Jihad Enablers

This is why its so aggravating that Michele Bachmann is leaving Congress while the myriad of jihad enablers remain. The few that have the courage to deal with this issue are eventually driven out of office one way or another. Shame on those Republicans who attacked Bachmann when they should have stood with her. On the issue of islam, both parties have been compromised. How much of a role did the GOP RINO establishment have in pressuring or threatening her not to run for another term?

Shielding the Enemy

By Janet Levy
One year ago, in June 2012, the “National Security Five” — five members of Congress led by Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) — called attention to U.S. government infiltration by Muslim Brotherhood (MB) operatives. Based on disturbing information from court evidence and documents, correspondence, media reports, congressional briefings, and public statements, they found that individuals with questionable loyalty to the United States held high-level security clearances and worked in key national security positions.
Tragically for the security of the United States and the safety of its citizens, these five earnest members of Congress, armed with ample evidence, were roundly criticized by both Republicans and Democrats, and their request for investigations was ignored.

Unfortunately for our country, this response is not atypical, but simply another in a series of thwarted or abandoned investigations over decades whose outcomes have critical national security implications for America.
A mere 20 years ago, responding to pressure from then-President Clinton to de-emphasize Arab international terrorism, FBI head Louis Freeh shifted the agency’s focus from foreign terrorists to domestic terrorists or “rightwing extremists.” As a direct consequence, 40 boxes of evidence from the first World Trade Center attack in 1993 that would have revealed valuable information about Al Qaeda operations were never reviewed and key evidence, including the presence of Arab nationals at U.S. flight schools, was ignored.
In the same way, serious evidence of Middle Eastern involvement in the Oklahoma City bombing that claimed 168 lives, injured more than 680 people and damaged 324 buildings within a 16 block radius was ignored. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) alluded to this in his 2006 Chairman’s Report for the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee on the attack. Rohrabacher cited suspicions of meetings and phone calls between bombing accomplice Terry Nichols and convicted 1993 World Trade Center (WTC) mastermind Ramzi Yousef. Similarly, the attack strategy and mechanics resembled the first WTC bombing. Finally, multiple witnesses reported seeing Hussain Hashem al-Hussaini, an Iraqi connected to Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guard, in the company of McVeigh prior to the bombing, leaving the truck used in the attack, and driving away prior to the blast. These significant similarities didn’t even warrant an investigation by the Clinton administration.
The Clinton administration also ignored the findings of Able Danger, an 80-person military intelligence program (1999-2001) created to gather intelligence on Al Qaeda networks. The program’s findings were presented to the Pentagon more than a year prior to 9/11. The intelligence unit identified 60 terrorists inside the United States, including a Brooklyn cell headed by Mohammed Atta and three other terrorists later involved in 9/11. This crucial information was ignored by the Clinton Department of Defense (DoD), which chose not to act on it and not to pass it on to the FBI. Two members of the Able Danger team, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Shaffer and Navy Commander Scott Philpott, attempted to arrange meetings on three occasions to transfer the open-source information about Al Qaeda to the FBI and to warn the government about upcoming attacks. But Clinton administration lawyers under the direction of Assistant Attorney General Jamie Gorelick thwarted their efforts and Able Danger was shut down before 9/11 occurred. Although Able Danger intelligence officer Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer provided intelligence from its investigation to the director of the 9/11 Commission, that information was not included in the final report and Lt. Col. Shaffer was not permitted to testify. Ultimately the DoD denied the accuracy of the information and retaliated against him. When Shaffer first published his book, Operation Dark Heart, the DoD bought and destroyed all 9,500 copies.
Remarkably, Able Danger had identified the threat to the USS Cole two weeks before the attack and the role played by the Al Farooq mosque in Brooklyn, a major funding, recruiting, and fundraising source for Al Qaeda in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Also ignored was data gathered after 9/11, when the U.S. Customs Services sponsored an interagency investigative team that collected data on close to 40 organizations and businesses as part of its research on terrorist financing sources. Operation Green Quest (2001-2003) raided the offices of the Muslim World League (MWL), the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), the SAAR Foundation and affiliated Muslim Brotherhood organizations in Herndon, Virginia in May of 2001. The MWL, established in 1962, a Saudi-sponsored group that spreads Wahhabism worldwide, has been instrumental in turning a majority of U.S. mosques into jihad recruitment centers. It has also funded Al Qaeda and other Islamist terrorist groups through its financial arm, the Rabita Trust. The IIIT, established in 1980, controls an extensive network of front organizations, trusts, charities, and businesses that fund Wahhabism throughout the United States and has funded Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Al Qaeda. SAAR, an acronym for founder Suleiman Abdul Aziz-al Rajhi and now doing business as the SAFA Trust, is one of the main funding sources for the U.S. Wahhabi movement, providing $1.7 billion to Islamist causes in 1998 alone.
Extensive information was compiled as part of the Holy Land Foundation trial, which concluded in 2009 with five indictments and 300 identified, unindicted co-conspirators. After four years, 80 bank boxes of information supplied to the defense has still not been made available to Congress, journalists, or the public despite multiple requests, including a public appeal on the floor of the House to Attorney General Eric Holder by Congressman Louis Gohmert (R-Tx).
Finally, the report on right-wing extremism prepared by Janet Napolitano’s Department of Homeland Security in 2009 presents the same obfuscating agenda to shift law enforcement awareness away from Islam and toward citizens who are opposed to abortion or illegal immigration, gun owners, and returning veterans as was implemented by Bill Clinton following the first World Trade Center bombing. Curiously, the DHS report, “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” was not based on actions or incidents perpetrated by specific groups but on the potential for extremist action.
The Muslim Brotherhood’s Explanatory Memorandum for the General Strategic Plan for North America published in 1987 and discovered by the FBI in a raid of a house in Virginia in 2004 specifies that Muslims should fight all counterterrorism efforts so that the infidels are unaware of the civilizational jihad to take over the West. Our government’s own actions to thwart fruitful investigations and limit the availability of evidence go a long way toward helping them realize this goal. In the face of increasing discoveries of dangerous links to terrorist groups and substantial hard evidence of actions taken against the United States, government officials have not made arrests or tried to protect its citizens, but instead have covered up evidence, prevented its dissemination, and attacked those bringing vital data to light. In a nation so hesitant and blind, can we be safe from further attacks?

