has rejected the report's conclusions and is sticking to its demand that Israel apologize for the incident, which left nine of its citizens dead, and compensate the victims' families.
A visibly angry Davutoglu told reporters at a press conference that since Israel had not apologized for the incident, Ankara was embarking on a series of steps against Israel, including scrapping all military agreements between the two once-close allies, and downgrading diplomatic ties to the level of second secretary. Davutoglu said that Israel's ambassador in Ankara, Gaby Levy, will leave Turkey by Wednesday.
Davutoglyu said Turkey would initiate legal action against the Gaza blockade in international courts, as well as aid families of those killed in the Gaza flotilla raid in seeking litigation against Israel.
"Israel, in fact, has misused many of the chances that were given to them and the Israeli government, on the other hand, see themselves [as being] above international laws and human conscience," Davutoglu said.
All military agreements "have been suspended as of now," Davutoglu said, and Turkey will now take any measures necessary for maintaining security in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the foreign minister said.
Israel says there will be no apology. Israeli officials told the Associated Press the report does not demand an Israeli apology, establishing instead that Israel should express regret and pay reparations. continue
The Clueless and Grossly Overpaid Foxman
I'm so sick of self-proclaimed Jewish leaders like Abe Foxman who are more concerned with advancing liberal agendas than they are with advancing the interests of the Jewish community.
Via Israpundit:
He considers Evangelical Christian groups who defend Israel like CUFI as mortal enemies
Typical Jewish liberal who perversely regards Christians who love Jews and Israel, as the enemy while simultaneously courting the friendship of those who call for Jewish genocide.
In his op-ed piece, called “Opinion: The Threat of Sharia Law: It’s All a Matter of Myth Making,” Foxman assures readers of the Jewish Exponent that “[t]he threat of the infiltration of Sharia, or Islamic law, into the American court system is one of the more pernicious conspiracy theories to gain traction in our country in recent years.”
Tell that to Europeans who have lost parts of their countries to muslims who have carved out sovereign enclaves of their own under sharia law and which non-muslims dare not enter.
We have the option of heading down a path toward a greater tolerance of anti-Muslim xenophobia and fear of the “stranger in our midst,” or we can rededicate ourselves to the ideal of an America that is open and welcoming to immigrants as well as minority groups who have been here for decades. Let us hope that the better nature of America will enable us to proceed down the second path and reject those who seek to divide us for political gain, or those who wish to stereotype and scapegoat an entire people because of their religious faith.
What happens when those immigrants seek to forcibly impose their so-called religious faith on the rest of us? Should we still be welcoming them at that point?
This mistrust is keenly felt by Muslim Americans. In a new poll by the Pew Research Center, a majority of Muslims say that they feel targetted by government anti-terrorism policies;
Who else should the government target regarding anti-terrorism policy if not the source of all of the terrorism?
Significant numbers say that they have been viewed with suspicion, called offensive names and feel singled out by airport security.
This is a great big lie since airport security prefers to molest six year olds and grope senior citizens rather than to appear “islamophobic” by singling out passengers who actually fit the profile of a potential terrorist.
So long as Foxman is in charge, anyone contributing money to the ADL ought to have their head examined.
Libyan al qaeda "Rebels"
It's becoming increasingly clear that Obama is willfully aiding jihadist forces in the Middle East.
US confirms al Qaeda members' role in rebel command. Qaddafi contacts them DEBKAfile Special Report September 1, 2011, 12:47 PM (GMT+02:00) Tags: Libya Muammar Qaddafi Al Qaeda US NATO From Qaddafi's intelligence filesThe Obama administration finally acknowledged Wednesday, Aug. 31 that al Qaeda elements had been fighting in Libyan rebel ranks in last week's capture of Tripoli. This came about in a cautious remark from the office of President Barack Obama's terrorism adviser John Brennan: "Some members of the LIFG [Al Qaeda's Libyan Islamic Fighting Group offshoot] in the past had connections with al Qaeda in Sudan, Afghanistan or Pakistan. Others dropped their relationship with al Qaeda entirely. It seems from their statements and support for establishing a democracy in Libya that this faction of LIFG does not support al Qaeda. We'll definitely be watching to see whether this is for real or just for show."
debkafile's military sources revealed Sunday, Aug. 28 that LIFG fighters had fought in the rebel capture of Tripoli on Sunday Aug. 21. Their commander, Abd Al-Hakim Belhadj, a veteran al Qaeda fighter from Afghanistan later extradited to Libya and held in prison there, had led the battle for the Qaddafi stronghold of Bab al-Aziziya two days later and has since proclaimed himself Commander of the Tripoli Military Council.
This confronts the US administration with the sole choice of accepting this fait accompli, especially after American reporters discovered in Muammar Qaddafi's abandoned intelligence headquarters files attesting to the former Libyan ruler's campaign against Al Qaeda's Libyan recruits and outside infiltrators. Those files contained a map charting the day to day movements of al Qaeda and other extremist Muslim operatives in the country and their current addresses.
They also found documentary evidence of the close reciprocal ties Qaddafi maintained with Western counter-terror agencies, sharing with them the data his agencies gathered on al Qaeda movements.
Until now, President Barack Obama dismissed Qaddafi's warnings that the rebellion which broke out against him in February would open the door for al Qaeda to seize power in Libya.
Our intelligence and counter-terror sources find the Brennan statement from the White House raised more questions than it answered:
1. Nothing was said about Washington's reaction should the LIFG turn out in the future to pursue al Qaeda's political, religious and terrorist agenda "for real" and not "just for show." Will the US accept the LIFG commander Belhadj's role as commander of Tripoli or take action to remove him? And what if its leaders are shown to be working closely with Al Qaeda in the Maghreb – AQIM?
2. How could the Obama administration subscribe to NATO placing British and French special forces at the forefront of the battle for the rebel conquest of Tripoli in direct violation of the UN Security Council confining NATO's intervention to air strikes - and only when they needed save civilian lives?
Our military experts stress that without those troops on the ground and NATO's constant aerial pounding of Qaddafi's forces, the rebels would never have taken the Libyan capital - or much else outside their home base of Benghazi.
The Libyan venture has therefore placed the United States in the anomalous position of opening the Libyan door to rebels allied with groups owning a strong al Qaeda background while at the same time fighting similar groups in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Yemen.
3. What message does the Libyan episode send al Qaeda and other Islamic extremist organizations? Might they not infer that the US and NATO will fight their battles against autocratic regimes in other countries?
4. Muammar Qaddafi while fighting for his life around Sirte was quick to pick up on the real balance of strength. He concluded that if it is permissible for the US, Britain and France to back forces aligned with Al Qaeda, he might profitably tread the same path.
He accordingly sent his son Saadi on Wednesday Aug. 31 to contact the LIFG Abd Al-Hakim Belhadj, the self-styled military governor of Tripoli, to propose on behalf of his father talks for ending the war in order to avoid further bloodshed.
Qaddafi sent another son, Saif al-Islam, with the opposite message to Al Arabya TV: The war goes on, he said, his father was fine and he has 20,000 armed fighters standing by in the city of Sirte ready to fight for him to the death.
It is important to note that Saadi bypassed the rebel NTC leaders in Benghazi and its Tripoli commanders and took his offer straight to the leader of al Qaeda's Libyan offshoot. The deposed Libyan ruler clearly understands that to pursue his threatened guerrilla war against the rebels and their foreign sponsors, he will have to play ball with al Qaeda elements, just as the West does.
Later Wednesday, British sources reported several undetonated bomb cars had been found in the capital, signifying the onset of Qaddafi's threatened guerrilla war.