PA Paper Admits Israel Helps Palestinians

Perhaps they should inform Alice Walker, Roger Waters, the United Church of Canada et al.

Palestinian Newspaper Admits: Israel Helps Palestinians

Palestinian child in Hadassah Hospital
Despite the Israeli-Arab conflict, a Palestinian newspaper has recognized how Israel’s Hadassah Medical Center has helped the Palestinian people.
According to Palestinian Media Watch, the Palestinian daily Al Hayat Al Jadida reported, “PA Minister of Health, Hani Abdeen visited the Israeli Hadassah Hospital. This is the first visit by a Palestinian minister to one of the most important Israeli hospitals, according to the hospital’s announcement. Minister Abdeen who was accompanied by a delegation that included senior officials of the ministry and of the PA, met with the Director of Ein Karem Hadassah Hospital, Yuval Weiss. He [the minister] visited Palestinian patients being treated in the hospital, and he distributed gifts.”
Al Hayat Al Jadida continued, “Hospital director Weiss said: ‘We relate to patients without regard to nationality and religion. We treat Muslims, Christians, Jews, and other nationalities without bias, and 30% of the patients who are children are Palestinians.‘ He went on to say: ‘We’ve begun cooperating with the Palestinians. We now train teams of physicians from the hospital in Beit Jala in the southern West Bank, to treat cancer among children. We have about 60 Palestinian medical interns and specialist physicians who will be returning to the Palestinian Authority areas to carry out their work.”
Hadassah Hospital
Hadassah Hospital has done much to help the Palestinian people and Arabs in general. A Muslim Israeli Arab is presently in charge of emergency medicine at Hadassah Hospital. The liver unit at Hadassah Hospital is also headed by an Israeli Arab, who managed to uncover the gene linked to liver disease. Hadassah Hospital has been a place where Arab doctors have been able to thrive professionally and work towards saving lives, both of Israelis and of Palestinians.
Aside from offering many Arabs jobs, Israel’s medical establishment has always worked to save Palestinian lives with the same vigor that they save Israeli lives. In fact, a 2012 report from the World Health Organizationfound that Israel approved 91.5 percent of all Palestinian applications to receive medical care within the State of Israel. Save a Child’s Heart, an Israeli organization, has also saved the lives of 3,000 children, of who half were hailing from the Palestinian Authority. Additionally, an Israeli hospital has reportedly been taking care of a disabled Gazan baby after he was abandoned both by his parents and the Palestinian Authority, who stopped funding his medical treatment.
Man reading newspaper in Arabic
The fact that the official PA daily Al Hayat Al Jadida has recognized these facts is very refreshing, especially given the routine incitement that occurs against Israel and the Jewish people in this publication, as well as other Palestinian newspapers. For example, in the past, the Al Hayat Al Jadida publication has denied the fact that the Western Wall belongs to the Jewish people, accused Israel of murdering and poisoning Palestinian prisoners, and according to Palestinian Media Watch declared that Israel withholds “elementary human rights from Palestinian children.” Indeed, this one article was a rare example where the Al Hayat Al Jadida publication showed Israel in a positive light, as a country that helps rather than hurts Palestinians.

Alice Walker's Antisemitic Bile

Cruel, unjust, unbelievably evil describes antisemitic witch Alice Walker herself.

Print ArticleSend a Tip

Alice Walker, author of The Color Purplepenned a letter to R&B star Alicia Keys laced with hatred of Israel urging Keys to cancel her performance in Tel Aviv and warning Keys that she is jeopardizing her soul by performing there.

Walker, a long-time supporter of the Palestinian cause, visited Gaza in 2008 and never uttered a word about Hamas.
Walker joins the Boycott, Sanctions and Divestment (BDS) movement as its members have turned on Keys for performing in Israel. Her letter reads:
Dear Alicia Keys,
I have learned today that you are due to perform in Israel very soon. We have never met, though I believe we are mutually respectful of each other’s path and work. It would grieve me to know you are putting yourself in danger (soul danger) by performing in an apartheid country that is being boycotted by many global conscious artists. You were not born when we, your elders who love you, boycotted institutions in the US South to end an American apartheid less lethal than Israel’s against the Palestinian people. Google Montgomery Bus Boycott, if you don’t know about this civil rights history already. We changed our country fundamentally, and the various boycotts of Israeli institutions and products will do the same there. It is our only nonviolent option and, as we learned from our own struggle in America, nonviolence is the only path to a peaceful future.
If you go to my website and blog you can quickly find many articles I have written over the years that explain why a cultural boycott of Israel and Israeli institutions (not individuals) is the only option left to artists who cannot bear the unconscionable harm Israel inflicts every day on the people of Palestine, whose major “crime” is that they exist in their own land, land that Israel wants to control as its own. Under a campaign named ‘Brand Israel’, Israeli officials have stated specifically their intent to downplay the Palestinian conflict by using culture and arts to showcase Israel as a modern, welcoming place.
This is actually a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about something sorrowful, and amazing: that our government (Obama in particular) supports a system that is cruel, unjust, and unbelievably evil. You can spend months, and years, as I have, pondering this situation. Layer upon layer of lies, misinformation, fear, cowardice and complicity. Greed. It is a vast eye-opener into the causes of much of the affliction in our suffering world.
I have kept you in my awareness as someone of conscience and caring, especially about the children of the world. Please, if you can manage it, go to visit the children in Gaza, and sing to them of our mutual love of all children, and of their right not to be harmed simply because they exist.
With love, younger sister, beloved daughter and friend,
Alice Walker
Of course, the children slaughtered by Palestinians in their various bombings do not count, and the fact that Israel has never been an apartheid country does not, either, (try telling Walker of the numerous Muslim countries that became Judenrein after 1948).
Most outrageously, for Walker to write that it is the Palestinians “whose major “crime” is that they exist in their own land, land that Israel wants to control as its own,” when it is the Palestinians who have always denied Israel’s right to exist, is downright ignorant and evil in its own way.
But hey, Steven Spielberg likes her.

islamic Mob Tortures Pakistani Christian Teen to Death

I’ll be awaiting the response from the United Church of Canada, unless they are too busy concerning themselves with Jews who build houses and businesses across the fictitious green line to have any time to worry about Christians being tortured to death in Pakistan or massacred in Africa or persecuted and murdered in Egypt, Syria, Iraq etc.

With human rights atrocities being committed on a massive scale in the name of islam, North Korea developing nuclear weapons while keeping their own people in a giant concentration camp, Iran developing nuclear weapons and threatening genocide against the Jews while oppressing its own citizens, China occupying Tibet and oppressing its own citizens etc., the UCC can only generate enthusiasm for the cause of stopping Israeli companies from operating in Judea and Samaria.

Pakistan Christian teenager tortured to death by mob at Muslim seminary

It speaks for itself.
Pakistan Christian teenager tortured to death by mob at Muslim seminary
A MUSLIM MOB in Pakistan tortured a Christian teenager to death after he drank water from the tap of an Islamic seminary, it emerged this week.
…Mr Anjum told them that he was Christian and not a thief. The Muslims’ response was to force him into the seminary. He was ordered to renounce Christianity and convert to Islam. When he refused, they began to torture him.
His battered body was handed over to the local police.

Norwegian Paper's Antisemitic Cartoon

When will this paper publish a cartoon depicting the horrific islamic practice of female genital mutilation? That they will not touch. It is safe however to attack the Jewish tradition of male circumcision, which is completely harmless. These newspaper cartoonists and editorialists do not have to fear for their lives when attacking Jews.

Norwegian Paper Publishes Anti-Semitic Cartoon

MAY 30, 2013 12:02BY
Circumcision has been hotly debated in Scandinavian countries in recent times, but this week, Norway’s third largest newspaper, Dagbladet, took the issue well beyond the boundaries of civil debate and straight into the realm of blatant anti-Semitism.
The cartoon Dagbladet published on Tuesday ostensibly depicts the circumcision of an infant, but the sinister-looking people carrying out the ritual are actually cutting off the baby’s toes and stabbing his head with a demonic-looking fork. On the right side of the cartoon, you see police arriving on the scene, but after being assured that the practice is simply an expression of religious belief, they leave. Continue reading

United Church of Canada's Antisemitic Boycott

Fake Christians representing the United Church of Canada engage in antisemitic bigotry. Even though they pose as church leaders, these phony clergy are immoral, corrupt and sick in their minds and in their souls.

Where are they regarding the persecution and slaughter of Christians occurring in just about every muslim country? Instead, their target for boycotts is the single Middle Eastern nation where Christians have freedom of worship.

TORONTO (JTA) — Canada’s largest Protestant church targeted three Israeli companies with operations in Jewish settlements for economic sanctions and boycott.
Last week, the United Church of Canada’s governing General Council approved the start of a boycott campaign, encouraging “economic action” against Keter Plastic, SodaStream and Ahava.

The move is an outgrowth of the church’s decision last year to boycott products exported by settlements on the West Bank and in eastern Jerusalem. At the time, the church called the settlements the “principal obstacle to peace in the region.”
In the coming months, the church “will engage in dialogue with these companies regarding their involvement in the settlements and request that they cease all production in the settlements,” the church said. The failure to comply “will result in economic action against their products.”
The church also promises to contact Canadian retailers carrying products from the manufacturers “and request that these items no longer be sold in their stores.”
Depending on responses from the manufacturers and retailers, church adherents “will be invited to initiate economic actions to avoid identified products and to continue engagement with the companies and retailers.”
The United Church claims some 2 million followers.
In a statement, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, or CIJA, pointed out that SodaStream employs “hundreds” of Palestinian workers.
Israelis need to get out of the habit of taking on a defensive posture whenever international bigots condemn them for one thing or another. These Israeli companies don't need to legitimize themselves to antisemites. And their legitimacy to conduct business is not dependent on whether or not they benefit the Arab population of Judea and Samaria. This land belongs to Israel, period.

The church’s position, “which claims to advance Palestinian aspirations by increasing the number of unemployed Palestinians, can only be described as intellectually dishonest,” CIJA said. “Its goal seems to be the self-satisfaction of the General Council rather than an improvement in the life of the average Palestinian.”
CIJA pledged that as in the past, it will issue a “buycott” to mobilize the Jewish community to support the three targeted companies “for the benefit of Israeli and Palestinian workers alike.”

The British Authorities Betrayal

I tuned into CNN and saw a headline about British authorities cracking down on extremist groups in the wake of the beheading. So I thought to myself "its about time". Well, listening for a few more moments I realized that the "extremist" groups they were talking about weren't muslim, but rather anti-jihad groups. MI5 sat on their asses while that jihadi was walking around, knowing he was a potential threat. They sit around while adjam choudary and other muslim jihadis regulary spew hatred against infidels and England and call for violence. Now suddenly the British authorities are very quick to arrest patriots expressing righteous anger and little old ladies shouting mean things at muslims outside of mosques. George Orwell would be shocked at what's happening in England today.

Still the same old nazis.  Even while muslims are destroying Europe, their ire is focused against the Jews. Europe deserves to be engulfed by jihad.

UK Police Arrest Twitter and Facebook Users For Anti-islamic Comments

The more brutal the war muslims wage against us, the more our law enforcement and politicians crack down on the freedoms of civilized, law abiding non-muslim citizens in the west. With every savage atrocity, our "leaders" go ever further in doing the bidding of islamic supremacists.

In Wake of Bloody Beheading, British Police Arrest 2 Twitter Users for Anti-Islamic Tweets

In the wake of devout Muslims beheading a young British man in the streets of London, UK police are vigrously enforcing the sharia.
The Daily Mail:
Two men have been arrested for making alleged offensive comments on Twitter after the murder of a British soldier.
MailOnline understands the pair had tweeted using inflammatory language and were trying to organise an anti-Muslim protest in Bristol following the execution of Drummer Lee Rigby, 25, in Woolwich two days ago.
Complaints were made to Avon and Somerset Police about remarks that appeared on the social networking website, which were of a racist or anti-religious nature.
Perhaps people will begin to understand just how much the government and media elites are part of the problem. It's not a question of, how did we get here? It's more like, it's amazing it didn't happen sooner.
The vicious kuffar-hatred and Jew-hatred spewed by Muslims, the calls for jihad -- the dhimmi powers say nothing.  Continued

Liberal Media Still in Denial About Jihad

Our biggest obstacle in resisting the jihad being waged against us, is our own liberals. They will never concede there is anything wrong with islam. They deny there's any islamic motivation for terrorism. They twist themselves into knots to explain away motives which have no basis in reality. No matter that the terrorists themselves explicitly state their motivation is based on islam. No matter if they shout allahu akbar into the cameras and state that the koran calls for such violence against infidels. Media Matters attacks Michelle Malkin and Bill O'Reilly for merely explaining the motivation for the beheading in London based on what the perpetrator himself said into the camera.

Media Analysts Dodge Jihad Connection in Boston and London

by John Rossomando, IPT News
In separate attacks a month apart, Islamist terrorists made it clear that they believed they acted in the name of their religion, exacting vengeance for their fellow Muslims. Yet several media pockets have gone into overdrive to deflect attention from that Islamist motivation.
Still carrying the weapons that killed British soldier Lee James Rigby in his bloody hands, Michael Adebolajo explained why he attacked an unarmed man on a London street Wednesday: "We swear by Almighty Allah, we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. The only reasons we killed this man is because Muslims are dying daily. This British soldier is an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. We apologize that woman had to see this today, but in our lands our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don't care about you."
The New York Times omitted reference to the attacker's invocation of Allah, relegating it to page A7. ABC, NBC and CBS similarly omitted the Islamic reference.
Media Matters for America went further, accusing Fox News of "Islamophobia," for comments about the attackers' motivations. The liberal organization made no reference to the attackers' own words, but emphasized condemnations of the attack from British Muslim leaders. Commentator Michelle Malkin was singled out in the Media Matters post for saying the videotaped attacker was "quoting chapter and verse, sura and verse, from the Quran the justification for beheading an innocent solider there, and of course they've targeted civilians as well."
In fact, that's exactly what Adebolajo did at 1:15 of the graphic video below.

"But we are forced by the Qur'an, in Sura At-Tawba, through many ayah in the Qu'ran, we must fight them as they fight us," he says.
Yet Media Matters cites Malkin's comments as an example of Fox's "Islamophobia."
Following the Boston bombing last month, not even the discovery jihadist propaganda on Tamerlan Tsarnaev's YouTube channel and other social media platforms was enough to convince some media liberals that the he and his brother Dzhokhar were motivated by religion. Instead they chose to look for other more secular explanations such as Chechen nationalism or disillusionment with U.S. foreign policy.
Hours after Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's names became public, The Atlantic`s Megan Garber penned a column titled "The Boston Bombers Were Muslim: So?" in which she suggested pinning the Muslim label on them reduced them to being "caricatures" and "whitewashed" their humanity.
Had the bombers been white right-wing extremists like Timothy McVeigh chances are that Garber would not have called for tolerance and suggested using a label made them into "caricatures" or demeaned them.
Not to be outdone, Media Matters' Eric Boehlert charged that Fox News was engaged in a "war on Islam," a conspiratorial, delusionary and incendiary narrative that Canadian intelligence says is the leading cause of radicalization among young Muslims.
Boehlert has consistently ignored the treatment of women as second-class citizens and the imposition of the death penalty on homosexuals in Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Afghanistan and Iran.
He has also routinely uncritically echoed the radical Islamist narrative pushed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and other groups. In turn, they have frequently cited his work in their own defense.
The Media Matters senior fellow has defended Islamic extremists such as Sami Al-Arian, a Florida professor who pleaded guilty in 2006 of aiding the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group, accusing his detractors of "sloppy journalism" and of having a "pervasive anti-Arab bias."
Boehlert also defended Islamic charities in a March 22 blog written after a biography about Fox CEO Roger Ailes showed that Ailes compared the charities to terrorist organizations. In fact, numerous Muslim charities have been shut down and prosecuted due to their support for terrorist groups. The Holy Land Foundation had been the largest Muslim charity in the United States before being convicted of routing more than $12 million to Hamas.
According to a Foreign Policy magazine article published in February, the involvement of Islamic charities in terrorist fundraising continues.
Boehlert refuses to use the term Islam and terrorism in the same sentence. Yet he had no such qualms about using the terms "right-wing" and "terrorist" in the same sentence following the Boston bombing to falsely describe Fox News's supposed inattention to white supremacist violence during an April 29 interview on Current TV.
"When a right-wing nut, an extremist goes on shooting rampages, the response is how do they possibly stop a lunatic?" Boehlert said. "When a Muslim is accused of an act of terror, Fox News definitely knows how to stop the lunatic, and they are definitely interested in assigning political blame."
This came six days after reports indicated that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev told his interrogators that he and his brother, as NBC reported, "were motivated by a desire to defend Islam because of `the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.'"
That has since been reinforced by reports about Dzhokhar's note, scrawled inside the boat he was captured in on the night of April 19. "When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims," he wrote.
Boehlert has yet to acknowledge a religious motivation for the Boston bombings.
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry and her guests provided a compelling example of the contortions people will go to in order to minimize the radical Islamic connection to terrorist attacks in her April 21 broadcast.
They took turns grasping at a serious of unrelated "what-ifs" that could have been in play.
"I keep wondering if there will ever be a discussion of that this was because of Ben Affleck, a connection between Boston and movies about violence, and of course the answer is no!" Harris-Perry said. "But given that they are Chechen, given that they are literally Caucasian, our very sense of connection to them is this framed up notion of Islam making them into something that is non-normal."
Georgetown sociology professor and MSNBC political analyst Eric Michael Dyson chimed into the discussion saying that the discussion of a religious motive following the Tsarnaevs' discovery was due to stereotyping and profiling.
"We do what makes us the most comfortable that this is an exceptional, extraordinary case that happened because they are this," Dyson said. "So you take the one part of the element that he's Muslim. He might have listened to classical music … He might have gone to some lecturer."
Peter Hart of the far-left Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting tore into Fox's Bill O'Reilly in anApril 25 post for saying that "only radical Islam allows terror murder."
"Islam, radical or otherwise, does no such thing–just as it would be wrong to blame Catholicism for O'Reilly's calls to attack civilians in several predominantly Muslim nations," Hart wrote, referring to his support O'Reilly's for the Bush administration's invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 after 9/11.
FAIR has frequently been cited as the go-to source of media criticism by the Communist Party USA's news website People's World.
It does not take long to read Osama bin Laden's 1998 fatwa calling it a duty for Muslims to kill Americans anywhere they can, or the Hamas Charter, to see that the terrorists do base their acts on Islamic religious texts.
"Praise be to God, who … says in His Book: `But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, seize them, beleaguer hem and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war),'" bin Laden wrote. "And peace be upon our Prophet, Muhammad Bin-'Abdullah, who said: `I have been sent with the sword between my hands to ensure that no one but God is worshipped, God who put my livelihood under the shadow of my spear and who inflicts humiliation and scorn on those who disobey my orders.'"
The opening paragraph of the Hamas charter invokes Surat Al-Imran (III), verses 109-111, before saying "Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors. The Islamic World is burning." Later, it cites Sura 2 (the Cow), verse 120, before declaring "There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad."
The media campaign to minimize radical Islam as a driver of terrorism is contradicted by at least two policy papers from non-conservative foreign policy think tanks.
A 2010 report by the Bipartisan Policy Center found that the only common denominator for Muslim radicalization in America was a "religious fervor" that led them to justify violent behavior, and the Council on Foreign Relations found in a 2011 report that this thread has played out repeatedly in homegrown Islamic terrorists as diverse as Anwar al-Awlaki, Faisal Shahzad and Jose Padilla.
Another reality is that many Muslim Brotherhood, Salafist and Wahhabist clerics who control Islamic religious institutions in the Muslim world as well as the West have openly rationalized "martyrdom operations" or "legitimate resistance" to justify terrorism. This has particularly been true with regard to terror attacks against Israel and the United States.
"I encourage the Palestinians to… If only I, along with my brothers, my friends, and all the preachers, could go to that sacred land and die there as martyrs… Alas, it was not to be. Nevertheless, I encourage my brothers in Palestine to continue these wonderful, Jihadi, martyrdom operations," Sheikh Muhammad Musa Al-Sharif, assistant professor in the Department of Islamic Studies, King Abdul Aziz University, said in a Jan. 17 interview with Iqra TV that was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
Another noted example is Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, a Qatari-based Egyptian cleric who is touted by American Islamist groups including CAIR as a moderate. Following the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, Qaradawi declared that Muslims who died fighting Americans in the Persian Gulf area would be considered "martyrs given their good intentions since they consider these invading troops an enemy within their territories but without their will."
Qaradawi republished a fatwa on his website on earlier this month, originally written May 7, 2001 urging Muslims to engage in a jihad against their enemies.
"There is no doubt that the Muslim is enjoined to wage jihad on the enemies of his religion and his homeland," Qaradawi wrote. "The Muslim does not take the infidel as a friend, and the pious does not take as a friend the impious, for if he takes him as a friend, it is evidence of a lack of faith, or the disappearance of his conversion to Islam, God forbid, for it is a kind of apostasy, and a type of defection from Islam. The Muslim if he cannot wage Jihad on his enemies with the sword, should then at least wage jihad on them by boycott."
The unwillingness to recognize religion's role in these attacks by many in the media stems from a false belief that Muslims are victims in need of defense leads to a moral equivalency, according to Zuhdi Jasser, founder and president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy.
Jasser argues that the white supremacist narrative following the bombing stems from an acceptance by many liberals of the paranoid American Islamist narrative that Muslims are the victims of an imaginary plot to subjugate Islam. Many liberals in the media have also bought into the idea that the Muslim terrorists arrested since and Islamic charities closed by the government as fronts for terrorist groups in the wake of 9/11 were framed by the government. Another false belief is that Muslims have been the predominant victims of religiously motivated hate crimes since 9/11.
Hate crimes against Muslims have fallen dramatically since 2001, when Muslims accounted for 26.3 percent of all hate crimes targeting religion. In 2011, that number stood at 13.3 percent, according to FBI statistics. By contrast, the same statistics show that hate crimes against Jews accounted for 57 percent of all religiously motivated hate crimes in2001 and 62 percent in 2011.
Jasser argues that politics feeds the white supremacist narrative and jihad denial of many media figures.
"This is part of a growing meme of thou shalt not be critical of minorities," Jasser said. "Those who refuse to acknowledge that while not all Muslims are Islamists, all Islamists are Muslim are in denial. That denial can be manifested many ways in order to deflect debate and genuine critique or reform."
Jasser charges that accusations from media figures fuel Islamist efforts to sow alienation and hatred of the West. That makes young Muslims susceptible to al-Qaida's message, as the Tsarnaev case shows.
